A neutral third party can read and affirm understanding of documentation for signature and with notary. Illiterate doesn’t equal incompetent, which would prevent signature/agreement without Legal Guardian or representative.

My understanding from what I’ve been seeing in the news is that they told him when he signed the conservatorship that it was a mandatory requirement in order for the adoption to take place. As an aside, many people who are illiterate do still know how to write or sign their names. Additionally, people with disabilities who sign with an “X” (which I could be wrong but illiteracy could possibly be a disability? Not sure though) can sign with said “X” and have a second witness sign affirming they were present and it was them who signed. So all around it sounds more than just a little messy and at “best” coercive and not forthright

Here's my take , The Tuohy's influenced Michael to go to Ole Miss after he got scholarships to other schools but didnt have a high enough GPA to get into Ole Miss which is exactly what the NCAA feared was happening and investigating them for . They did the conservatorship to make it look like it was deeper because by signing it Mike was agreeing to let them make decisions for him until he was at least 25 which would look more legit then them adopting a 18 year old kid .

That album and Dionne Farris' Wild Seed - Wild Flower have made road trips, international flights, and workouts, and have been a part of my deep house cleaning, moving-days, house renovations, photo shoots, cook-outs and self care days for years.
