  • Blender NPR shaders breakdown Episode 1 - Stipple Shading
    A short overview of how to achieve stipple/grain shading in Blender.
    I hope you like this new format I'm trying, I'm going to try and upload these as often as I can. If you have any shaders you'd like to see a breakdown of let me know :)

    Love this effect! Any tips of making the shader work with coloured lighting? I'm guessing the colour ramp is preventing this but can't quite figure it out 🤔

    • @cha8802
      @cha8802  Год назад +4

      sorry for the late reply, you can have coloured lighting effect the shader by separating the result of the shader rgb and just using a colour ramp to clamp the value channel. here is a screenshot with it set up: imgur.com/a/w12F2PD hope this helps :)

      @@cha8802 thank you for this! Do you have any idea if it`s also possible to have the area where the colored lights mix be stippled ?

    Is there a way to get the same effect in cycles?

    I've never used Blender but I'm sooo interested in achieving this effect in a 3D model. Is it possible to use this shader with glass, metal or a textured material like wood? Or does the color ramp force it to be plain color? Thank you!!

    hello there, fanstastic and clear tutorial. But as i know, it's impossible to stop the texture moving and glittering when rendering with camera moves. If somebody knows how to fix a texture on a object with noise/grain effect, you're welcome. Because when you want to use this effect in a complex environment ( like buidings ) with camera or cinematic moves, the results are horrible because of the glittering. Solution anyone ?

    • @cha8802
      @cha8802  Год назад +1

      you could try using the camera or window coordinates instead of the object coordinates for the voronoi texture. or maybe if you make a scale a bit smaller so you can make out the individual stipples will make it jitter less
