The song is as beautiful as the man who has composed it. It is a shame that those without the ability to play this song will be able to express the torment and pain they have felt throughout life, including myself, will doubt themselves in their ability to turn their torture into comfort through their performance of this tragically wonderful piece of music. I wish I could express the sorrow and pain I've felt throughout my life with this wonderful composition. There is a special place in heaven for people like you, Greg. I hope that the power of your music will be enough to keep those of us experiencing it for the first time from greeting you at the pearly gates.
Learned this piece about 3 years ago for my piano recital in high school, and now every time i see a piano, this is the first thing i play. Its also the reason why my girlfriend started liking me before we started dating haha, so thank you for that😌 beautiful piece
I discovered this song not long ago and it gives me goosebumps. This is one of the pieces that motivated me to start learning piano as an adult. My hope is that one day I might be able to play it for myself. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful piece.
I love this song! Right when I heard it, I wanted to learn how to play it. It's amazing that you are able to make such masterpieces! Keep up the amazing work!
This has been one of my favorite piano pieces since I first listened to it. I hope you continue to compose beautiful and inspirational music like this, Mr. Maroney. -Rhianna
@JoshMeyers2010 Try the Hanon exercises. You can then do them in a different key if they become easy, try D or C#. These exercises strengthen the 4th and 5th fingers.
I don't know ANYTHING - like, anything - about music composition, playing, whatever. All I know is when I hear something that moves me. Wow! This is phenomenal! And just as cool... is SEEING how calm, damn-near non-nonchalant Greg makes his playing look. I'm hearing like 20 different notes and echos and he's just chillin'... like he could stop and take a nap or play fetch with the dog AND KEEP PLAYING! Awesome!
I learn this piece right now and I'm about to finish it. Just the end part is missing. In a few months, there is an entertaining talent show or something like that in my school, and I'm hopefully gonna play it in front of my whole school. Thank you very much for this magnificant piece❤loves from Germany
Greg, wonderful song and performance, so much dynamics in your pieces. My favorite piece from you is Nature's Fury, I think it would be wonderful if you could do a video of that. Thanks for sharing your music with the world.
This is a pretty big piece of music. My suggestions would be to work on technique as well as the song. Make sure to practice scales and arpeggios. Exercise your hands with the Hanon exercise book. Take it slow and keep working on it, you can do it!
Yes it is! Either way, once I can spare the money for the scores, there are a few songs of yours that I'll be covering! But these college textbooks have to come first hahaha
Greg Maroney is it best to get a personal piano teacher or just go to college and take piano classes? I can spend Hours hearing one note after the other. Yani, Philip Wesley, Brain Crain, Ludovico, Helen jane long, Yan Tiersen. I just wanna play beautiful music like yours.. do you have any tips onto where it would be best to start? Thank You! Btw a Huge Fan for years now.
I would say find a personal piano teacher who can teach technique and "presence" at the piano. The piano is a complex instrument, and can take a lifetime of study to play perfectly. Having someone teach you the smaller steps to great playing is very important. A classical background is good, as this forms the basis for improvisation and composition as well as performance. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your comments, I appreciate it. I am glad that you understand the emotions behind the notes.
Not sure why covers of this song have 100 times the views this is the man right here!
I know, pretty weird isn't it? Hard to figure out sometimes.
Greg Maroney well you deserve a lot more recognition and this is my favorite song ever
Thanks, I appreciate it.
IKR it’s ridiculous that’s like if a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” got 1,000 times more views than Gaga’s!

Since I was 5 years old. A lifetime of work. But, with a little patience, study and work, you should be able to play as well.

@@Prkwydrv you are welcome have fun!
really good!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful! Side note, what piano is that you're using? It sounds like a Yamaha, but I can't tell which one
It is a Yamaha CS, which is their old style concert grand at 8'2". I don't have it anymore, though.
Thanks! I was looking at the CFX, and fell in love with it
The CFX is a beautiful piano. Expensive, but beautiful.
So what do you play now?
Yes it is! Either way, once I can spare the money for the scores, there are a few songs of yours that I'll be covering! But these college textbooks have to come first hahaha

Absolute Beauty
Also reminds me of Brian Crain- Wind.
