My daughter has asthma and more than once when she was little, she inflamed her lungs by tucking herself into a tight space curled up and falling asleep. Like suitcases. All the true crime I watch, THIS was the one - I couldn't watch a lot of the coverage. Because I haven't been in that situation but I've been adjacent to it, and this case is personal. I've SEEN this, I've had to calm the panicking child enough to even USE the rescue inhaler, and what he went through, the panic, the pain, I can't, I just can't. This is personal.

They were both scumbags. Obviously not saying a woman beater deserved death , but they were both scum, but I’ll say this , If she gets a 2 victims of abuse in that jury and they are stubborn and don’t entirely care what the instructions are for acquittal/ guilty she has a real chance if walking. Remember at the end of the day , those jurors can vote anyway they want. We just hope they vote accordingly to the instructions. But if they want to say innocent out of stubborness , not much any one can do.

For someone who had literal 50/50 custody and yet only saw her kid maybe 2 days a week and it was whenever she felt like it and would end when she and Jorge's fights were escalating she'd have Brian pick Lukas up. Sarah is Sarah's problem. She is a legend in her own mind. She STILL after five years in jail has not learned one thing about herself. She is a narcissist and, I could be incorrect, she is also that child that her parents gave in to for her whole life just so she would shut up. I can see her kicking and screaming, calling her parents names, etc. I am willing to bet she will insist on getting on the stand to testify. Once she opens her mouth its a wrap. The jury will loathe her and have zero sympathy. I feel bad for her cellie. Omg being locked in with her - I'd rather stick pins in my eye.

I actually think her victim mindset is what causes all her troubles. She has no understanding of her own agency and how her own deeds and decisions affect what happens in her life. She seems to be convinced that her allegedly bad relationship had nothing to do with her own actions (staying in the relationship), which makes her justified to kill her allegedly abusive boyfriend. And now she thinks she's not in fault that she killed him.
And this is also what makes her a not sympathetic defendant. She has no insight into how she appears to others when she only defends her actions and acts like a victim. At least, when I first heard about the case, I gave her the benefit of a doubt, that it might have been an accident. But the more she speaks, the harder it gets to have sympathy for her. If she just apologised and regretted her actions, she'd appear more likable and maybe jury could have mercy on her... But her endless ramblings and self-righteousness is just annoying and makes no good for her.

    • @Amethystar

I’ve never been this early!! I love all your puns and your voice is always so calming even when talking about the worst situations I’ve heard. Thank you for being a bit of my peace, Dr. Grande. 💖
