NOT Your Average Sloppy Joe Sandwich from Scratch -- Must Try
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 июн 2023
- This homemade sloppy joe sandwich is not your average sloppy joe! We start by smoking some ground beef patties on the pellet grill, and then finish the smoked beef by searing it on the griddle for a nice crust and extra flavor. Then, chop up the beef patties, make the homemade sloppy joe sauce directly on the Blackstone griddle, let it reduce and these easy griddle sandwiches are ready to enjoy!

I stopped sloppy Joes when I was a kid but this looks great. I'll give it a try with some tots on the side.
Absolutely...tots are a must
Dang Neil you and I enjoy the same spicy touches to food…..I like this combinations in your Sloppy Neil’s….I mean Sloppy Joes! Lol!! Nicely done mate!
hahahaha Yes sir...cheers
Another awesome cook. As an 70s kid I loved sloppy joes after a long night out!! I could have swore I heard my name at the 8:28 mark? Anywho, you guys rock!!
hahahaha Cheers Hot Tommy
AdamSandlers lunchlady song come so mind. Shloppy joe!!!! Looks excellent.!
Ugh, one of my favorites! My wife not so much, but I've loved these ever since my public school cafeteria days!
Absolutely
This is ANOTHER good recipe my friend !!! But what really makes this look so good is your videographer !!! She may not like to cook but , she sure can produce a video THANK you Amy ! Frank from montana....
Thank you so much Frank
This look amazing !!!!!
I would add a little pickle juice in the mix as well !
I will try that the next time I got the offset rolling.
Nice! As an aside, I used to dance under the name "Sloppy Joe" in the 80's.
hahhahhaha
Mmmmmmm, Those looked absolutely delicious and simple to make to, I like that. I like the idea of smoking the meat to, great idea. Keep these great videos coming.
Ok, good video. I'm new to the channel, and I'm still catching up on all the videos. I can't stop watching. My favorite is the homemade tortillas. Could you do cron ones next? Love the channel. I just got a 4 burner 36in and was looking on how to season when I found you and hussy, and them twins can't wait to use some of you recipes. You're my favorite, and your lives were awesome. I can't wait for the next one I hit the bell and the thumb 😅
Awesome! Thank you! I truly appreciate that..cheers
Wish I had smell-a-vision I know it smells good just like it looks. Delicious right there.
Definitely trying this one!
Those Sloppy Joe look very delicious Neal 👍🏽 . I haven’t had Sloppy Joe. since l was a little kid but looking at your version really is making me want to try your recipe. They look very tasty.
Thanks bud
Those looked absolutely delicious! I've never smoked mine before, but I will next time. I do everything just like you did, but I go one step more. I add Hot Pace Picante salsa to mine. Great video, guys 👍
Did these last night. Raining like a cow ******** on a flat rock. So “smoked” the meat on my Weber gas with a pellet tube, and finished inside on cast iron. Dude.. You nailed it. 👍
Hey thats what Im talking about....cheers..
You’re like a magician on that griddle! I really need to convince my wife that I need one. From all your videos, seems like the Weber is the way to go.
Hey I appreciate that...Weber is definitely a good one...
I will be trying this. My son loves Sloppy Joe’s. The smoke is a game changer
Absolutely
This looks amazing!
Looks good!
Great job, gonna try it
Man that takes me back to my childhood. My Mom made made some mean Sloppy Joes when I was younger (of course we didn't have a smoker) but, she did add liquid smoke because my Dad insisted that thay have some smoke flavor. If he were alive today he would make them in an instant. He loved the grill. I'm 71 years old now and have been pondering a griddle but...........I just don't know how the Wife would take that although I do know how to cook. We'll see what happens when I bring it up. It's so hot here in S.C. I really don't want to start the grill. LOL.
Looks great
Those Boars Head pickles are Frankenstein phenomenal
I've always loved a good sloppy joe... that looks delicious...👍👍
Sloppy Joes here in Australia are something you wear, not eat! I'll definitely be trying this, without the bell peppers and pickles. Both are blergh! Looked absolutely delicious!
Looks really good 👍
Nice take on a family favorite. We make ours on the sweet side with brown sugar. But I will try this. Thanks Navy!
Great Job, enjoy how you explain everything 👍🏻
I really like this!
Thank you....
That is a whole different level of skill! Nice work FTK👍🏻
Yes sir...Hooch..hope all is well...cheers...
That looks like a fun take on the traditional.
I gotta try this one soon!
Just made something similar for our members channel...so dang good...we actually wil make something like that for my new channel soon...pellets and pits...
Dang it Neal, fantastic! This looks amazing good job as always Cheers brother 🍻
Great video brother. Keep'em coming
Thanks! Will do!
