Domestic workers are not considered as workers by the state mainly due to their unorganized nature of work, though the employers and employees’ relationship is widely established. Hence the concern is on the regulation of domestic work with regard to decent working conditions including working hours, weekly off, annual leave, health and safety at work, protection from abuse and discrimination. Today in Nagaland, having dealt with the plight of domestic workers for years we see that domestic workers have become the property or slave of the employers i.e. to say that their pay, safety, security etc. is at the mercy of the employers.

I live in a town called most cleanest #Nagaland I have witnessed every house with a house helper, most of them are from Konyak and Khiamniungan... they work day and night, goes to Government run school which means minimum expenditure or no expenditure from the owners, some owners even stop them to go to school in order to finished their work... (the owner is non other than a teacher award recipient) ... what helper gets in return for his fulltime labour is the words of how much he/she eats... bitter truth... 😭😅😪😢😭

This is how i was treated by my witch sis in law when im in higher secondary school. I stay with them to study but fr her im just a maid for her. Now im a graduate working in a good highly paid private organisations and my brother already divorce her.

Honestly i m keeping domestic helper but i nva treat her like dis. She is like my elder daughter. To me she is everything n feels so empty n boring without her wenever she goes to meet her parents everysunday. She is cute lil angel who help me only to bring things like waterbottle from Fridge, or bib for my 3 months old baby boe, or bringing anything dat i cant go or bring wen m nursing or feeding my baby. She told not to me but to my neighbours dat i'v kold her to do nothing costgea is nthng to do.... She is actly d queen who eat sleep play dance watch tv goes to skol study n evn hlps me in my needs. Pls dont take advantages of d poor lil child .

Out of 100 domestic helper 1 might be getting a good treatment from the owner but 99% are suffering... I have seen a lot of such cases... Cruel owner are almost everywhere ....

Yes Lonely Orchid dats y parents shud enquir abt d owner first...... My helper i dont wanna call her helper but i will actly encourage my baby to kol her sis.... So my girl is actually who was interested to stay with me dats y i hv kold her m a working woman. So its difficult to handle everything when it comes to baby.... And i personally think dat d parents shud make an enquiry plus shud tell d owner to giv proper education to their kids or else dont send the kids to dose cruel merciless owner
@@ameimei5666 instead of helpless parents, the owner is the one who promises many like education phal dipo, moram korubo, phal pera rakhipo and what not.... but actually those words turned to be the most dangerous one... Solution is to fight for the good education in the village and stop sending those children outside the village..

Frankly I think subtitles will be a problem. Its a problem that the filmmaker wanted to talk about based on the region and people. A certain mass. Now imagine a Brat from Bombay who least cares about Nagaland and also wants a ‘wanderlust’ trip to Dzukou valley gets it with the subtitles. You know he will get a negative perspective of the place and the people and attach his mentality to it and my friend, that is dangerous. Its a problem that the local people need to sort out. Ive even mentioned in my comment, that the concept is true and good. Just suggested to work on the acting part. It wouldnt be good to let them think their acting is good when its not. It would be misleading them. So if you wanna help them, tell them their weaknesses and they will work on it to be the best one day
