Great video, very informative. Doing the same rebuild on mine for the first time. Cant get the hat off on the drive unit. Seems rusted on. Any tips? Its difficult to hit it with anything!
I'd say take the bed off will make life a lot easier and it's only 12 bolts, 6 each end, makes everything a lot easier, there's 4 or 6 bolts inside the hat on the drive end, unless you mean the hub?
@@seggonscontractors588 Thanks - yes i have everything off. Removed the 4 bolts inside the hat, just cant get it off the hub regardless of the size of the hammer!
Good day mate , Great video , I have a Lely mower with a lot of play between discs when rotating wondering if a bearing replacement would fix it , so what was the reason you suspected the bearings needed replacing ?
There can be a bit of play between them as they will wear, but that all depends on what you mean by "abit" it will be number of things to cause play between them such as the flexi shaft that runs the bed may have a bit of wear on it, the gears that rhe flexi shaft runs through might have wear on it or the gears themselves may need reshiming or like you say new bearings! They're very simple mowers really, I'll do a video some point of things to look for on them! Hope this helps.
Mine came out quite easily luckily, but I'd suggest an Allen key extractor or finding one a little bigger and driving it in the head, the shock from hammering it in may just crack loose the rust! Hope this helps, OH! And lots of GT85! I find it's a better penetrating fluid than most others
It depends on what side the bearing of opinions on which way it spins so you have to watch which way the pinions are when they turn into rain gears to get them to turn into each other if you don't watch that you can mess up the hole cutter bar
Very informative video, did you ever make a video for the part at 12:25 my mower has done the same and I know very little about them, if you could contact me so I could ask a few questions it would be extremely helpful thanks
Thanks very much, I haven't yet as im still waiting on parts! Hopefully they'll be in soon so I can make another one, I'll try do a series of videos on the mower as it's quite an in depth rebuild!