Another great looking sandwich I think I will try very soon
Great recipe! Flavor, Flavor, Flavor‼️👍😊
Thanks Bobbi...
Love that smoky flavor. I cooked hamburger on the grill for spaghetti and it makes a big difference in a common everyday meal
Sounds great!
I think a HUGE difference in relating "how" to cook these is by using a thermal gun and showing the less experienced chef what temp we should be shooting for.
You have NO IDEA how helpful these videos are! A few of my friends are professional and published chefs, so when I show up with an actual dish that I can be proud of, that means the world brother!
👊👊
Bro thats a bomb ass looking sloppy joe. You did fantastic with the homemade sauce!
Hey thank you
Smoked Sloppy Joes. Hmmmm! Lookin' good! 👍
Wow! Great Job Neal. I hadnt had a sloppy joe in years.
Neal, those Sloppy Joe sandwiches look absolutely awesome. Another recipe for us to add to the collection and cook! Also I agree with @brodyschiess, that using dark brown sugar will give more of a deeper flavor profile vs the light brown. Thanks
Loved it! Nice job. We all play around with simple stuff readily available to make it better. I know how good that is.
Yes! Thank you!
Another genius recipe, Neal. Thanks for sharing this! Great sloppy joes!
Mmmm yum yumm that joes looks soooo goooood delicious thanks for sharing can’t wait to try
Hope you enjoy
Another good step up for a traditional sammich. The sauce especially gives it a little pop. Still no smoker here but can use a smoke spice and a little smoked paprika works.
Absolutely
Love your recipes and the instructions! Now...could you please offer some Flat Top Queen merch?!
We are working on it...
Mmmm! Love sloppy joe! Good job!
I enjoyed how you prepared your jalapeño...
Glad you liked it
I LOVE sloppy joes and this was amazing!!! The smoke, the sauce, the pickles...perfection!! And I'm definitely going to track down those rolls! Think this may be my favorite one yet!!
Yes sir....
Just did the cook but didn’t smoke the meat. Wife loved it!!!! I did only 1lbs of meat also. Btw my store had the amoroso’s buns! On sale also. So good
Good stuff for sure...cheers
I haven’t had one since my boys were young and dude that looks delicious!
Congratulations bud....Geauxxxxxx Tigers
@@TheFlatTopKing that was a hell of a game!!
I make dill pickle sloppy Joe's where I dice pickles and throw em in there and use half water half pickle juice to reduce for the sauce. No where near as fancy as this, but it don't suck.
I’m in for this one. The man can flat out cook.
Great idea! Smoking the beef. I make sloppy Joe's a couple times a month and I needed to kick it up a notch. Awesome guys!!! Thank you again for the great ideas. God bless.
Thanks Doug
Yum ❤
My son has fallen in love with watching your videos, he loves your intro with the fire burning around your emblem. Have you thought about using that on a shirt or hat?
hey thats awesome...no not really but now that you think of it...
Those look absolutely amazing, Neal. I happened upon your channel several months ago and I love what you do. Your creativity on the flat top inspires me to try new things. Keep it up. Also, what material is that black cutting board? It doesn't look like plastic. I've been looking for something similar.
Hey I appreciate that....its a recycled material...didnt think I would like it...but love it...not sure the material but its from cuttingboard.com
This looks amazing! When you make something and it leaves you speechless I think that's a good sign. And hello, the Arby's inspired horsey sauce is EPIC! This isn't necessarily a suggestion, but more of an observation. When I think of a "manwich" goo based sloppy joe, I think of molasses which makes me think dark brown sugar might be a good option vs. the light brown sugar. One of the Santa Maria BBQ style sauces I developed is molasses forward and I think it would tick up the flavor a little bit. I was trying to think of what I want to make for the 4th, and well Neal I think you have put me on a good path here!! As always, thank you for sharing!
Very good idea bud...cheers
I wish I had your cut’n, dice’n, slice’n, and chop’n, skills. Oh, by the way, that sloppy joe looks like mighty fine dine’n!
Pickle is the best garnish for a good sloppy Joe
Who’d ever believe that sloppy joes could ever look so delicious?
Me. I'll eat a sloppy joe on white bread straight heated out of a can. I love that stuff. Grew up on it
When I move my meat to the play/cool zone it’s time to grab a beer🍻🍻🍻
Kids won't like that one unfortunately. My weber comes next week and I can't wait to season it. I chose the weber because of your toast tests. Made the smash gyro yesterday and the wife loved it. Kids not so much. Turns out they don't like tziki. Cheers.
