I had never heard of that store. I guess if I lived around all these stores I’d be spending money like crazy trying all the different brands and things. Sorry I didn’t make it over for dinner, looked tasty! Would love a peek inside a Walgreens.
@@janealaska5438 Have you checked out Danno’s video he did at Buc-ee’s? Now that’s the Cadillac of gas stations! I think they are only in the southern states. I’m glad I don’t live to close to one. I would be broke. 😂
Yeah it's a pretty cool store. Cool to see where all the restaurants get their stuff around here, and the schools. You're welcome, thanks for watching guys! 😃
I buy during the holidays there pre made mashed potatoes just add a little butter and heat up, in the cooler. Also pre-made salads potato etc are terrific. I medium deli container of potato salad is $4.99.
We have to shop around. Different deals at different stores each week. Yes most of GFS are very good. Some of the prices are higher then a Sam's club or Costco but keep in mine you don't need a membership to shop at GFS . It all depends on if you shop at Sam's club or a Costco to out save at membership. Times are hard we look at all the ads each week and stock up when things on sale. And we in Florida here
My favorite pizza place was losing money back in 2013 because they were buying everything from the Kroger next door. I had to tell them about GFS guess they listened two weeks latter I seen a bunch of GFS boxes.
If they have sweet potato pearls they are fantastic , they are dried. GFS supplied our school I worked at. Haven’t had anything there I didn’t like. It may be a little more but take in account you pay no yearly fee to shop there versus Costco and Sams.Awesome store.
Yeah I was talking to my wife about that last night. We're going to go back and do a bigger shopping here probably soon. And yes I've heard they do supply some schools around here that's pretty cool. Thanks for watching!
I shop at GFS a couple times a year. I buy pepperoni in bulk then divide it in smaller amounts to seal in food savor bags to put in freezer. We make homemade pizza alot. Also those frozen dinners are wonderful. Pulled pork is good and we like the classic lasagna. I can assure you the variety cheese cake is HEAVEN lol.
Yeah that cheesecake is definitely going on the list lol! Thank you for all the info. Trying to get some good ideas of what's good there to buy in the future.
I liked it! I thought it was delicious Jessica wasn't really a big fan LOL! I didn't know we were down to our last four pieces of garlic bread or I would have. Plus I think we're going to Sam's Club this weekend so we'll probably buy a big box of it if they have it!
It's a neat store to see the stuff that they sell to restaurants, and schools. It is expensive for some stuff, but a lot of stuff is actually a good deal.
We get some GFS products up here in Ontario, Canada, at Wholesale Club (Loblaw's owned, caters to small restaurants & food related businesses as well as grocery items). I've found the few I've tried good quality. GFS doesn't have a store opened to the public up here but they do have a distribution centre and provide to food related businesses and have a presence in Ontario.
Smithfield sausage is good. The pies are good . My mother in law loves the eclairs. Also there frozen veggies are good.Like I said never had anything I didn’t like there.
I love how they are spreading products out across the shelves to make the stores seem fuller. Also I found that club stores don't really give you that much of a discount or a deal in my experience. I did the math once at Kroger when they had their comfort brand diapers, it ended up being more expensive buying the big value box than the individually wrapped 22-37 packs. Keep up the updates and good videos!😁
Thank you very much! Yeah you got to keep a close eye on some of that stuff sometimes buying the smaller portion is a better price. I see that a lot, I don't know if they're trying to get rid of the smaller ones I really don't know. And yes I see a lot of stores spreading stuff out. Thanks for watching guys hope you are doing well! 😃
12 Clif bars for $15 is probably a good deal. They aren’t very good for you…they’re mostly sugar, enjoy life and buy a Snickers instead, same difference basically, lol. I don’t know what you would do with a gigantic can of tomato paste, since as a family cook, you might use 2 Tbsp in a recipe…but I know they mainly sell to restaurants…or giant families…and I don’t know if tomato paste can be frozen. The 50 count bag of little chips is a good deal, I know, cause my husband loves those…it helps him to be able to have a snack, but not overdo it, that’s definitely cheaper than Costco or our local chains. The bagel chips are great with cheese, or just dipped into cream cheese, love them! I have only been to GFS once, around 2010, and there wasn’t this much that was made to sell for individual families, it was mostly restaurant quantities, so this looks a lot different to what I remember. Eye of round is good for pot roast, if the price is right. If you have a dog, the dog will love the bone, too, lol. You can make a pound of pasta salad yourself for under $5, that’s a rip off. Potato Salad is a lot more work, but, also cheaper than their pre-made. $12 for 120 cheese slices is a great deal…we had a dog, Bear, a big yellow lab, RIP, who was on a ton of meds, we used to roll the pills into American cheese, and would call the giant packages we would get ‘dog cheese’ (even tho we love it for hamburgers and grilled cheese), we would have been all over that price when we were dealing out 2 to 3 slices per day to get Bear-Bear to take his pills. The party foods look good! Looks like a great place to get a lot of stuff for a party! Ahh, the Totino’s pizzas…an old favorite comfort food…I liked them more when they were round, and I think they changed the recipe, but they just aren’t as good anymore, $2 for one of them seems high, last time I got any they were a $1 a piece…of course ground beef was $2 per pound, etc etc etc. I’ll have to check to see if they have one of these where I live…looks like fun to go through, if nothing else!
Yeah that's what I thought. It's a fun place to walk through if nothing else just to see what restaurants are getting. I like the blueberry crisp Clif bars. But I hear you they are loaded with sugar. And yeah a giant can of tomato paste won't do us any good LOL. I will say that big wheel of cheesecake looks amazing! 😃 There were some things that seemed like some decent deals, but yes I would probably only shop here if I was throwing a party or had to buy a big dish of something to bring to a party. It would probably just be the cheesecake wheel lol!!
@@AdventureswithDanno Hard to resist cheesecake period, lol! And, yeah, the ‘we charge 2x as much as candy bar, but we’re basically just a candy bar disguised as something healthy’ annoys me. I will say that things like Clif bars, as opposed to a Snickers or similar (can you tell I like Snickers?) likely have less processed ingredients, etc…they’re still a carb bomb. Sorry, I hate ‘deceptive’ marketing, I understand why/how they do it…but…I still don’t like it. (I wouldn’t be surprised if this one gets yanked!)
