I think Peyton once said that she had hoped their music would move people. I'm here to say that you have. I cannot think of one band or artist in the past twenty years that has absolutely moved me in so many ways.
Had never even heard of Skating Polly until a few days ago. Must live in a life that is far too sheltered. I've now listened to a dozen or so tracks, and just think they have a great sound. Have really liked each track. Am surprised that I haven't heard them on anything, but I am in Australia and am 70 yrs old, so perhaps don't listen to the right "channels". Have always loved good music, and this "group" is right up there.

Can I just say what a great song this is. By far my favorite song from Skating Polly. So much better than 95% of Rock/alt hits of the 90's. That is how good it is.
There are a lot of young bands trying to bring back the 90's right now. I was 15 in 1995 and this captures that feeling more than anything else I've heard in recent years. Just recently learned that Nina and Louise helped co-write this song and that makes all the sense in the world.

It's based on a graphic novel series and the movie itself has a lot of video game-esque elements but the music and story are more indie movie coming-of-age/romcom/angst than anything else. Probably it's more of a cult classic than a universally loved thing. But the soundtrack's been praised a lot - features Broken Social Scene, Metric, Black Lips, you get the idea.

This+ pretective Boy and camelot are my favorite Skating Polly songs, but this is at the top at the moment. One of the best reffrains in a rock song i know.
It's quite the treat to be along for the ride as these girls mature, sharing incredible music with us along the way. Loving this more refined sound and looking forward to hearing what you create in the future.
I often see people compare Kelli and Peyton's voices. Its natural to compare 2 similar things. I really don't think that is fair to either of them. They are like playing a chord. Play a "C", then play an "E". They are nice enough notes, but play them at the same time...MAGICK! I love how Peyton's backing vocals compliment Kelli's singing style and Kelli does the same when Peyton is lead. My favorite songs are their duets like "Picker of his Words", "Into the Caves", and "Morning Dew" There aren't many bands where EVERYONE can and do play ALL of the instruments. Kelli has an amazing rock and roll voice and an iconic stage presence. With or without Skating Polly she will someday be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Peyton is both shy and fierce, there is something pure and magical about her voice. I am looking forward to hearing Kurtis' voice in the next album. I don't know if you are old enough to remember Fleetwood-Mac. Their songs were written with a particular vocalist in mind (and they had three!) Without one of them you lose a lot. Who is the best vocalist? Who cares, its not a competition. As far as i am concerned, only Lindsey Buckingham can sing "Go Your Own Way". Only Stevie Nicks can sing "Rhiannon" and "Gypsy" and only Christine McVie can sing "Little Lies" and "Don't Stop". On "Little Lies" you can distinctly pick out Lindsey and Stevie's backing vocals, which is what makes it a Fleetwood-Mac song, not a Christine McVie song.
The other ones are good. But way more punk. This is... something else. I can’t place it. Does remind me a bit of some mid to late 2000’s type of college rock. Mixed with that unabashed female vocal rock vibes from like Heart maybe? Really interesting

I saw them for the first time May 1st 2019 in St. Louis, leading up to that time, most of the video I've seen of Skating Polly featured Kelly, who is indeed very talented. The biggest surprise at the concert though, was the sensational "rock and roll" voice of Peyton. When Peyton belted out "Free Will at Ease" it just about floored me and it became crystal clear what she really means to that band. R.U.

After touring for a bit I imagine they are all on the same page and the next album will be amazing. I hope he gets to sing on a couple tracks. I really love The Big Fit. I have noticed from live shows posted on here that Peyton's vocals are stronger and more confident. I think that is the album where she found her voice. The performances in 2018 and 2019 she is much softer when she is backing Kelli, almost to the point of not hearing her. I really like all the tracks on the current album. I am really hoping she sings "Don't Leave Me Gravity" live tonight at their 10th anniversary show. I think some early fans might not like Make It All Show because its more radio friendly, but if they want to headline venues larger than 500 people they need more radio play. I'm disappointed that the alternative radio station in Seattle doesn't play their music, despite recognizing they are a great band. The Seattle music scene is wide and deep, so getting tapped to be part of the stations Summer Music Fest is a big deal. At what point do you stop being a local band? Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Deathcab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, The Head and the Heart, and The Presidents of the United States of America were all local Seattle local bands at one point. It wasn't until I heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in new York before I realized Nirvana wasn't just a Seattle band.
