I like a lot Titanfall 2 mechanic of when a team loses, they get a chance to get to a extraction ship and get a "smaller win", gettin a little bonus and feeling a little better about yourself and the game, so no one gets absolutely pissed
There are some rare games in which fun can still be had while not winning. Where both teams are very closely matched and there is a back and forth tug-or-war type situation where finally something gives and there is a winner and loser. Those are my favorite games to play. Fun for all in that scenario.

I don't think that dying in Escape from tarkov is inherently less fun than killing someone. There are times when I kill a pmc and I just go the rest of the raid without really "receiving" fun from the kill. And there are times that I die to a random sniper but I had a lot of fun that raid so I'm not upset about it. The pull to escape of tarkov is that it is supposed to be "realistic" of how you can die anywhere anytime. Which is where I would argue most of the fun comes from, not from the kills. It's not made for everyone but not every game needs to be made for everyone honestly.
World of Warcraft and League of Legends are negative sum games from my experience. In World of Warcraft especially in Raids either you win and only some of you get loot and the rest get pissed or you wipe and everyone gets pissed. In League of Legends everyone just gets pissed regardless and nobody ever wins.
