Just saw the Edgar Wright documentary about these guys and it's wonderful. I thought I was already a fan of theirs but I still found new sides to them. I recommend it.
A superb British duo. Yes I said British. They were born in the states, they have American accents, they may still have American passports. However the British people have adopted them as our own. Britain will always be their home.
Love it... Die Zeiten waren friedlicher, die Musik eh besser, bin glücklich, wenn ich meine Sparks hören kann, die heuer keine Sau mehr kennt. Ältere Menschen haben schon auch manchmal .
So ahead of their time, you can see they influenced Scissor Sisters/Jake Shears but they fall by the wayside and the original Sparks live on because they are so unique, charismatic and intelligent.
first 4 albums of SPARKS seems recorded in Lido's Venice...DEATH IN VENICE witn Dr Aschembach,Tadzio and Luchino Visconti...in maybe 1912....Interior Design "Album was a sensation in South Africa...local ELLA MENTAL imitators hit in 1985 a succes in Ellis Park see videos
Where and when? I can't see that? If Russell sounds stoned, it doesn't mean he is. He "normally" (on interviews) varies between focused and to have a drifting mind. I guess his personality, you can see (and hear on audio/radio) that on interviews from early/mid seventies. A bit of a dreamer 😂?
Most underrated band in music history.
Believe it or not, that's no lie!
Thank you, Mr. President
I agree, it's great to be different!!!
Are you a Ron guy or Russ guy, President Trump?
Without doubt also one of the best bands in music history.
Just saw the Edgar Wright documentary about these guys and it's wonderful. I thought I was already a fan of theirs but I still found new sides to them. I recommend it.
Saw them last night at Rock City Nottingham, an excellent concert , Sparks showed tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism after all these years.
I was there too. Great sound. What a great setlist. They really appreciated the fans too
They are very young at heart and Russell jumps around like someone 40 years his junior.
A superb British duo. Yes I said British. They were born in the states, they have American accents, they may still have American passports. However the British people have adopted them as our own. Britain will always be their home.
@@flimbar Haha, the girlfriend from Andover line really caught me by surprise!
You can’t do anything but love these guys
They had that edge to their music that took them above and beyond other bands of the 70s era, nice they are still making great songs today 👍
I was a Sparks fanatic I the 1970s as a young boy still love em!
It's nice to see they're still keeping busy in the music industry . Ron still has an awesome stash 🤟😊🤟
I love Ron when he is scary looking and all serious really makes the band interesting when live.
Ron is a very wise man, love to hear him speak
saw them live in berlin last night, their music has so many layers to it, they are brilliant.
So good! A band I’ve loved all my life , has their time in the sun! 🌞
I agree. Utterly brilliant. Sparks don't do sun, lol. Vampire skin. Can't imagine Ron wearing a mankini, lol nooooo
these guys don't look 70
Ron is now 73 and Russell 70. They were great when I saw them in Leed in May.
I'd give anything for news outlets to stop talking about This Town...the Maels have released sO MUCH good music since then
Saw Sparks back in the 70s at the Birmingham odeon fantastic music way ahead of any other group of the time.
The best POP music ever
They need to do the headliner at Glastonbury
Russell must have a portrait stashed away in his attic ... he looks fantastic for a man about to be 70
Ron hasn't aged much either, he's always looked like an old man!
@@NoxiousRob lol yes
saw them in Leeds -totally amazing -ive loved them since 1973 . mum decided to see them in london as well
Love it... Die Zeiten waren friedlicher, die Musik eh besser, bin glücklich, wenn ich meine Sparks hören kann, die heuer keine Sau mehr kennt. Ältere Menschen haben schon auch manchmal
.
Glück..
The funny boy with a false electric tape Ron moustache is adorable. I wish I coud have been in this video.
Amazing Music and two of the BEST DRESSED people in music
Astonishing Concert in Digbeth Sunday night 😃
I was at that show too. Fantastic.
Super band
Best!
So ahead of their time, you can see they influenced Scissor Sisters/Jake Shears but they fall by the wayside and the original Sparks live on because they are so unique, charismatic and intelligent.
Ron, what have you done to your magnificent mustachio? You decimated it!
Dinky Diamond what a drummer ..R.I.P.
So sad that he passed how he did.
An amazing drummer.
Their intelligence shines through, legends.
Was Sparks fanatic when boy still love em!
Titus Andronicus, A woman with an abacus-You mean that's not the usual pop fare? :-)))))))
Different in a great way. Groundbreaking in the 70's.
These Brother's are very intelligent & sassy. Comical Ron. And yeah, great music !
Best US band of the mid 70s, I'm serious.
They both are geniuses!!!
I saw them in Berlin years ago and my first thought, they would be perfect to headline Glastonbury... 2022 maybe 🤣
I think Kate Bush must have been a fan.
for dudes in there 70s they look fairly young , must be that la sun
You had me at "easily moved".
These 2 weren't born they were created from a historical musical.figures of the past
I don't like the comparison to Gilbert and George because the HUGE difference is, that Ron and Russell are brothers and not a gay couple.
You've missed the point of the comparison...
Legendary

Great band
Ron absolutely cracks me up.
Unequivocally, unique.
Typical BBC interview no response at the end,God help us all.
Indirectly direct!
I thought they were from the UK at first
Unique
Ron Mael sure looks like Leonard Nimoy. Have they ever been seen in the same room together?
Great Interview, I always loved the Sparks...Please can someone tell me the title of the song at the end 4:55 ?
heart
The original.Pet shop.boys
what a segue - Helen Thomas to Sparks
No one comes close to these guys.
funny guys.
Brilliant alway's💙
Fuck me they are good
Rain man
Is Russell very stoned? Ron holds up his side. Whatever, they're great and so is the new tour.
I doubt it. Neither of them have ever done drugs. They're fantastic without them.
Where and when? I can't see that?

Drugs were not part of The Sparks brotgers lives.
@@timheavyable , agree, that's why they are still so healthy and energetic at their ages. Neither ever smoked, drank, or did drugs.
Odd?.
No.
Not odd genius.
Ron sounds strange, like his dentures are falling out, lol.
