I didn't know. It's not like they tell me when I talk to them. Not that I encountered many to begin with, and They/Them is more preferable if I don't know what the Individual's Gender is.
The last lines in relation to melusines, it really hit different when you do the history of neuvillette because man... The poor ones suffered a lot in their first hours at Fontaine's court.
I know. You just know this law (and probably several other Melusine protection laws never mentioned) are because of…..you know who. At least things are better for them now. Plus, anyone who messes with the Melusines faces down a dragon in court and then a very Cerberus-like Warden in prison who is VERY protective of his Melusine daughter. (personally, I imagine that some of the prisoners who willingly stay in the Fortress are likewise fond of their adorable head nurse, so Meriope is a VERY unsafe place to be for Melusine abusers.)
