This will be a great hiway cruiser. Not sure if there are tall gears in the rear end. But a 5.3, mild cam, with A decent stall is a good choice for a car that isnt driven much. Instead of a 900hp plus 370 cubic inch or larger boosted engine that is a straight gas guzzler.
Slim is staying ahead by making and KEEPING HIS MONEY!!! Instead of doing what everyone else wants. For me myself when im doing a car its for my liking. Im not building it for others. If I win trophies at shows or get thumbs-up cool. But if judges dont like my set up and ppl passing by give thumbs-down then oh well. Either way I built what I wanted. And no one else spent a dime besides me.
Exactly bro… well said 🫡✊🏽

Why is it so hard to get a good quality ls swaps in dallas
There’s some good shops that do great swaps in Dallas, but most are not in Dallas proper. You gotta go out a little further to find the good shops.
@@RedAndBlackCollection any Suggestions that you know personally

Gonna be super clean when she's ready to hit them streets.... yeah, people saying why this or that HAVE NEVER BUILT CARS, and they assume everything has to be forced induction, dumb to the facts the right NA setup will spank them blower cars who aren't properly tuned or planting power. Lil 150 shot and it's G.O. game over....
Yessir… exactly. Thanks for stopping by 🙏🏽🫡✊🏽💯
Would of changed radiator ond put hose on other side also sanden 508 is better than the old pancake compressor....hooker shorty headers holley mounts and crossmember
Thanks for the advice 🫡
Interesting, I'm just wondering why Slim didn't have Bill at Ekstensive do the build? No knock on you and yours. I just know he's used them in the past and was really happy with their work.
No offense taken. That’s a fair question. The challenge with Bill’s shop is he has like a 2 year waiting list… Slim is kind of impatient. Not in a bad way, but he just wants his stuff done quickly and unfortunately that’s not how Bill operates. So alotta times Slim will work with smaller lesser known shops, so he can get his projects pushed through faster.
@RedAndBlackCollection makes sense! Make him proud and do your Thang. I'll keep eye out for finished product. Still debating if I want to change over to a LS myself
@@FlukerIII thx man! I appreciate the support ✊🏽
I’m going with a 5.3 in my Monte Carlo CL. What headers did u guys go with?
Already.. that’s what’s up. We went with some stainless short tube headers. I think they’re made my Hooker.
A 5.3 is all you need in that car.. it’s gon wake it up dramatically
@@RedAndBlackCollection Thanks for the info Bro…..
Fasho ✊🏽
Hooker headers or the best for a Gbody
Thx for the suggestion! ✊🏽
There's nothing wrong with a 5.3 swap I have a 5.3 in my 87 El Camino with A 4L80E transfer rear out of a 2000 Z 28th Camaro zexel torsen rear and it runs like a bat out of hell now I'm building a 6.0 with a 4L80E trans for my 71 Grand Prix at the end of the day its want you want.
Thx man.. I totally agree. Sounds like you’ve got a great project going. Keep us updated on the 6.0.
Not the hellcat lt4 would be nice
Yep.. exactly
How much horsepower with the 5.3
This one makes around 300 HP.. that’s almost double the HP the Monte Carlo makes with its stock 305 engine
Why not just put 6.2 and get 400 hp nobody does a ls swap 5.3 and expect to have power
@@cashsigns17plenty of people do 5.3 ls swaps and turbo them. All they need is a ring gap, and that 5.3 can take atleast 700whp all day. That 4l60e trash though
Why yall just don't get some new rims that's why we don't go to some of these shops being cheap especially when I'm spending the money
Wait… I’m confused. Can you clarify what you mean? We make recommendations to the customer, but ultimately it’s up to them to make the final decision. In this particular case, the customer didn’t want to buy new wheels and quite honestly, there wasn’t a need to buy new wheels. These wheels were practically new. He bought them brand new and rarely drives the car. There wasn’t anything physically wrong with the wheels, the paint was just peeling from the previous shop who painted them, so we stripped them down and repainted them for him. That’s a pretty standard procedure for most shops.
SS Goose
Lol 😂
Definitely should be inside not liking all the dirt its too clean
Agreed.. it was only out there for a day or two. Not our normal policy We had to make some room for a frame off restoration on a rotisserie rack. Another contributing factor was the pollen was terrible during that time, so it’s hard to keep anything clean at that time.
