Hi i'm Korean. I've searched about how it works in those product's company. It says when you rub the powder on your skin, the product's combination of powder and water breaks, so that they turn into a tint!
Ok for all of you wondering how it works, I read up on it. They use the concept of powder emulsion. Emulsion is a mixture of two or more liquids that are immiscible (do not mix together). Now, they use powder emulsion in dry water where they coat water droplets with sandy silica to keep it from combining and turning back into a bulk liquid. In this case, they coat the water droplets with the pigment, and whatever other nutritional ingredients they put, and once it comes in contact with skin, it bursts, releasing the water.
I was just about to say this with my experience in my chemistry labs, thanks! The solubility of liquids can also change alter depending on temperature (usually needs a large temperature change though), so a lot of people weren't too far off.
+Tithi Shah we don't exactly ALL live on the beach. The closest beach to my house is like 1 hour away. But in Queensland there are a lot of beaches and everyone there lives near a beach pretty much.
I sadly do not read Korean but my best guess would be that it has a very low melting point. So when the powder touches your skin it melts/turns into a liquid.
tina, it looks like a regular powder but it melts. that happens because the particles of the powder are kinda lightly oily/moist and really really small. so when you put it on your skin the powder breaks forming a light layer of lipstick and the oil/moist thing helps the powder to stick on your lips. it's like some powder foundation and powder highlighter
Lancome just recently came out with a 'powder' lipstick after this was released 😂 and they're selling it 3 to 4 times the price of this korean one when the korean one was the original hahaha
The powder is modified to have a low melting point. With how fine the power is and your high body temperature will melt it into a light weight lipstick! :)
yes the powder is very fine so heat from your body would melt it also all lipsticks have wax in them to make them hard and some oil for moisturising. if you put lipsick on your skin the part that touches the skin melts slightly. also i have the feeling it clumps up after some time
I'm curious how it keeps though. Like after rubbing the applicator over your lips and putting it back in the bottle, will some of the powder in the bottle melt? Will it get clumpy after a little bit of time?
since lipsticks are made of wax, which melt in heat, i think they just dry a chunk of it and pulverize it into powder and once it touches heat, it melts into the liquid
Wow, I really like the idea of this..it truly is something different! The only thing holding me back is the teensy applicator, why did they have to go and do that?! Truthfully though, I think I need to try these babies out! Great review!
The applicator is that way because (im guessing) their popular matte lip "manicure" is shaped the same way to look like a nail polish bottle. Its cute and from owning the lip manicure, it is odd to hold at first, but you get used to it
Dana Schneider I don't, not mind if the bottle package look casual, cute, all I care is that good or beautiful or both quality :)) I want try this!!! Lightweight is all I want, I have super dry lip so matte lipstick is shitty kill my lip. I like semi-matte but lightweight, creamy. I don't know if this work for what my need. But it look amazing. Btw, I love their orange color. mostly now adays ppl tend to favor brown matte color, mauve matte, brown nude matte, plum color. But I'm die hard for orange, while almost all orange don't look good on me, but why I still like it LOL
Your eye makeup is always on point. You have hooded eyes and it looks so beautiful on you. Hope that you can do some hooded eyes makeup hacks soon 😂 by the way, try all of them!!! It would be fun to see all the products in on video :)
She has slightly hooded eyes. So yes, she does have hooded eyes. She has many videos for hooded eyes... My eye shapes are like hers, and I have hooded eyes.
OH MY GOSH! Tina!! I finally found the perfect lip product for me! I never liked using lipsticks because it's drying so I use tinted lip balms instead. The color, however, doesn't last long or isn't very pigmented. This product gives me all that I want. It's perfect! Thanks Tina! Love your Tina tries it vids btw!
your body heat essentially "melts" it because the powder is powdered lipstick. (kinda like how sugar melts but is a powder) i'd actually really like to try it. it looks pretty rad.
girl i am loving that hair color on u..everyone is talktting bout the stupid product that others have tried. but no one is commenting on that gorgeous haircolor u chose. love it tina.u look amazing.
I can see making sure your lips arent chappes for YOUR sake but don't ever do something to inherently please assh*les. People who leave mean and rude comments don't deserve to be thought about or have their words taken into account. You're beautiful!! Hope your day is good!
my best guess for how that works is the powder is a sold with a melting point between room temperature and external body heat temperature, hence the way it melts upon contact with your skin (turns from solid to liquid)
It's probably a mixture of grated cocoa butter or coconut oil mixed with pigment and talc. The heat mixed with the application process most likely combines the ingredients.
Monique Lynn really! did you see any significant changes? i have a lot of acne, black heads and really dry skin (ik its gross ugh) so what changes did you see? :)
+Fabliha Anbar yes! I think you're supposed to apply it a couple times a week but I used it everyday just on my blemishes for 30 min & I used apple cider vinegar instead of water! I also used the clearisil rapid action ultra acne thing & my blemishes have almost disappeared since I used both!
I thought that when the powder touched your lips it turned liquid because of your moist lips and dissolved leaving color but then your put it on your hand so I am guessing that maybe the inside of each piece of powder is a bit moist and when your rub it against something the powder breaks down and leaves the liquid.
I had a powder lipstick when I was a teenager! It was a berry color from Covergirl I just remembered I had something like this years ago from this vid. It was a Covergirl powder lipstick that came in a compact. Inside was the powder lipstick, a gloss and a small applicator. I LOVED that lipstick so much. I’d love to have another just like that one. Maybe this will compare.
