Key Animator is none other than Hayao Miyazaki. It's not the last time Ghibli (or people in Ghibli) would adapt a Scandinavian story, they are currently making a series for Ronja Rövardotter, Astrid Lindgren's story. Wish it had subs though!
El Maccho Moomin wasn't finnish, The author was finnish-swedish and the books she wrote originally in swedish :) So it is tecnically a scandinavian story.
I love this, I don't think Moomins should hold guns etc. but people worked hard on this series, even overworked, I heard, so I hope it'll be fully found someday...
It's so much fun to watch the "raw" Moomin series after spending my whole life watching the lovely and polished Moomin animation :D That has barely nothing to do with Tove's original Muumi stories, since the original books and comics are maybe not so suitable for children, atleast they would'n understand everything.. :D Oh how I love Muumi things

For those who don't understand Japan Captain hit Moomin on purpose to make him hate him. Because Moomin wanted to leave home and travel with Captain. In the last part of the story, Captain chased after the devil to exterminate him. Moomin apologized to Captain after hearing Papa's story. It is a very wonderful piece of work. But the vector is different from the original; if the Japanese version of Moomin was aired in the 60s or 70s, the whole world would love this one. It is natural to seal it. There were a lot of strong animations in Japan, but Moomin is by far the most popular and the most popular national animation. Now that it is sealed, only a small percentage of Japanese under 50 years old love the Moomins. The black devil in the last scene is not Spinty. The design is the same, but it is different. Spinty will appear later. The Japanese version of Spinty is very kind and nice. He sometimes causes trouble, but he has no malicious intent. The producers, who were hated by Tove Jansson, were busy making the next Lupin III Part 1 as well. Tove Jansson is too good in the other direction. I get angry that it is not my work. I got tired of "Tokyo Movie" and quit. Osamu Tezuka's production company took over. This is the '69 Moomin.

When she heard the show was cancelled, she let the production continue on the condition that it would only be broadcast in Japan. In other words, it was not a charity. Everyone misunderstands. Huge royalties
