The commitment from all across the globe is the starting point. Fighting climate change is a collective responsibility whereby the highly industrialized nations that release high volumes of green gasses should take the lead in resource mobilization for implementation of climate change strategies and projects. Without resources and commitment, little can be done to mitigate the worsening climate change impact.

we should also expose ourselves to more hot and cold conditions in order to better adapt to extreme weathers.

I had to write a response to this video for a class, and thought that I should post this here:
"I think that the majority of the video's ideas are flawed. There seems to be a lack awareness or knowledge of what is actually possible given real-world constraints, such as money, time, and culture.
An idea that the video kept returning to was that we should just change where we are planting certain types of crops, or just change the kinds of crops entirely. While I agree with the premise, there are major issues with this, mostly on the ecological side. Often, soil conditions in areas where farming has not already been occurring are not suitable for growing crops. Additionally, we have to be wary of what happens to an environment when a new plan is introduced. Are there associated pests that will also migrate and damage the logo ecosystem? Does the new place have the necessary infrastructure to support the growth, storage, and distribution of this crop? Are the people in these areas even willing to transition their land into new farms? I recognize that this is where it might be argued that this is why we need to adapt, but in my opinion, there are simply too many things that all need to be changed at once to get the vast majority of people on board.
This also connects to another of the video's ideas, where its suggested that a city's street infrastructure be rebuilt so that it could better withstand flooding. Once again, I totally agree with the premise, but it seems to ignore the fact that this is not a city simulation game. In order for something like this to happen, first, the city would need to summon the money for the project, which would likely be in the billions of dollars. Then, you would need to disrupt the commutes and lives of several million residents, many of which have much more urgent concerns. Additionally, a project like this would take years to complete, another resource that we are currently short on.
At the end of the day, I appreciate optimism of this video. I just cannot remove myself as easily from reality."

adapting to climate change is more economical and feasible than mitigating it from the source.

not really no. if we had taken action decades ago climate change mitigation would have cost us nothing and actually progressed society considerably. but we have been held hostage by huge corporations so their bottom line was more important than humanity having a future.

@@chiccabonita6269 i am of the belief that we will do solar geoengineering, and who knows maybe itl work out. certainly hope so. but decarbonizing the economy also has to happen, and adaptation one thing though, i think the public needs to push for solar geoengineering. the public needs to know its an option.

Why do we have to "adapt" to climate change caused by rapacious capitalism? Why not simply abolish rapacious capitalism?

Thank you! This is what I came down here to say! How is it inspirational to just say well capitalism is screwing us all so lets just live with it? No I will not just live with it; this video is talking about a bandaid as if it is the entire solution to a massive societal issue.

Other things takes time for them to improve, so it best if we adapt rather than changing everything rapidly, it isn't as simple as you may think
