California Linda shares what a fun relaxed vlog. Missed the socks of the day on this video. Definitely an Alaskan cruise is more relaxed than others, similar to a transatlantic cruise. I always bringing two books and a small speaker for my music.
Sock of the day was definitely in there, no worries! We definitely had a relaxing time aboard Serenade... it's such a different vibe on an Alaskan cruise, but we enjoy it!! :P
We were on the Nieuw Amsterdam 9/4/21-9/11/21. Everyone was spotting whales except us. We did get lucky on our last day at sea and saw a pod of about 8 whales all blowing at different times. Awesome! They also saw some on the other side of the ship as well.

Thanks for joining our fun! This cruise was our first visit to Sitka, and we were excited to return in May 2022 on Radiance Of The Seas and again in July 2022 on Carnival Splendor. Such an interesting place to just wander around!! :D

We had the same problem with late reservations for RCCL's anytime dining. After a couple days, we figured out a trick: when you're hungry (or as soon as it opens for anytime dining) go to the 'no reservations' line and ask to be seated in your server's section. Works like a charm & you don't have to wait until way past supper time to eat. We're early eaters, too, so 7:30 and later for dinner is too late for us. 👍🏻
You are both just the optimal word for “cute”. Enjoyed your video tour so much and the interaction between yourselves. BTW: No deck 13 on any ship..ever. Supposedly “bad luck”? It’s been a good number for our family! Have fun! Keep happy!
It's weird that some cruise lines adhere to the Deck 13 unlucky idea, while others (many European-based) consider Deck 17 to be unlucky. Serenade definitely had the top deck numbered 13, hah... which we find to be a lucky number as well!! :P
I know different strokes for different folks. And I respect that. But I got to tell you guys! A cruise to Alaska looks about as exciting as a road trip to Branson Missouri! But that’s to me not to others. My husband wants to go because he wants to go we will go but doesn’t mean I have to enjoy it. Laugh out loud. I really like your presentations and I am so glad you’re on a Royal Caribbean cruise it seems like everybody else is doing carnival. I enjoy them too but I am at RC guy. 😀
I agree. That segment was hilarious. Jay, I am sure that being 6'5', many people throughout your high school years wanted you on the basketball team. Apparently, it wasn't your thing though...your two-handed style is comical, but it is so great than you can laugh at yourself while doing those things - such a great perspective. I would have loved Dee's height when I played hoops (I am just under 5'10"); the couple of inches would've helped me.
Loved watching your day at sea so jealous especially when it came to the food and you showed all the stuff available was very sad that I wasn’t on the ship I could’ve helped you with that trivia we would’ve won every single game I am a trivia freak on all of the ships have a great cruise
One of my bucket list cruises is Alaska. I felt tears well up when you spotted those whales. I feel like Alaska is going to be a very emotional place to visit. As soon as I can get my health better I’m praying to get there. I always enjoy your vlogs but the Alaska ones you did 2 years ago, and I’m sure these upcoming Alaska vlogs will be my very favorite.

I find that there's less to do on Royal Caribbean cruises than Carnival honestly, it's not just the Alaska ones. That being said the ships are usually bigger and have more options, but the open/closed times are a bit more restrictive.
