- Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the Battlefront game that players need right now. While the Classic Collection was a disaster at launch, Battlefront 2 (2017) is in a great spot and well worth playing for Star Wars fans. I've been playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 again in 2024, and I am shocked at how well the experience has held up. There has been a resurgance of players on PC for the game, in part because of how botched the recent launch of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection was. In today's video we'll play Battlefront 2 in 2024, talk about the experience, and also just take about the state of FPS games in general right now. Players are craving fun experiences across the board and I think the industry is finally starting to see a shift. Thanks for watching!

I'm still so disappointed EA gave up on this game. I bet, in hindsight, they wish they hadn't. The community is STARVING for a Star Wars shooter and this one had the basics down, just needed more content.

Started playing this again last Thursday. I know people have nostalgia for BF classics but they just don’t come close to modern standards or expectations. EAs BF2 is an amazing game now and the fact that I was seeing a LOT of low levels over the weekend brought a smile to my face
this game is heavily underrated
It's a lot of fun right now and there's a consistent amount of players in NA that makes it pretty playable

I've been grinding this game out all week and it's been so damn fun! I got my assault to level 35 already and a setup that I enjoy! I can't wait to level up everything slowly.
It's on gamepass for Xbox folks. Definitely watch all of clone wars and catch up to the bad batch if you haven't been watching that. Best and most consistent star wars next to the original trilogy.

It always shocks me how good this game looks and how well it runs! I’m able to run this game at max settings and I’m usually at the frame cap (7800xt)

Me and my homies all just got this on pc w the celebration edition and it was an insanely good purchase it’s on sale right now for 5$ on steam but I’d honestly pay 60$ for how much content is in here

I have this game on xbox and it is so fun, I recently got in on PC so I am very exited to play in on there. LOVE THE GAMEPLAY!
I remember getting this maybe 2-3 yrs ago when it either went on sale or free for a bit and it was the best SW experience I've had in a long time.
I may re-install this to try out the battlefield + mod. There is such a dedicated community for this game.
Also, side note, kind of worried to play MCC in case the Apex tournament hacks are related to Easy Anti-cheat… hoping it’s just an Apex problem.
I exclusively play the 4 player coop mode and it's god tier. I can't stop playing it every time I get in the mood haha.
Put it in Third person trust I’ve played this game since launch it helps with FOV and sensibility in the game it’s better for every game mode you play 👌

if instead of survivalist u run assault training u get like 40 or 50 health on kill. suuuppperrr satisfying to mow down hordes of enemies while they are all shooting at u because u get +hp on every elim. u can snowball like crazy. glad ur loving this game! ive been playing it since launch, still play it very frequently, it truly never gets old.
also, ik u said u like the more chill vibe of battlefront but in case u want something with a lil more meat id try galactic assault. that mode is absolute chaos in the best way. but its also pretty sweaty so be warned lol.

I was turned away from EA's Battlefront games for the simple reason that the gameplay was too far of a departure from the older games. I had wanted Battlefield 4 with a coat of Star Wars paint, and was too jaded by the fact that it wasn't that.
But over the years I grew to appreciate it for what it was, it's own unique game with a different play style that's just as valid as anything that came before.
Now with the game being $5 on steam I've finally gone ahead and purchased it, and man this game is solid. Definitely been missing out.
The game has become a masterpiece. I bought and refunded the StarWars Battlefront Collection and reinstalled this on Xbox Gamepass. I originally purchased the game on PS4 on launch and it has improved leaps and bounds. It’s hands down on of the best online shooters I’ve played in a long time.

I’m like one of the few people who feel this game is leagues better than the OG battlefronts. Especially in terms of gameplay 🤷🏾♂️.. Yea they could have done better with modes and content but the way the game plays is amazing.

I'm not sure, that's a great question, in NA it takes about 3-5 mins to find a game
im in germany (are those the same servers?) and it is somewhat alive. mostly you can find a few lobbies. but for example while the fn OG season i couldn’t find a supremecy match for days. and ofc there are many cheaters. that’s for PC.
on the console you’ll definitely find enough players

Does matchmaking take a long time? It's always about 5 mins in NA during peak times
On Xbox it's gamepass, usually on sale for cheap too. Supremacy clone wars era is always packed but galactic assault is usually dead

Serious question: I thought this game was hated when it came out? Due to MTX, no single player, etc. Are these lootbox-era games just hitting their nostalgia period already? I just remember this game leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
What’s mtx? The game has singlesplayer but it was mid and the lootboxes got removed u can buy the celebration edition and get everything

If anyone wants to play this game, it's better to play it on console than Steam because EA feels the need to force you to play the game through their services.

That is a great question, I really hope so and with Vince Zampella at the helm I think they have a better chance too, however the news of Ridgeline shutting down doesn't have me overly hopeful. What are your thoughts?

To relive an experience like this, can’t pass up a Steam Sale like that. Feel much better spending 6$ for a full game than investing in a 35$ scam like the Battlefront collection.
Dice was at the top of the game back then when it came to visual fidelity. Now we got BF2042 🤮

Maybe the revival of Battlefront 2's multiplayer was the plan all along with the botched classic collection by Aspyr, the force works in mysterious ways 😂 It's actually on an upwards trend, 1900 online right now, peak hour 2600!
Spoiler Alert: it was great at launch too; the community just had a collective heart attack over some economy and balance issues that were largely fixed before it even began wide release. The whole ordeal was way overblown.

This community is so toxic,this game has always been great just had a crap launch that was quickly changed. Star Wars fans just need something to hate. BFCC is one or 2 updates away from being fixed and everyone will find something else to be mad about.
