You realize that invincible all powerful characters are no fun to watch or read about.
Characters cannot always go 100% at all times. Superman TAS or the fact that bend's control over the omnitrix would change from master control to none every episode.

SAMEEE i dunno why fellow ben 10 enthusiasts back then never talked about her. She's so cool. I would always wait for an episode where she casts a spell and then I would listen carefully and jot it down. I even thought she's stronger than ben in a lot of aspects but the writers seem to dumb down her ability. Her shields would often break when it's evident that she can actually create strong shields in some episodes, especially in the classics. She would also be knocked out frequently or implore for assistance when in fact she's stronger than them.

but if u wanna ask me...i think her cousin Sunny is stronger than Gwen herself...it's bcoz Sunny is among Anodites and gets to practice...but Gwen is all alone w her powers...Also, during their fight, Sunny proved to be able to absorb or "shatter" Gwen's energy attacks...

This is an example of a show where they create a side character far more interesting than the main character so they do everything they can to nerf her powers whilst trying to not piss of the stans
technically the omnitrix is better, an antidote is a alien itself so ben could just replicate those powers nd alien x is stronger, nd they didn't really nerf her her not having good control of her mana made sense bc shes self taught, it wouldn't make sense if she just became all knowing abt her powers

the writers restricted gwen a lot. they should have a spin off show based on her character & her true antodite form.

Actually, I think it's about her emotions. İn Destroy All Aliens, her shield tanked a little spaceship's explosion. İn Ultimate Alien, her shield tanked Waybig's beam. Etc.

I wish she still said spells and not just poof it’s there. I understand that some spells don’t need to be said when it’s done so many times but for new ones she should says something at least.

I know I may be alone in this, but I love Gwen's powers. However, I do not like how the writers are inconsistent with them. 7:55 is probably the fastest I've seen Gwen toss her mana discs. Also why when she is making a barrier to stop something she makes it thin like glass? We know she can change the density of it like in 8:58 so why not make it thick or at least sturdy the first time so she doesn't have to keep doing thin barriers that can easily break?
The denser the shield, the more mana that is required. She'd weaken way quicker.

She's cast a basic shielding spell to block blasts from Charmaster and who knows what else without even breaking a sweat. As a ten year old. It's still inconsistent.

Because they don't want her to outshine ben. And it pisses me off. If she's stronger she can easily defeat her enemies even without ben's help.
@@RodelioLewis I understand that, but she doesn't do it often is what I'm saying. We know she is full of mana. Its stated in the show countless times. We've also seen what she is capable off. It's just inconsistent with her progression of development. If it was consistent then she would be able to do more of these things and with more ease as the series went on. Personally, I feel that she is more skilled with spells and using mana to power spells than using her own anodite powers.
Ben may be the main character. But during my childhood I prefer Gwen's power then the Omnitrix.
I always wanted to see more of this electric mana mode 8:24 of hers. We saw it in AF season 1 and thats it.

Agreed. I feel like instead of making her stronger they made her weaker. And you can clearly notice how in season 1 and 2 she kicked a lot of ass, for example that time when she fought a big number of forever knights
Season 3 was a huge downgrade in general. They made Vilgax not intimidating at all despite the new powers, they had Ben revert to his jerk immature self, he lost ALL his character development he had in season 1 and 2, they brought back the mistransformations which took away all the years of experience Ben had with the Omnitrix, and the list goes on.
At least the season finale was dope
@Toxic Forreal, he had one of the coolest powers, both practically and visually. At least the return of Diamondhead was dope, despite the weird design.

Original series is preety cool. Alien Force and Ultimate Alien proved that Gwen and Kevin are aliens too. Omniverve sucks in the most episodes and for me is an alternative universe and reality of Ben 10. And the Reboot doesn't exist for me.

Her glass shields break almost instantly but the ones that are like indestrutible are the blurry ones. Maybe it depends on the mana she currently has or how dire the situation is. But tbh its terrible writing, she was way more powerful when she was 10 when she casted spells. Charmcaster's illustration of power shouldve been hers.
Gwen can still use magic spell it’s just not her primary focus anymore. When she was younger spells were the only thing she knew. Gwen is now older and in touch with her anodite powers so she no longer has to focus on magic.
She should focus more on magic so her shields wouldn't break so easily.
