So Google just suggested this clip and I watched twice then liked and subscribed and watched again. I sat there amazed and then Google take me to a clip with someone explaining their original ARP 2500. Really I am more keen on getting a Behringer 2500 with patch cables than the original with sliders. I've looked at a lot of clips and yours is the first I have seen more than one oscillator. Thank you for showing us what a real system looks like and sounds
Hey David, thanks for taking the time to watch, comment and subscribe! The 2500 is a dream instrument for me and I’m grateful Behringer and Rob at AMSynths made a eurorack version for us to enjoy. When I heard it was being released I knew I wanted to build a rig I could grow with. This thing sounds big and it’s options while arguably dated offer tons of inspiration still imo. I only wish I had more space for another mix sequencer and 1027 sequencer.
Thanks! Been trying to get some practice some new techniques. I’m sure there’s so much more to pull outta this beast of a machine. Appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment 🙌🏼🙏🏽
Whoa, great stuff! Nice rig! I got to play with an Arp 2500 in college, and for years that was my "if I ever hit the lottery, I'm buying one!" dream synth. When Behringer started releasing the 2500 eurorack modules, I was like, "That's it, I'm finally getting into eurorack," but then I discovered DIY kits and went that direction instead. Now I'm obsessed with rack space and hp, and those 2500 modules are just too chonky, LOL!
Thanks for checking out the page, I’m glad you enjoyed the jam! Yeah the 2500 has to be it’s own thing. I added reverb and a clock divider but it’s worth it to even build a small set up to enjoy the 1047 filter and the mix sequencer. They both offer a lot of happy accidents in the sound exploration department. So diy a case and build ur dream rig, it’s worth it ;)
@@TheMachinesWon Funny story - sometime in the 80s, someone stole the keyboard for it, so the assignment was basically to make music with it just using CV and without the "traditional" musical input interface people expected. Sad thing is, that keyboard probably ended up in a dumpster somewhere when the idiot who took it realized it didn't make any sound.
Keep up the great work! It's been a while since I've had a session as I've been waiting to hear back from Behringer on how to calibrate the 1004's, mine have terrible tracking between octaves. Just got the instructions from them a few days ago and have an oscilloscope coming in the mail tomorrow :D Also! I'll be getting the 1050 come September, which will complete my collection. Can't wait to mess around with it. Now I just need another case and power supply lol.
Thanks Sean! that’s bummer the 1050 hasn’t come in yet, good luck with the calibration too! That scares me just thinking about it lol. I am building another eurorack case right now as well. Hopefully next week everything will come in. Been making some changes to my set up so I have a bunch of gear to learn which is fun but takes forever to get the hang of things
@@TheMachinesWon I had to forego the first batch of 1050's when they came in so I could catch up on the credit card :P special financing option popped up through sweetwater, so I pulled the trigger and ordered a 1050 :) I think the first thing I'll try with it is using the different filter mode outputs from the multi mode filter and see what I can get tonally. Excited to see what your next rack will be filled with!
@@seansnyder7744 I totally get it, after this new rack I know all about catching up 😅 that 1047 filter is a beast so you will love pairing it with the 1050. They’re the two best modules on the 2500 in my opinion.
Wow, what wonderful sounds you create with the filter modulation of the noise! I always tried to avoid eurorack but Giorgio Sancristoforo made me pull the trigger and a few days ago I ordered my first modules from the 2500 series (actually my very first module was the envelope generator... 🤣) Your system is amazing!, and this tune is one of the best I found on RUclips. Hope you will come up with more from this rack :) Could you please tell me what additional modules you use as multipliers and other tools on the right side?
Hi Dennis, thank you for the kind words! I have a few other tracks with the 2500 of your interested in hearing more of my music on the machine. Many more jams to come though! As for the secondary modules, I had a friend build the mult but any passive mult will be find for mixing signals. Then I have the fx aid as reverb and a dopefer clock divider. There’s also the AMSynths 1047k for kick sounds at the bottom. I’m not using it in this patch though. Good luck building your 2500. If I had more space I’d recommend two mix sequencers if you looking to build a very big rig. Otherwise get as many 1047s u can fit into your rack. They’re my two fav modules from the series!
@@TheMachinesWon Thanks for your answer, you gave me a lot new points to read/learn! :) The hint with the AMSynths 1047k is great, will order one soon! Is the audio / CV path of the 2500 good enough for passive mults, or do you experience any tracking issue? And may I ask you why you recommend to have many 1047s and not the Filtamp 1006 with the VCA instead? I have not much experience with modular synths (only by VCV rack) but from what I see the bottleneck of this system is the limited amount of VCAs, isn't it? How do you deal with that, do you have any workaround?
@@denniskubitza6715 happy to answer any questions you have! This set up has four vcas so I don’t feel very limited because usually I’m using one or two voices for like a pad or a bass and everything else for texture or rhythmic applications. This set up isn’t really a groove box so I don’t feel limited. I’d probably record everything track by track with a set up like this if I was going to just make music on it. Regarding mults I have passive mults, I haven’t looking into the tracking bc I’m not using this as a mono synth. I have a B2600 and that would handle those duties. This system is all vibes. I feel it’s strengths lie in it’s modulation capabilities but it lacks in sequencing options, unless you are going to get several sequencer or mix sequencers-which isn’t a bad idea if you want to use this system in a more traditional sense. Otherwise you have to get creative or basic. And if your going for a modified system like 2500 modules and other gear, my recommendation is stock up on 1047s as that’s where the power is in my opinion for the 2500 sound. I do like the ring mod as well but there’s prob better options out there for that.
sounds good - prob the nicest looking synth behringer made
Thanks! Yeah she’s a beaut 😍

In fact we could say this is the world best Behringer 2500 system on RUclips 🤗

Also I’m jealous you played a real 2500, idk if I ever would have graduated college…I probably would have stayed there to play the arp haha
