Nice reaction/analysis here. I actually just got the chance to watch a 20th anniversary screening of the notebook in theaters 2 days ago. Definitely was blown away by Rachel’s acting in this movie. Her performance was truly one for the ages.

It is DEFINITELY Ryan Gosling. His voice hands down and yes, there is footage with him and her immediately after the audition.
This is one of the greatest audition tapes I've ever seen. Every time I watch it I am blown away.
