    I’m amazed at how good Sarah and Munya were as a team, in terms of entertainment. It’s amazing because they were sort of two polar opposites. Sarah was more of a realist and knew her abilities and knew what to expect out of herself but Munya just had untouchable confidence where you would follow him into battle if you had to. I didn’t know about him before Taskmaster but now I think he’s fantastic.

    • @jackwang9536
      @jackwang9536 Год назад +30

      When Sarah was asked about the feather & leaf-blower task and how he ended up doing a crazy construction with tubes, she said, "It's like he was a bairn (child in Northern UK speak)", a little boy with so much energy and confidence. It's one of the sweetest things she ever said about Munya, especially Sarah doesn't have kids and doesn't want to have kids.

    • @Harvey1211
      @Harvey1211 Год назад +15

      @@jackwang9536 it’s amazing how the editing team made their attempt look quicker than the team of three, when the team of three took seven and a half minutes but Sarah and Munya took 24 minutes! Incredible.

    • @jackwang9536
      @jackwang9536 Год назад +8

      @@Harvey1211 I know, right? The feather task was a comedic masterpiece. The moment they went silent, think of those historic silent film comedies - Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, etc.
      Dara's team: Fern & John bumbling around, losing a feather, John bringing in a chicken, and Dara in a rage waving his arms around.
      Meanwhile Munya & Sarah were shown running around with a leafblower, pipes, a guitar, and they seemed so speedy & inventive. And all the while, they took 24 minutes!
      This is the genius of Taskmaster, they were able to use silence as a tool to manipulate the audience. Film schools need to study this task.

    • @iliketrains3495
      @iliketrains3495 Год назад +8

      @@Harvey1211if I remember right one of the (many) criticisms of the US version is that since it was condensed to half an hour, the recordings were cut down a lot so often a contestant took way longer than the edit made it seem, and it got repetitive as a result. But the feather task here shows that can be done effectively

    • @Harvey1211
      @Harvey1211 Год назад +5

      @@jackwang9536 it’s a bit like a task from Series 15 where they had to poke holes in a piece of paper and not talk to Alex or look at him throughout. You can easily edit out people talking to trick the audience into thinking they were successful… like they unfortunately did with Ivo Graham. The quote ‘please stop using me as a yardstick for failure’ still sticks with me haha.

    Munya is in my opinion the single most underrated contestant in TM, beating out Asim Chaudhry. Really liked his brand of overconfidence, and his Zimbabwe shtick was a great running gag. Add to that his great chemistry with John and Sarah, excellently solving the hand task and being the first cheater the show has seen in quite a while, he was my favourite part of this series.
    I also think he was harshly judged by Greg quite a lot. His song, for example, was great and deserved way more than 2 points. In fact, after scouring through the score charts on TM Wiki (going off the knowledge he's one of only a handful of contestants who never won a prize task), I found out that he is the only contestant in the history of the show to never win a subjectively-judged solo task. Even Hugh Dennis won at least two as such, and we all know how much Greg picked on him

    The best bits "bonus" video of Munya should include (read only if you've seen Series 14):
    1) Zimbabwe darts
    2) Zimbabwe Bow & Arrow Taskmaster
    3) Norfolk Panther
    4) LeBron James toilet roll
    5) Find my hand camel toe
    6) Balayage Wagwan
    7) Feather vs Leafblower
    8) And..."You can be rougher with these hips"
    I am literally laughing as I type all these bits. Munya is insane. Fern Brady has said on the TM Podcast that he's even weirder than she is. And according to Ed Gamble, Munya is easily the most confident person ever to be on Taskmaster.

    Him naming birds reminds me of me and my family, my grandma named a blackbird who keeps eating the flower seeds in her garden Dave because my dad’s called Dave and always pranked my grandparents whilst my parents were dating when they were teenagers. I used to call a squirrel in my back garden who used to come up to my window every morning for nuts (it’s a long story 😂) Jimbob and my parents used to call a hedgehog that lived in our back garden under the bushes Mr. Sniffles and used to leave cat food out for him.
