Hey! That's awesome. We want to hear all about it. Now just remember the craft ice takes a little longer to form due to its nature. So, once you plug up your refrigerator give it at least 24 hours. We'll be waiting to hear how you're sipping tea and enjoying the breeze. ~Tanisha
LG IS BRILLIANT! Do remember this! For example, if you are having a party at your place on May 15, with 30 guests who will have at least 3 beverages each, you have to start COLLECTING the wonderful balls of ice as of April 1st (45 days earlier to give you 90 balls of ice)!
30 guest and a single family freezer isn't that like comparing a commercial appliance/ commercial ice maker? A party of 10 sounds way more realistic you literally why a consumer appliance to be a workhorse....
I have a LRFX2416S and when I use the regular ice cubes from the dispenser, it instantaneously remove gas from any drinks, such as soda or sparkling water. That happens in less than 5s and the drink tastes really bad, as if the can/bottle was left open for an hour. I have installed a top notch whole house water filter/softener thinking the amount of minerals in the water could be part of the issue, but it didn't make any difference. Is that expected (I mean, loosing all gas before the first sip)? How to fix it? I will test using the craft ice and see what happens and post back. ps: I think this is discussed on this video at 2:17 mark, but there is no real life time scale, so I can't say whether there is something wrong with my refrigerator or if this is just how it (poorly) works by design.
We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.
Just curious if you were told your freezer temp was too cold. One degree is sufficient and actually recommended as is 35* for the refrigerator section. It’s only my thought that your temperature setting would contribute to a frozen water line. I hope you got the satisfaction you were seeking. Our fridge is just over a year old. I pray the ice maker never gives us trouble. Years ago my now deceased best friend told me never to buy a fridge with an ice maker. Her’s broke constantly. It was a Westinghouse. Take care.
It’s correct that this refrigerator does make round ice balls. The problem is they taste awful. I’m assuming they bypassed the filtration system for the craft icemaker because they taste like chlorine.
You could try in online filter upstream of the refrigerator or an RO system to supply the refrigeratorif youvhave a line to it. I use the Clearly Filtered brand on the supply line to my refrigerator. On top of that, I have a whole house 5 stage filtration system, but no RO system.
How long does it take for the new refrigerator ice to start tasting like ice vs like mechanics oil? It’s been a month and have thrown out several batches of all ice. Still has a strong taste of blah.
Hey there. To prevent any strange taste in your ice, be sure to flush the water line by dispensing 2 gallons from the refrigerator's dispenser. If it's the ice maker's first use, discard the first 2 bins of ice. Check if water softeners are impacting the taste. Replace the water filter regularly, at least every six months, and throw away stale ice. If these steps don't solve the issue, consider sending us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport so that we can assist you further. We're always here to help. ^ Diego
We special ordered a $4000. Refrigerator/ Freezer and waited 3 weeks for it and it came damaged in several places. They took back and we had it replaced with another one and are now waiting another 3 weeks for it. We have NO refrigerator and grandkids are with us. I have called LG and the store and no one could get it to us sooner. Our garden came in…….. corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, raspberries and blackberries. No refrigeration. I’m sickened about it. I don’t know who is responsible but I have pictures and it looked like it had turned over on the front.

Purchased a refrigerator 3 years ago and like a lot of people who were part of the class action lawsuit our refrigerator stopped working. 3 years? That is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot and will not ever recommend LG products. Oh and if they even cover the food loss which they probably wont they will offer you a fraction of what you lost and call it a customer "courtesy". What a joke
We have had a similar experience. We too will never purchase any LG products after what we went through. Appliance salesman have told us the reason they push the product is because its profit margin is larger for them than other brands. Then there’s their rinky dink service, that too is a joke. Understand how long it takes for an authorized service tech to fix it, only to have it go out again in just a few short months. it’s my opinion LG needs to get out of the appliance business. @@LGUSAYou know what's not "different?" I read that LG is forcing ALL consumers to waive right to sue and to agree to forced arbitration, while knowingly pumping out cheap fridges that are designed to break. 🤷🏽♂️

@@LGUSAI brought an LG refrigerator from Home Depot on the clearance section I did purchase the warranty and I plan to return it because of the water filter issue. The water taste horrible and yes I did do the whole 30 60 water thing and I did replace the water filter and turned it until the 2nd notch and it’s still an issue. I’m never purchasing LG product ever again
Short of buying a standalone commercial ice machine, do you have a way to make the faster than that? The clear ice gizmo I use makes 4 clear cubes in 48 hours, so this would be a step up for me. And way easier.

Did they get out of the class action lawsuit of the compressor or the inverter? I am looking into LRFXC2416D.

I am not a drinker of alcohol, how can I turn craft ice off.
There’s an off switch inside just above the ice container.

I can tell from the video they had to do a few takes to get the guy to say that without cracking up.