Koreans are always like the top innovators of beauty. I wont be surprised if in a couple of months to a year, this becomes the new craze in American beauty, and colorpop and the likes will be advertising it everywhere. I'm pretty sure it works on body temperature, they've formulated the powder to melt at body temperature. lol I do wonder what would happen if this product was left in a hot room/car in the middle of summer. I want to try it though! AND OMG I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE SPRAY ON NAIL POLISH REVOLUTION! COMPLETE MANICURES IN LIKE 5-10 MIN. WHAT!
Yay, chemistry. It has to be some sort of chemical reaction to your skin to make a moisturizing semiliquid, and being a powder can increase shelf life.
Can you do a video where you reverse the application of highlighting and bronzing? Like a backwards contouring. Put the highlighting in the bronzing area, and vice versa. I'm a new subscriber btw ily!
+Erin O'Neill mhmm you're right... Maybe it's the temperature of her body? Like most people's body are slightly warmer than the environment... I think... 😅
Probably, you might be able to test it by putting it in a microwave, or like a double boiler method, but with just hot water underneath, not being boiled.
without feeling the consistency of the product, my BEST GUESS is that it is still a wax, just powdered instead of pressed into a mold to make it a solid stick. So if this is true, it turns into a liquid when it comes into contact with your lips or skin but remains a solid (in powder form) in the container. This also would explain why it functions very much like lipstick (i.e. it transfers on her hand, doesn't how powder fallout, etc.) But like I said, without feeling it, I can only guess.
I vote nail spray, the mask is pretty expensive compared to the nail polish so if you recommend it more of us can purchase them without breaking the bank!
+laura taylor That nail spray thing is a silly gimic, all you have to do is get 2 dollar spray on hair colour, put on top coat, and wash your hands... No need to spend so much money on spray on nail polish!
SO I could be way off. but the way it seems to be able to work: Is that when the powder is applied to your lips your lips are warm your body tempreture is warm and so basically it would melt into a liquid to the tempture of your lips. because we have moistour n your lips. The nail spray works, sort of, but it chips off really quickly. Also, in Simply Nailogical's video, she sai that it apparently has ingredients that cause cancer.
Almost everything has carcinogens in it. She's not inhaling it and probably not gonna wear the polish for a long time and I'm pretty sure there is the same amount in regular nail polish and acetone and even acrylics. Everything around you can potentially "cause cancer". I'm not trying to be rude so don't take this in a rude way I am just informing you.
They say that cancer thing everywhere here in California. Fast food places have a sticker on the window saying they use chemicals known to cause cancer, so I don't think it's something to be too worried about.
My aunt in the early 90s had this lipstick powder applied with a shadow brush. It was amazing, very pigmented and leaves a matte shiny finish. Not glossy but this nice sheen and yet not heavy like a lipgloss. Sadly I dont remember the brand
The way it changes from powder to like a creamy consistency is that they put something in the formula that makes it so that when it comes in contact with your body heat, it melts.
I can't remember which make-up company made it years ago, but they had a packed powder on one side, and a gloss on the other, I used to use. What I liked about the powder consistancy, it wasn't transferable. But when you put the gloss on, it transferred a little bit. The powder looked like eye shadow. It had an applicator, one side was the spongey eye shadow applicator for the powder, and the other side was a brush like a nail polish applicator. I used to hate it because every time I turned it around to apply the gloss, I would get the red powder all over my hand, lol. It was a drug store brand, I believe it was Maybelline, but I know for sure it was a National drug store brand.
Thank you so much for watching! Subscribe to my channel here for updates on future videos: bit.ly/2JFCtDr 😘
It melts maybe when it comes in contact with the temperature of the body..
It reminds me of a Lip balm I have from Sephora, it looks baby pink on the stick, but it turns into a brighter Pink when applied to the Lips
Maybe it turns it to that because of how warm your body is
tina sooooo beautiful love form kolkata😘
I don't know why are you so lovely and cute 😍😍

I was guessing that the skin temperature and pressure made the formula melt. But that would meen that it was made of maby wax?

maybe the wand/applicator thing has liquid in it, might not work the same way if you use it with a lipbrush
The way it changes from powder to like a creamy consistency is that they put something in the formula that makes it so that when it comes in contact with your body heat, it melts.
the warmth of your skin must melt the powder. so I would keep the powder in a cool place
+Tatum Comer or it is being pushed down and when powder has been pushed down it becomes lipstick
Did you use a lip balm as a base? I looked for reviews of it and someone said it seeped into the cracks of their lips
No she said her lips weren't cracked
+Mayeli Nino she said her lips weren't chapped , not cracked
If you listened you would know that she said her lips weren't chapped!
i think that brand is the best lip product for you in my opinion lol all the colors match you so well
I vote bubble clay mask
Also
Are you Australian
Just wondering
she is australian
+Tris Prior The bubble clay mask is my favorite mask ever!
I think the moisture of your skin wets up!? The powder maby I don't know 😕😉😘
Alice in Wanderland that's what I was thinking
Alice in Wanderland it has powered coconut oil in it so when it applies pressure it melts along with the other powered
Powdered
your eye makeup is on point!
It might be the heat or the oils on your skin and lips
Maybe the powder melts to body heat (?) Would be the only thing that makes sense to me xD
In the bottle: 4 lipsticks, 4 different colours
On the lips: 4 lipsticks, 1 colour
Am I the only one who noticed that?
Ana Marija its different colours when applied too
Ana Marja mee
Ana Marja orange and fashion red I could tell a difference but the other two I couldn’t (also the names were probably wrong)
Ana Marja because it stains the lips
Her lips are naturally pigmented
