🎬 Igloo Studios have recently given us a brand new animated series on Netflix! The show follows Kento, a young boy who must work his way across a future Japan populated by demonic creatures to save his mother. But is this a fresh memorable experience or something that feels a bit too familiar? Connor investigates!

I just finished the anime and I hope Netflix doesn’t cancel it. I hope we get a season 2.
I hope not. It's perfect the way It ends now. I always fear the next season may ruin it.
stories like these never gets season 2 , only if they have enough money and support , they will . but as of now , "my daemon" is super super underrated

I think the thing with his "revived" "mom" was that, he was just lying to himself and ignoring the changes on purpose rather than being oblivious, as when he gets consulted later he knew what was going on
He asked Anna to accept this new version of his mom. There was never any real conflict between Kento and Anna. He just thought that in time she would become the mother he remembered.
I loved this series definitely one of the best I’ve seen in a while. Kento is such a special character and it’s so easy to relate to him and root for him. I really hope we get a season two to find out what happened with Anna. I feel she stayed back to learn more about her abilities and her full potential so that would be great to see.
End scene of the last episode she is behind him and calls out her name. he turns around. smiles because he sees her and the series end.
Kentos mom was never revived. The time demon was not able to "restore" her consciousness in time and just copied her body to trick Kento fulfilling his wish to resurrect Pandaemonium. The real body was picked up by that company and was even seen inside a glass boy within one of the trucks

Kento’s design, personality, and English voice is pulling some mind tricks on me. Every time I see him, I just wanna protect him and cuddle him as if he was my son. First time I’ve ever felt that about a character.

I just finished this show. Personally, I thought it’s one of the best shows I’ve watched recently. Was it a bit predictable and tropey? Yeah, perhaps. But maybe where it lacks original elements, the animation, design and characters made up for it. I love that genre of post-apocalyptic fiction where it’s several decades later and society’s just.. getting on with it? Some cities have stayed the same, some have adapted, and entirely new settlements have sprung up amongst the ruins of old ones. The truck stop town especially was full of life and character.
Speaking of characters - while yes, there were a lot of tropes here too, I loved that nobody was inherently good or evil (expect for Kento, who is the purest and best boy). The head of the Peace Organisation was, at the end of the day, a grandfather who wanted justice for his family. The daemon users were simply doing their jobs and trying their best to survive. Even Kiriko, who was responsible for some of the most shocking and heart-wrenching scenes in the show, just wanted daemons to be free from persecution and accepted Kento as the victor in the end. Even the characters who only stuck around for an episode or two had heart and personality. My favourite was Kokonoe - everyone rallies their daemons’ abilities to save everyone on that bridge and the dude just rushes up and grabs the back end of a car?? Iconic.
Yes, some of the beats were predictable - I knew full well that Kento and Anna would not be together by the show’s end, and that Anna would likely sacrifice herself in some way because that’s just how the trope goes, but it was great fun getting there. I really hope we get a season 2 and they were definitely trying to set it up that way, but I also think the way it ended could work as a singular story.

I just finished this anime, and i cried, i cried like i havent in so long, that ending got me all kinds of fucked up man. It was beautiful, Heart wrenching and deep. Anna was so cute and sweet and i just wanted to give her all the pets and snuggles. Kento was a wonderful protaganist and I loved that he gained a new family. I feel like they left it open for a season 2. If it happens great, if not thats ok too because the way it ended was beautiful.
But if a season 2 does happen, I think we all know what we want to happen. Anna returning to Kento. Until then, ill believe that she does some years down the line.

Really though; you're painting this as cliché? Compared to the, person with extraordinary abilities helps police/csi/fbi solve crimes, or the woman/girl is in danger and needs man to save her, or the new girlboss trope; this show is unique AF.
I rhink its the fact that they animated a kid getting electrocuted in the most gory way which got me getting flashbacks from made in abyss😿

Oh my gosh!!! I love this anime so much!! I have been so jaded by horrible anime that i stoped watching it all together, but this!! This was the anime i needed 😭 the main character is such a sweet boy 😢 i just wanna give him a big hug and Anna is so cute too. The woman that helped them and her monster where amazing characters too 😢 and that one balloon monster! Over all i absolutely adore this show. A part of me wnats a season 2 but the other part of me dont want another season cus the ending was a pretty closed and shut case and "second season syndrome" might hit this show and ruined it 😭. Over all an absolutely amazing anime the passing and characters were all spectacular!! 10/10 would watch again
Sorry this guy has the mother revival wrong. Kenton knew but desperately wanted her to be real. Also she wasnt demonic, the time daemon wore her meat suit