Hey thats awesome for sure...cheers..hope you enjoy it
That looks and sounds so delicious Neal! I wish I had a smoker. The complex I live at forbids it. Ugh. Otherwise I'm definitely trying your recipe. I might add a half a tablespoon of San Antonio red chili powder. Otherwise I'll keep everything exactly the same.
Hey maybe a touch of liquid smoke
@@TheFlatTopKing that's actually not a bad idea at all. Thanks Neal!!
@@TheFlatTopKing it looks like there are hickory and mesquite versions. I'm thinking of using the mesquite.
In Australia 🇦🇺 a sloppy joe is instead of bread 🥖 we use potatoes 🥔.
Interesting...what method of cooking do you use...fried, grilled, boiled, hashbrown style, etc
We boil the spuds 🥔 or microwave to cook, cut open & place cooked fillings in oven or air fryer. I’m enjoying your videos.
I think I'll have to study this one a couple times.
absolutely
If you leave the Salt out of your seasoning I would be interested in some
When I saw the 3rd spoonful of sloppy joe mixture on the bun I said "winner"! Creative idea Neal P/S Watch your P.O. Box for a little tool I use (hope you like it - haven't seen you with one )
Sounds good! Thank you...will check this friday
Great video! So we are considering getting a Halo griddle. We can get the 4 burner one for $400 from a store that buys out the merchandise from stores that are closing. This'll be our first (and only) griddle. Like anything new, there is a learning curve. One question I do have is how long do griddles typically last? I know on a gas grill, the burners start rusting and eventually rot out over time. Does it happen to good griddles because they don't come in contact with food grease? I know Halo has a 5-year warranty, so I would think it would last at least that long.
Well thats a very very good question..However and honestly I can not answer that. I go though so many griddles each year that I hardly ever have the same one for long
Will liquid smoke work on the beef? I don't have a smoker, but I love the flavor. Thanks.
better than not having anything....BUT....a little goes a long way...
I think the easiest thing for me to do is stop by and ask if I can do. Vulcan mind meld on you? This way i can get your flat top experience quickly!
Absolutely
Nice one 👍🏻👍🏻whens the big giveaway prize draw being done Neil👍🏻🤣🏴😎
We have done it....last Wednesday
I obviously never won then🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼nice one mate👍🏼👍🏼
Im eating sloppy Joes as I'm watching this Sloppy Joes Video
Oh my….
Manwich who? Looks fabulous. I’d even spread that on a hot dog 😋
I agree. It’s better than manwich
going to make one soon..is your hotdog chili going to featured on here?????
@@TheFlatTopKing only if I give you the recipe 😜
I love it on a toasted baguette and tater tots
Absolutely...cheers
Man, you are fast at chopping lol
Look good!! In the words of the Lunch Lady from Billy Madison "Have some more sloppy joes. I made 'em extra sloppy for yous. I know how yous kids like 'em sloppy.” 😅😅
hahahaha
Those sloppy joes look amazing.
Hey thanks Lloyd
What do you do in the summer about griddling?? Here in Texas we are at 106 degrees today. No way I'm going outside to griddle!
Yeah thats a problem for sure...Some days I wont either but I am under a porch with shade...no doubt it gets hot
@@TheFlatTopKing We added 2 outdoor rated Hunter ceiling fans to our covered porch. Huge difference for the cook in hot weather. It's still hot, but moving air helps more than you realize until you try it. Also since the air movement is from above to downward, it does not affect the burner flames like a box fan blowing sideways might.
Dang! Now that's a sloppy joe!
👍🏾
Thanks bud
I need to be your or the WALTWINS neighbor
I would be your best friend if you keep cooking
hahahahaha
Love me a good sloppy Joe sandwich
pickle for the win
Do a sloppy Joe. Onion ring. Bacon….. jalapeño Mayo ….. Sammy
sounds great
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄on my list Awsome
Yes sir....
Ok. I’m officially hungry….
thats the goal
@@TheFlatTopKing I'm going to have to start watching your stuff earlier in the day. Going to bed hungry aren't no fun....
Eat one with melted American cheese
Now I have to go buy a smoker. Thanks again.
ahahaha best two grill combo available
All men need in life from their wife is a "Mmmmm... that's good baby" and we will move heaven and earth for them :)
hahhahaha
Tell the camera man to shut up! 😅
Well thats my wife.....
Now that’s a sloppy joe fit for a KING 🫡😋👌! Of course I knew you wouldn’t use the can, or make anything that’s just plain ordinary Brotha. I would have been the 5th person to ask how are you going to elevate it 🤔. SOLID cook, I’m definitely going to attempt this. The wifey and my younger son will put a smack down on some sloppy joes. Cheers y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
Tater tots on the side....
@@TheFlatTopKing Oooo now your talking ✊🏼🧐
Crumbly joe looks good. Try sloppy next lol 😂
