I just assembled my new T101 today 12-18-2023. I am very impressed with the quality and what you get for the price. I paid $600 at Dick's Sporting Goods. I took it home and assembled it myself. However, there were a couple of times I wish I had a helper...especially getting it in my home. The way it folds up to be moved and then having the tread gently float back down is pretty cool. It is quite mobile and easy to move.

Are you able to transport this treadmill in the back of a Honda odyssey with the seats removed?

First, I thought the sound of the treadmill was weird but now I see that it's coming from the mic that you're wearing. I think the sound has to be recorded differently.

It’s incredibly difficult to find reviews of any home fitness equipment these days….period. As a 37 year old runner who invested six years to receive an MA in Journalism; most all opinions are sponsored or influenced significantly. Subsequently you are appreciated in Portland as well as Chiang Mai. 👍🏻
I must say more explosions, graphics and baseless use of hyperbole would do wonders for the entertainment value 🙃
Kidding of course. Way to do what you set out to do.

Syd just requested a comment after a comment. I’ve used both. 2020 versions I believe. I’m rather tall at 6’2 190lb. If you are smaller (especially shorter) I’m confident you’ll be able to run swiftly (say 8mph) on either. The Sole is exponentially more pleasant to run on. If you are following a third party workout through an app such as Peleton….the extra .5 horsies makes accelerating, decelerating, accelerating again possible.
The Horizon will take longer to do the high intensity interval if a HIIT workout as you won’t be near your fast pace by the time the trainer is almost done.
I owned a 2011 Sole F80 for several years. I believe the 2022 F80 sells for just over 2k. However; the entry level F63 is a slightly less durable but 90% equal to the 10 year old model.
Thus, I highly recommend purchasing a new F63 as opposed to a used F80 from a few generations ago. They’ll have similar specs and only one will have a warranty.
Sole is manufactured and headquartered in the United States. While the U.S. is capable of making crap; our Mormon friends in Salt Lake give the ‘made in America’ slogan a lot of weight.
Sole products are rock solid and absolutely boring. Commercials are sexy and it all looks so neat hiking around with dude. NO. You want solid and you have a tablet already silly.
In short. Steady state walking/jogging you’re fine with either but it’s always nice to have 5 more inches of length so you don’t crowd the console. Horizon was acquired by Johnson Fitness who manufactures higher end labels like Matrix, Vision, others. They have roots in Wisconsin and Taiwan. If you’re going to be dealing in quality overseas manufacturing; I’ll take independent Taiwan over mainland China any day.
Before I get too geopolitically controversial (get outta Hong Kong ya liars!)*
      * these views are factual but facts of the reviewer and do not necessarily represent those held by treadmill review gurus (but you can bet they agree)

I am looking for a treadmill specifically for walking and my only reservation about the TF101 is the 55" deck length. I am 6' tall and around 240 pounds. My plan is to use this on cold days when I cannot get outside for my usual 3-mile walk, but the real reason for buying a treadmill is for inclined cardio...ideally 30-45 minutes 3x/week at 10%. Trying to understand whether the extra $400 cost for the Sole is enough to make the 60" deck worth it or if I can get what I need from the Horizon.

I share your physical stats and have owned a 55-inch long deck treadmill for years. For fast walking and jogging, it is more than sufficient space. I am considering the T101 but no store currently has them in stock for me to check out locally. The Sole is a nice machine but it is way larger than the Horizon. Depends on your space and if you can get a deal. If you are serious about the Sole, you might want to compare the Horizon 7.0 AT, which would be my choice over the Sole for the sake of saving a few inches.

We're not going to mention that the sole f63 is twice the cost of the T101. 🤔

I may have missed it, but the Sole F63 costs twice as much as the Horizon T101 here in Canada. So for people looking for a basic treadmill the T101 would probably be a better choice.
Or check out the Horizon T202 or T303 instead - they have the 20x60 deck and a slightly more powerful motor for a few hundred dollars more between the three models.

I own the Horizon T202, is a better treadmill then the T101 . I wished she would have done the comparison with the T202

I am also for short at 5 ft 0in and about 120lbs so I don't need a high weight capacity machine but I do run higher miles when training for half marathons and sometimes full marathons. I have been trying to decide between the f63, f65, and f80 but am still unsure of which would be best for me. Can the f63 or f65 handle high mileage from a small runner?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 года назад +2

For that level of use, I would go with the F80 because the motor will be able to handle it better than the F63 and F65. You'll be able to get more long-term use out of the treadmill this way, too.

@@brendakirk7250 How does the F63 compare to the Horizon 7.0 AT? I've been looking for this on your website but don't see a review of the Horizon 7.0 AT? The use case for both would be steady-state incline walking 30-45 mins per session for five days a week.

To me, Sole F63 is too long and we have limited space especially length for a treadmill.

Try eliminating the rise in tone at the end of your sentences. It will come across as more confident. Uptalking (sounds like you are asking a question), subconsciously conveys a need for approval. I'm a speech coach with 20+ years of experience, so I wanted to pass this along, especially because this style seems to be the trend these days.