I was very anxious. It’s like an earthquake. You don’t know when it happens nor when it ends, but you do know that it will happen eventually and just wish it finishes as soon as possible.
First time in my life where I instinctively looked away from something. My god I did not expect that.
It made me think "Teen/adult version of Pokémon, with a lot of cliche story beats"
I loved every moment of this show, but I probably wouldn't have even watched it at all if Anna weren't so cute
I finished the show today, same here... Anna remembered me of my pet, she was a Chihuahua that unfortunately passed away 2 years ago 😢. I liked the show, but I've enjoyed it more because of Anna
I absolutely love this show so much i hope we get a season 2 where we see human get alone with all the daemon because that scene on the bridge was so epic

This anime is so underrated. Hope it gets more attention so that season 2 will happen.
My theory for Season 2 is that another Storage Daemon might be the next antagonist since the Seori Island was absorbed by a different Storage Deamon. The granddaughter of the chairman might be the protagonist for that season since it's all about her mother and the missing Seori Island.
Another good story that shows how too often,the worse monster's are fully human
My biggest question is, did the daemons form from a nuclear disaster or were they always here with humans throughout the centuries?
They said they were creatures from hell that got pulled into their world and mutated from the nuclear power plant that went off. But Daemons can also come from and grow in humans if they’re exposed to the nuclear power plant radiation.
@@RahemtheDream13this is half true. From my understanding, they were not creatures from hell, but born from contaminants of hell which infected grains of sand. This is where the Daemon particles can from that birthed them.
I should have hated this anime...but I loved it. This is so weird.
I’m not usually a fan of this animation. This was absolutely awesome with an even more awesome story. Loved all their different abilities

@@hallownest5488 Yea the sort of digital animation/CGI style. I do prefer hand drawn or a healthy mix. They hit this one out the park tho. My son and I are both eagerly waiting season 2

There is much heart as to how kenta, and the characters were written. My daemon is an unpolished gem.
Just finished the last episode. Took me a bit of time to get used to the animation style but it eventually grew on me. Overall I enjoyed this series and wouldn’t mind seeing another season. I can definitely see this working as some sort of RPG game
I have seen this anime. I think there wil be a season 2 bc in the end, by the grave Kento heard the voice of Anna😊
well the story is fit for a season 2 but it just depends on if Netflix cancels it or not

hello utghouls, you sound andrew lloyd webber in reviewing this anime. sometimes these shows are rentals where the manga number series are by number released this week or month. the parents grew up with voltron , then their kids grew up with dragonballz , and here is one that is science fiction. looks great for a commercial - next question is it base off a manga books. elle for L death note done nice netflix
Plottwist: this takes place in the pokemon universe, roughly 2000 years before the birth of Ash Ketchum
If you have a fully intact and operational soul, you will love this anime.
I think much of the enjoyment comes from the Daemons themselves - if you geek who likes weird freaky creatures but you want to see them as something more than villains, you might enjoy it.
I love horror design of all the creatures and some of the abbilities, those are super creative.
But i agree, story lacks originality. If it was released like 20 years ago, than maybe it would be classic. I know you complained about how episodes are structured but I personally like how those expand the world and shows different way human and daemons can interact.
I aspecially was impressed by idea of daemon who regrew more legs every time he was cut, so his owner keep hurting him till daemon got completely insane. This is just... so damn tragic.
I think the biggest problem are Kento and Anna themselves. You just dont care enough for them. The story reminded me of SweetTooth, but Sweet Tooth is so much more interesting character than Kento and Anna (he is kinda mix of both... the series are very similar btw)
Also i think this series would probably work better as 2d animation. im not against cgi, but i feel like most adult cgi animations are... too bright. Dunno how to explain it, they look pretty, aspecially the background, but they lack depth. Even nights are never dark cause all of the neons and stuff

It’s better Pokémon, to be honest. Watch any pokemon anime and it pales in comparison
Its pokemon x httyd but adult. It isn't unique, but it is well done and it really resonated with me, even though it was a bit tropey. I enjoyed the adventure. Not every story has to be new, or unpredictable, it just has to be done well with likable characters.

I loved it, I was unsure about it cause the animation style. But then I actually watched it and got hooked. I want a sequel but I won’t be upset if they don’t. Cause it ended good. I’m just curious on what they’ll do with the island that disappeared cause that’s definitely going to be their next mission.

Kentos' nativity and innocence make it a good kid drama. Kento is so fucking dumb that it gets unbearable at times. Like homie the world doesn't revolve around you and Anna, death is part of life and life isn't fair
