Came across your videos a month or so ago. Since I have been watching everything that interests me, hundreds of videos. Years ago I bought a 29 or something piece lock pick set, really got into it and then lost interest slowly, very glad I found your videos as it has piqued my interest again, I purchased a better pick set, and have not been able to set them down. Thanks for the informative videos. I really enjoy them.

      K0ester Dear sir,
You commented that you purchased a better pick set. Could you , please, be willing to inform me and the general public, of course, what brand name it is that now works well for you.
I thank you for your input.

@@yinggamer7762 actually really good! 6 long years have passed since. Ive purchased many lockpicks and other tools of the same nature and have really ammased quite the knowledge base. I practice pretty regularly. I also have gotten into chemistry, and have made myself an amateur chemist. Have lots of glassware, chemicals, hotplates, stirrers, etc. Thats what takes most of my little free time lately, as I've since had 2 children, aged 4 and 1.

I’m FF and I’ve got my crew using this all the time now for non destructive entry. Old people fall and use their LifeAlerts to call us but their house is sealed? This works great. Before this, we either pulled a screen and hoped a window was unlocked, try to engage the garage door arm, or flat out force whatever door looks cheapest to repair or replace. We also use this to get into locked riser rooms, it works especially great for apartment riser rooms cause they have crappy locks. I bet we have a 90 percent success rate with these in getting the door open in less than 30 seconds.
The real cool thing was how much of a flex it was when I busted this out for the first time and got us right in through someone’s front door.

As a previous owner of a pick gun that didn't keep the tip parallel to the pins, and the double tap feature, makes this look like a good tool. I also like the finger tightening feature.

I used to replace factory screws with screws that have a nylon ball in the threaded area to fight vibration. Also replaced nuts with aa lock nut that had nylon in it. Helped a great deal, and no locktite to try to over come and none that ran down on the inside to cause problems. - DClaus

The firefighters in our area started picking for situations where they don't have to do destructive entry... They come in and take the old locks off our hands every once in awhile.

I've heard the same from a few other firefighters too - nobody is going to waste time when lives are at stake. I hear stories of them taking an axe to the wall on a hunch so tearing up a door isn't going to be a problem.

I'm an absolute beginner and have been using a DI-NO strong pick gun. I find that massively uneven bitting can deny access even in poorly made locks with no security pins. And for locks with more even bitting I find a snake rake or city rake is quicker and less likely to give you a headache from the noise. The pick gun is cool but at my level I'd struggle to absolutely recommend it above SPP and raking.

I bought this same/similar "double tap" set, Sparrow brand my case was black & my snap gun was a reddish colour. I'll be honest it has been the best pick-gun I have ever purchased. Living in Canada Lock-Picking can be a grey area. So I have limited choice on where to order from, luckily my supplier sold this particular kit, I was impressed by its packing alone, the picks it came with were of decent quality. It's by far the best pick-gun I've owned, little different then your in colour. The quality can be felt when compared with them aluminum tap welded jobs. I think my kit was 39$ plus the 6$ shipping _2 days) great video

Hi Bill, thanks again for another good honest review.
I have a little problem you might be able to help me with. As you may have read in my previous comments, I have started my locksmithing course. It's great. We're covering a lot in such a short time. I still have those PDFs if you'd like them, they cover everything you probably already know and maybe a few things you dont.
Anyhow. There are very strict regulations here on purchasing locksmithing tools. The tech college I'm training at has an arrangement with the Locksmith Supply Company here in Sydney, only problem is, we have to purchase the lot in one go.
I exhausted all my options for funding and resorted to setting up a gofundme. Would you mind if I dropped the link here and would you also mind sharing in within your locklab community? If not, I completely understand. What you'll get out of it though is a great challenge lock in a few weeks time and a skilled locksmith entering the trade in about 6 months time and from there I'll be sending you more locks as time becomes available.
I would not have got into it if not for your channel so you've already done a lot for me in that regard. I just need a little help as I'm starting to fall behind in the course as I've not yet been able to purchase my tool kit. The kit has a heap of locks in it that will be ours to keep so as I mentioned, you'll get most of them as challenge locks eventually.

Quick question for anyone; I recently purchased a Master Lock 141DLF for 3.99 at a local store. I'm pretty sure it's just 4 standard pins, but some people on Reddit said there was 1 spool pin... Which i think sounds ridiculous, considering it's the first lock I've picked, and I did so using two paper clips.
The 141DLF is 4 standard pins; correct?
