Donny Hathaway's voice will always be my favorite. It is such a joy to be able to hear it through Lalah's. She is a talented musician in her own right. This performance really moved me. Lalah is truly a blessing.

You can always tell when a singer has technique. Even when the chords are vocally spent, they can still make magic. Lalah is clearly a little fatigued vocally here but who would know it?
Bravo Lalah! Your Dad Donny is so proud! I also have a soft spot for the composer of this song, the legendary Leon Russell. His emotional version during his induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with John Mayer playing an incredible and very tasteful solo. You could see them "speaking music" to each other, respecting and appreciating what they play individually. Musicians such are amazing inspiring souls!

au contraire, oh @BigWhiteBoy, we, her people and Devout Fans, have ALWAYS had Donny on a Pedestal, AND placed his daughter, Lalah on an adjoining one as soon as she took up where he left off - same as what we did with Nat and Natalie Cole (we tried to do the same with Marvin and Nona Gaye; that is a work in progress); we are currently doing the same job with Nina and Lisa Simone-WE never lag in elevating our talented brothers and sisters "up where they belong" and the rest of the world noticing later....
you might say we are Genius Talent Scouts - I am already anticipating the next wave of Talented Hathaway Singers (Lalah's child/ren?) - I can hardly wait!!!❤
