Mountain Mama: Classic Country on Vinyl Records (Part 1)

- Our original title for this video was "Country Music for People Who Don't Like Country". We have massive respect and appreciation for all the legendary Country songs and artists that have shaped and transformed the genre. However, we have spent much more of our adult lives listening to other styles from Rock and New Wave to Soul and Reggae. Most of the songs featured in this show we re-discovered while curating music for our Yacht Rock series. Many of the songs are ones we know extremely well and hold personal significance to us. It then occurred to us that we are probably not alone in this feeling. There are some songs that transcend genre, cultural preferences or even one's outward identity. Whether you are a fan of Country music or not, we hope you connect to these gems from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Oh Yes Waylon Jennings is my favorite, and Only Daddy is my favorite Waylon Songs :)
Such a great song! The Hank Jr version is great too though nobody can really full match up to Waylon.
can I say oh hell yes!!!! I love your channel more and more everyday. big hugs
Lol. That is exactly the response we were going for. Mahalo, Walter!
I'm back for another listen, Love It :)
Awesome!
Awesome Show and you know I'll be back to the best show on youtube
Mahalo, Walter!
That Eddie Rabbit song made me feel like I was a tiny child again crusin around with my mom. Thank you!
Raised on classic country...love it!
Awesome! So many of these songs crossed over to Top 40 in the 70s & 80s. It has interesting to hear how many are connecting with the music in this video even if they weren't raised on Country like you were.
Will you do the women of contry?!! 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kind of disappointed. I here classic country I think of the one and only "King of Country" NO not George Strait.. he's good just not as good as R.I.P. Merle Haggard.. At my house in the words of Eric Church .. "We pledge allegiance to the Hag." then you have George Jones, Conway Twitty, Don Williams, Vern Gosden, Charlie Pride, Gene Watson, Gary Stewart, Statler Brothers, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline etc....
Thank you for this! Great selsection!!!
Love all types of music and all your sets are fantastic Tim from NJ. !
Fantastic mix! Another great session would be "southern rock or country rock!"
Great idea! We have a quite a lot of that Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Allman Bros, Poco, etc..
A waylon picture disc!! Wow 😮 you are a legend luv
Seeing the first of that we used to call guys like that RexAll (drug store) Rangers because they would come in with huge buckles... starched 501 jeans... 5 X Stetson hats... high dollar boots that had never steeped into horse or cow shit and a shirt with pearl buttons. I will never claim to be a cowboy but my boots are over 25 years old and had cow and horse shit on them... been stepped on by a few cows and off the back end of a horse.
We need a country too and also where's your dog? Can't have country music without your dog LOL. Love you music I can't wait for part two of country
Mahalo for watching! Digging through the crates looking for more great songs for Mountain Mama Part 2. Our blue heeler who was in our earlier videos looked very country though unfortunately she is no longer with us. Our standard poodle still makes guests appearances though she not very country at all.
"Mountain Mama" is a reference from John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads", but that's not on the playlist. Hmm...
Love all your shows!! Especially your Yacht rocks, grooves/R&B, and love country!!!
Thank you so much! It so cool to hear you are enjoying the different genres. We appreciate you!
Do you have any country songs from 50's, 60's, 70's?
Love how your clothes match the genres!
Just a purist at heart, loved that you didn't go PC on us and used the "Original" Devil Went Down to Georgia by CDB.
Also a longtime fan of George Strait. Long live "King George"!!
Yes, so many of the radio stations that play CDB "Devil went down to Georgia" sub the line "you son of a gun" instead of this version. Days of censorship were pretty much over I thought, considering the lyrics of some songs nowadays!😮
Right out of the chute. Got me wanting to 2 step.💃
Heads-up, Z-Bear : Lucchese Boots is selling their 140-year anniversary boot for only
$15,995. --- That would be a really nice addition to your outfit when you're playing western songs.
--- Thanks for another fantastic upload. ---
Anyone know the name of the song after When will I be loved? @ 19:36 Its got Shazam licked!
That must have been a trip! Music was evolving everywhere in the '60s though not nearly as fast and dramatically as it was in the states.
so what was the name of the song?
Memphis Blues - Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith
Some Good Foot Stompin Music!
Looking forward to part 2.
Awesome that you enjoyed going out to the country. This video may be a tough act to follow in terms of epic songs though we're already starting to pick out some gems for the sequel.
Yee haw! Lovin' that Country Gal Look! Keep Spinning!
Thanks! Lol. This show was definitely in need of a "Yee haw". Took some restraint to not throw one in during the making of the video.
@@VillaVybes Tooo funny!
FANTASTIC
WOMAN!!!! I adore you! You're my hero! ❤❤❤
keep on playing that great music love it
Discovered your channel a couple of months ago and now you're my go-to when it's music time.
I'm a 'child of the 70's" and Rock was my music of choice. Early 90's, and I'm riding to work and back with some Country boys. They told my wife they'd eventually convert me to Country music. Took 2 years😅.
Keep spinning the vinyl and Thank you!
Mahalo for watching and commenting, Garry! Happy to see you on the country side of life 🤣
Just discovered your channel and looking forward to seeing more beautiful woman dancing and spinning great music what more can you ask for keep spinning
Awww...mahalo, Jason! We appreciate you taking this musical journey with Z-Bear!
@@VillaVybes You should do more Country music
I was reared on country music... from the bar room of the (Eagles)... lodge... to my mother's turn table, and (Grandma's)... kitchen... 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ yet one question still remains?!! Why compromise complexity when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?!! (KUDOS)!!! Z-bear!!!
Quickly becoming a fan of these mixes. Aloha from The Big Kahuna of The Mile High City, Yep Hawiian blood stuck in Colorado. Glad I stumbled upon your channel!
Onolicious…
Now that is a great compliment! Mahalo nui loa!
Listening to the wonderful Charlie Daniels band battling Satan- just always brings tears to my eyes.
Great channel. So glad I happened on to it. Now one of my favorites! Great job.
Love this darling, seeing how I grew up in a country radio station. 💗🤠
just awesome...thanks!
This is just SWEET!
