  • These are the cone-shaped parts that go between the compressor blades and a combination of these and the stator vanes are responsible for creating compression in the engine that allows it to function. It took me more time to figure out how to hold the parts than it actually did making them but the cold section is really starting to take shape.

      nah its a super old one i got from my old school got it to a running condition it just isnt particullary accurate!

    Hello, nice to meet you. I would like to know what the plane of the jet wings is like because I am making a scale jet turbine for a sample and I would like to know its measurements.

    When you are working parts with that much weight ahead of the chuck you should use the tail stock and a center.
    Clean up your shop!
    Don’t hold parts you are machining with your hands. They are not steady or true. Not to mention that you only have two, human replacement parts are hard to find, generally expensive and of low quality.

      Randy goodspeed the conical shape peices are 6000 series aluminium can’t remember the exact grade

      I'd say aluminium or stainless steel, either are staples of turbine design.
