I love this line. Smell is nice, simple and clean Ingredients. Lasts for months. It’s been my holy grail for about 10 years. I don’t ever buy any other products so that’s nice I’m not spending a lot of money being a product junkie
i love the length of your hair . I just re-started my curly hair journey. I have up after using deva curl. long story. will definitely try kinky curly. Love all your videos. Thanks for the tips and inspiration.
My hair is 3a/b ringlets on lower half and 2c on top. I use the curling custard by itself on the lower half, and for my 2c parts I mix a little bit of curly custard with an equal amount of bounce curl light defining gel. It works GREAT like that for me. The curling custard alone is too heavy for the 2c bits of my hair, but with the bounce curl for some reason it's perfect.
I love this line of products, the shampoo is my favorite clarifying shampoo. One thing about the gel, it works fabulously but may cause flash drying with some products. The spritz is very good for refreshing.
@@30quaker To my understanding, flash drying is when a product dries your hair out super fast because it's activated with water and pulls the water from your hair to do whatever they're designed to do. I've fixed this by either putting these products on soaking wet hair, using less product, or diluting the product into wet hands. With the Kinky Curly custard, I love putting into soaking wet hair on wash day and then diluting it with water for pray-hands for refreshing. These products have a little bit of an oily quality to them, which I absolutely adore. I haven't found anything that enhances my waves like the custard. The shampoo is a really nice clarifier, though I agree with Luisa that it needs a deep conditioner afterwards. I really like a small blob of knot today mixed with an equally small blob of Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Styling Lotion. They're really great friends. :) I feel like the protein in the styling lotion helps balance all the moisturizing of the kinky curly line on those days when I know my hair needs a boost but I don't want to shuffle around my product line-up altogether.
I've used the custard, leave in and spritz. Loved them all. The spritz i use on 2nd, 3rd whatever day hair for refreshing. My sister who has very oily hair love the shampoo. The custard makes my hair take forever to dry, but the results are worth it 😊. Thanks for another great review. Your hair is looking so pretty and bouncy! My hair is to my waist, but you totally make me want to have a lob again!
Look at your volume! Wow! You are correct that the KC custard with another moisturizing leave-in is a recipe for too much. I've lived with it since Wed, I just couldn't go through the drying process again and wanted to give my hair a break. So tomorrow is a new wash day and a new lesson-don't be heavy handed with this custard! (any really, but I was way off this week) Also, love the short ingredient list!
Great review, the serum is the same like the custard but less heavy, so you can use it to refresh your hair without water, just put little bit on your hand and spread it on your hair, the shampoo din’t use it every time❤️
Thanks Sosso! I used it to refresh today for the 1st time and you are right, it is a lighter version of the custard. Took a long time to dry too but had a great hold 😊
I love Kinky Curly! All of their products works so well & have such great ingredients. I just picked up the deep conditioner, it has a protein so that’s exciting! I also find that my dry time is increased with the custard. I find that kinky curly custard works well with LUS. I love the spiral spritz for refreshes! Thanks for doing this review!!
I love kinky curly products. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner on my daughter’s curly hair for years. It works wonders on her hair. I use the shampoo on her hair once a week because it’s clarifying. I use the products on my hair as well. I have never used the gel and spritz, I will order them today to see how it works.
I love how your came out! I've used the detangler for years and find it gets out the most stubborn tangles and i love the slippery feeling it gives my hair. Unfortunately, I'm not totally in love with the KC custard. I like the fact that the ingredients are good and it doesnt have a ton of fragrance, but it leaves my curls so crunchy! By the 2nd day, my hair is coated with white dry gel. i'm only using about a teaspoon of each side of my head.
I have 3 a/b ringlets on top with 2c waves on bottom and mixed in. The Custard gave me flash drying I guess due to aloe? It makes me nervous to try it again.. 🥺
They market it as a daily shampoo, but i think its quite strong. I use it as a clarifying shampoo. The shea Moisture Curl and Shine shampoo and condish are great for daily use.
I paired Kinky Curly Custard with a little One Condition from Deval Curl I left in. I topped it with some Deva Curl light defining gel.. it was amazing. I kept my spirals for the first time, and the when I dry brushed my hair the next day, I got all this volume and the curls came back. It felt hydrated and had a nice soft shine. I might try it with no Deva Curl conditioner, more of the kinky curly and topped with the Light defining gel. I found that Kinky Curly Custard on its own was ok for the same day, but next day was flat.
Guuuuurl your curls are Poppin! Are you just living this no fuss easy method?! Lol!! I haven't tried these but would love to know how that serum works for refresh. I need to send my pics to you! My first is on my desktop and is the only reason I haven't sent it yet lol!
I would be careful with KC detangler, the Think Dirty App rates it 8/10 (10 is dirtiest) due to fragrance. Companies aren’t required to disclose how many/what chemicals they use to create the fragrance. That being said, all other Kinky Curly products are rated between 4 and 5 which is really great, so the 8 rating might be a very cautious number. I use their curling custard all the time, so I’m not trying to be a hater, just bringing awareness! It may be better to find a different detangler with a lower number rating especially if you use it every wash. :)

I can’t wait to try your idea! I was just wondering if those two would work together.

Thanks for sharing Eva McClellan! Looking back, I think I may had have a mild case of flash dry during this video 🤔

A good conditioner I heard is the camile rose custard. I'm going to use it with this line since they don't have a daily conditioner.

I haven't seen it in any stores. Where did you get yours?
Cecily Dossett the serum she meant is the spiral spritz, it is the lighter version of the custard, to refresh second or third day hair!
@@sossomelkonian7821 I oddly haven't had a lot of success with the spritz so far.

Can I use the custard without the knot today.
Thanks
I love ❤️ the way your curls came out. These products are amazing. I love them. Keep an eye out at Sally’s beauty for sales. 😉

Yes, The custard is definitely on the heavier side.
I hear people with fine hair recommend watering it down a bit!
@@heshketchum good idea! I've been doing that with the kinky curly detangeler. It works great.
@@Kate-448 I'm buying that one today! Thanks for the heads up, I was worried it would weigh down my hair and make it greasy
Kinky Curly curling custard is 16 bucks at Sally’s versus 20 bucks at Target. If you’re in the US go find a Sally’s to save a few bucks

so is their shampoo a clarifying shampoo not a daily shampoo? I need a shampoo when I wash- a daily shampoo

They have a deep conditioner called "stellar strands".

Where can you even find this product now? Due to COVID 19, I see that it’s sold out on Amazon.

Thanks for sharing Spirituael. Just be carful with this app. 😉
This app spreads fake information.
I would be surprised if it was because of the fragrance. I barely notice any scent at all.
