If father has purchased property in the name of son 20 yrs ago and all payments have been made by father, then how son can show this property in tax return and what source will be shown by son, while father has expired.
Disposal of property should not be shown as final tax in reconciliation. Tax is withheld by FBR which is adjustable and not final tax (236c is withholding tax provision) Rather disposal of property is chargeable to tax under NTR. If the gain amount is more than amount withheld than balance amount should be payable to FBR

Can you guide me regarding the situation mentioned below.
1 - 2 brothers received Rs. 10 Lac each as inheritance money on 01 Dec 2022.
2 - They deposited this money in a joint act on 01 Dec 2022.
3 - Elder Brother was the primary act holder.
4 - They received profit until 01 July 2023.
5 - Younger brother removed his money and deposited it into his own act on 02 July 2023.
6 - Both brothers are filing 2023 tax separately.
So my questions are:
1 - how will they file their tax return.
2 - Can they file tax returns jointly?
3 - how they will declare their profits.

As per law to ho ga but in actual nae ho ga
If father has purchased property in the name of son 20 yrs ago and all payments have been made by father, then how son can show this property in tax return and what source will be shown by son, while father has expired.
Inheritance of course!
Disposal of property should not be shown as final tax in reconciliation.
Tax is withheld by FBR which is adjustable and not final tax (236c is withholding tax provision)
Rather disposal of property is chargeable to tax under NTR. If the gain amount is more than amount withheld than balance amount should be payable to FBR
