I still remember many people didn't like this anime when they saw it was 3D, but like I said there was effort here and the models look highly detailed with the blood and shading similar to the manga

It's a shame that they cut a lot of the small character interactions and shortened some fights for the big flashy fighter intros, but I can still respect the effort put on display and the super well-done 3DCG choreography. I'd say that the anime is a great open invitation to reading the manga, instead of being able to fully stand on it's own, but that's still MUCH better than my initial expectations, since the first couple trailers looked shoddy as hell.

you know what, read the manga for the story because a lot were removed from the anime. you can notice that fights suddenly start out of nowhere in the anime as if something should have happened before that but didn't. and when it's time for the fights, you better watch the anime. so yeah, story = read the manga fights = watch the anime that's the way we can fully appreciate this piece of art.
