I think when he says "I got murder on my mind" he's not talking about how he wants to go and kill people, I think he's talking about his guilt for killing a friend in the past (second verse)

the actual story.
the song released in 2017, the murders of his friends YNW sakchaser and YNW Juvy were in October of 2018. Melly posted a tribute to them and for about 4 months (til Feb) it was all calm. Then out of no where they accused him and his other affiliate YNW Bortlen with their murder. There is major suspicion against Melly but he turned himself in pleading it wasn’t him. Now Mellys mother, his own mother, released a video of her talking to Sakchaser saying he pulled a gun on her.. giving melly the intent to do this potentionally. so it’s not looking good.
also listen to Mind on my Murder next. Melly is extremely talented, and we really don’t wanna see it go to waste. he has like split personality disorder or something like that and he named the other side “Melvin” and he’s like fucking insane. he’s so young too, it’s a sad story

I like him but he is 100% guilty and will be in prison for decades at least so he's finished. They know he shot them from the left but they faked the "drive bye" from the right side, they have their phones all tracked to the car and found out where the shooting happened from where the car stopped by tracking their phones and finding the bullet shells, one shell was also found in the car in Melly's seat that they know Melly was sitting in as they have him on video going into the car like 20 minutes before the shootings.
They also know they lied as they said they went straight to hospital after the shooting when they actually drove around for over half an hour then the car stopped, Melly left as his phone was tracked leaving while the other phones in the car then went to hospital.
Melly will plead not guilty and then they will try to make out he was insane and didnt know what he was going through mental illness.

Andrew Barajas his vocals are too nasally and he doesn’t know how to harmonize, i think that what i said is especially prevalent in songs like MAMA CRY, like shit man i’ve given him a chance and i wanted to like him (as an artist) but i can’t like him because he is utterly annoying when he talks or “sings.” idk what it is about new artists but very few of them are able to create an appealing vocal performance, yet a lot of people settle and that’s why melly is famous (other than being a piece of shit human).

This song came out in 2017. He shot the video last year, and ended up going to jail for releasing the video. All of his songs were made in jail. BUT his mom said one of the friends who got killed, threatened her with a gun. This particular video was made the day after or a couple days after they were killed.
Also, this kid has bipolar disorder, and possibly PTSD and anxiety. He used to carry guns to elementary school because ppl used to pick on him. It's a damn shame he didn't get to see a therapist cuz he has incredible talent.

What I love about this song is even before the murder charges it always made everyone question if it were true. Not to mention that second verse seems so simple but yet paints such a dark vivid picture you almost dont even need the video and you can feel like you were there. Almost a sense of horror. This is the real story behind the song. No bullsh*t.
When Melly was about 15 years old, his 10 year old friend played a Home Invasion Prank on him, which Melly thought his house was actually getting invaded. This then resulted in Melly firing at his friend (who was masked up I presume). There is a part 2 to Murder on my Mind & It’s called Mind on my Murder. listen to it & you’ll realise Melly is talking from the 10 year old Kids perspective of what happened. Very emotional. But as Melly was a juvi, he only done a few years inside I think.
