You don't know that. At the speed that the plane was skidding, it would have gone beyond the perimeter and crashed into something else, perhaps a building full of people.
Its nuts to have a huge concrete wall to stop this type of speeding out of control right in the way of an emergency flight landing, simple flatlands or marshlands runoff so these disasters could have a fighting chance, poor design 🙁

Everyone is mentioning the wall but not anything else. No landing gear, so the plane would have gone further than the pilot expected but even then, I barely slowed at all after touching down. And especially after that angle of the engine burning out, I'm wondering if the engine was stuck on or at least wasn't able to go reverse thrust to slow them down.
I'm no expert but in this case the fuel should be released in the atmosphere and meanwhile the aiport crew should place anti flame foam on the pist so when the plane slides doesn't catch fire

All those pointing fingers at Boeing without knowing what went wrong is terrible. A grappling hook?! How would that work no way in hell would that work and actually help stop it Planes land at about 140 knots which is about 160+ mph there’s no way that would be able to attach to something without breaking off or just being tore off from the aeroplane
