- Suede can be a tricky material to customize. For most sneakerheads, keeping that suede soft and smooth is extremely important and knowing the right products to use is key. Here at Angelus, we typically don't recommend using paint on suede. Paint may cause the material to harden and will lose that factory look and feel. So, that's where Angelus Suede Dye comes in. Dye will change the color of suede by penetrating the surface and leaving the it soft and smooth just like if came from the factory.
In this video, Enzo will show us some easy techniques to properly change the color of suede on a pair of Vans Old Skools and paint his own freestyle design for some extra style and flare.

Yes, you definitely can. However, we would suggest investing in a heat gun if you're looking to get into this custom craft
Salute to Enzo, because of this video I bought the dye liner. I always buy Angelus products and I didn`t know this existed. I got my package today but I`m nervous about using it. Just asking but has anyone use the leather or suede dye on canvas sneakers??
Yes, but be very careful. When working on Canvas we always suggest using our paints with some 2-soft added to it 👌

As long as the paint or dye is completely dry you are supposed to be able to wash them like any normal shoe. If you come across any issues when cleaning then it is possible that you missed some steps. This craft you will come across a lot of trial and error. The more practice the more better and comfortable you get.
Do you mix 2 soft with the black paint you use on the canvas material too?Or just the cream base coat?
You would mix that with any paint you are applying to the fabric material.
I bought a pair of secondhand black and white Old Skools and I'm busy restoring them to try make them look new again..can you maybe tell me what can I use to make the soles white again as I presume from age they've yellowed a bit

As long as you properly prep and and apply correctly then the paints and dyes should last the life of the shoe.

Is it fine if we wash the shoe after customized ..?
How long will the paint will last? And how can we can maintain it?
If you prep the shoe correctly, you should not have any issues with longevity. Of course you also need to take into account the wear and tear. You can maintain by using a mild soap, such as our Easy Cleaner.
Nailed the design and shoe overall then right at the end... No stuffers in the shoe makes them look floppy and uncomfortable. I only rock vans but NEVER without stuffing them and not over doing it.

No he did not. This is upon personal preference when doing detail work. Some artists use 2-soft for detailing some do not. Whatever you are more comfortable doing.
So as long as I put 2 soft as the first base layer the detailing paint shouldn’t crack if I don’t use 2 soft for it?
@@charmaineshea3510 It should not crack, but just make sure you do not apply too many coats or it can experience chipping and cracking.
@@charmaineshea3510 Yes, but of course this craft somes with a lot of trial and error. So If you experience any cracking just get back to it and fix the issue. Whether adding some/more or less 2-soft if needed.

Can you use Nylon matte finish spray on top of the water and stain repellent or should you use water and stain repellent on top of the matte finish spray or should you only use one?
Hey there! We recommend to use the Water & Stain Repellent at the very end for best results!
yoo the customs go madd, what colorway was the vans ?
We simply took some beige vans and changed the color of the suede panels using our Angelus Black Suede Dye. We also our leather paint mixed with 2-Soft to design the canvas!
Question!! When he does the black design on the canvas fabric. Did he mix the 2-soft with the black or no?
He did not. Just 2-Soft in the base coat however, we suggest experimenting and seeing what works best for you.

Hello....how can I get those angelus materials from Africa
What brush was he using for the details ?
How long should I wait between layers? And do I wipe off any excess immediately or do I let it dry then do the alcohol and water?
This depends if you are using an heat gun or blow dryer, and if you are you can speed up the dry times by using any of those. In between layers without those maybe 15-20 minutes. With a heat gun or blow dryer maybe 3-5 min. Any excess paint you want to wipe off immediately so it does not dry. This would be tough with dye as dyes are pretty permanent. So you will want to be very careful when working with our dyes.
What would I need to do to do this sort of stuff on van and paint them?? Anyone know need to know ASAP carnt find anything?

Hi, im interested in dyeing a pair of my vans scarlet red. Do you think the thin line that runs across the midsole of vans can be painted using your scarlet red leather acrylic dye?
We do not recommend painting that rubber material. It will come right off after some wear and tear.
what colorway of vans is yhis?
We simply took some beige vans and changed the color of the suede panels using our Angelus Black Suede Dye. We are not sure if Vans still currently has these for sale on their website.
Could I use normal acrylic and 2-soft 50/50 mixture on the canvas?
We cannot vouch for other acrylic paints, but I could tell you that our acrylics are A LOT more different than regular acrylics.

Our paints are water based. So they will withstand any water/rain!

I be looking at peoples customs and seeing that they still have a suede effect still while using paint on suede. How is that possible?
If you use our 2-soft and paint it will still look like suede but be a little more gummy. It wont feel exactly like suede but keeps its appearance.

Eventually, it will. Like all painted sneakers it's really meant to display and not really to wear around doing your daily activities unless you don't care, or you have money to burn to purchase more paint tools and "canvases" sneakers.

lol...We do have low-cut socks below the ankles that appear as we don't have socks on and some people do roam around without socks on, at the end of the day their feet stink and their sneakers will continue to stink unless they completely throw them in the washer.

@@LuZu_ Sorry, unfortunately there is no way from going from dark to light when working with suede. Remember, Dyes takes the color of what is under them. So if you dye something white with red it will turn pink. It mixes with it.

Depending on the suede, it can make it hard in texture. It is fine to use, it would be at your discretion since we cannot know what the texture outcome may be.
