But harnaaz was not called in crown unveiling programme. It was unfair earlier when new crown was introduced it was duty of reigning queen to carry the crown as she is the holder of that crown as well. But Harnaaz is so much neglected by MUO. It is not fair .. at least you could call her on stage during the introduction programme.

Andrea got 5 less months of a reign than she should have gotten, while Harnaaz got an extra month of a reign. Perhaps it would have been good if Harnaaz unveiled the crown, but I assume she is busy packing her luggage to move out of New York. She maybe has to take care of other obligations with MUO, and probably doesn’t have time to travel anymore. But Harnaaz has had one of the better reigns in recent years in terms of travel, so I’m sure MUO doesn’t have anything against her.
The Chandelier and Mikimoto for me were the Miss Universe crown, the first one was symbolic with the female character with sceptre, the latter so beautiful and unique.

The Chandelier Crown, 1973-2001, will forever be my favorite. Last worn by a Boriqua! This crown is absolutely lovely, but The Chandelier is forever!! 👑

So stunning. Such intricate design and I’m in love with the layering of the gems. It’s going to look amazing on stage and on camera. I’ll be going to Miss Universe and I can’t wait to see it live on our new queen. The new owner really cares about the organization and it shows in this gorgeous video showing off the new crown.
*Why does Miss Universe always switch crown designs?* From a branding point of view, it shows their fickle-mindedness and instability. they should stick with one iconic design. Look at Miss World, International and Earth - they maintain one look of the crown because of consistent branding & iconography. You want to make the crown iconic for the organization long-term-as in decades. Not just for a year or two.
And quite honestly, the crowns designed by Mouawad look too busy, too ornate. This one is visually congested just like the previous one. It needs some negative space and breathing room visually. It’s too jam-packed with tiny details. From afar, when the winner wears it, it just look like a piece of solid shape on the head. Up close, it looks beautiful but cluttered. It matters less how grandly expensive it is. It needs to communicate creativity & beauty not through the price, but more so on how it iconically and aesthetically looks. It has to be a cut above the rest, unique, regal and incontestably beautiful. Not just expensive. The design should communicate that this is THE crown, and not just some tiara.
That being said, i think the best crown of Miss Universe is the Mikimoto Grand Phoenix crown. It’s unique, extremely beautiful, memorably symbolic, truly iconic and incredibly artistically well-designed. When you see it, you know right away it’s a Miss Universe crown. When i see this new crown, it just looks like some crown from a minor pageant.
i never liked mouwad's design for the mu crown. DIC is a lot better. but i prefer the mikimoto. as they keep on changing the crown it goes to show that their pageant already lost its identity.

I agree with you. If you saw MU Thailand’s crown, you’ll be amazed! Both the Power of Resilience & Flame of Passion are also done by Mouawad but they look majestic & more fitting for a Miss Universe. This new one now looks like the Miss USA & Miss Teen USA tiara!

@@charots5847 but it’s the same organization. the branding should be more important than the new owner. from a branding perspective, often changing the company’s symbols shows fickle-mindedness, inconstancy and instability. sustained consistent branding is very essential for any business. and the crown doesn’t even look that good. it’s nice, but it is nowhere near “wow! now that is THE crown!”
Beautiful but I have to say nothing like seeing The Chandelier Crown on stage back in the day. It was THE crown, it held like a certain mysticism and elegance. Love the sapphires in this one and the design is very intricate, love that.
@Kahel Diamante yes, I'm not talking about how shiny it was. I was talking about the design itself and how iconic it was. You'll see it and you knew ok that's the Miss Universe crown. Now they're undoubtedly beautiful and with real gems and all but with so many different ones none gets to have that iconic place in the pageants history as The Chandelier Crown. We do have our favorites, but that one was The Miss Universe Crown.

Personally, I still like the previous version of the crown (the one that Sandhu is using) 'cause MU represents for the strength, the power and intelligence of women but this new crown doesn't hold these aspects at all- it rather fits for MW

It’s not my favorite design, but it’s not horrible at all. In a few years this design will become nostalgic. I just wish the Power of Unity crown would have lasted at least another 2 years.

The crown is nice but why didn't the actual Miss Universe showing off it off. Harnaaz was supposed to be on that stage since She is actually the right Miss Universe.
