      I think initially he was going to be a Laker in 86 ?? Seemed like a logical step to end his career in Los Angeles considering his time with UCLA and being a California kinda guy. Thankfully for us he came to Boston and though it was a short ride it was a great ride ! Or great trip in Bill's case :)

    I remember the 80's watching the Celtics and knew that I was watching something very special. Larry was a true phenomenon and unlike any other player ever in the history of BB. He just delivered, always doing the impossible, Larry constantly providing miracles. I've watched BB now, but I'm always totally discussed and let down in every way. No one hustles or seems to even care about the game, they stand around and watch each other shoot 3's.

    Bill's always praising the play of 'other' players. Someone should tap him on the shoulder and remind him of how great HE was. Probably, no definately the greatest passing center ever. He won it as an amateur and he won it as a pro

    Bill Walton should be a motivational speaker, he has the gift to lift others up, which is why I don't get Shaq's dislike for him..He's so positive and uplifting, what's not to like...

    P.S. That 86 Celtics team could match up against any team in NBA history and would have a great chance to beat any...including the 1996 Bulls, 87 Lakers, and 2017 Warriors.
    Even Larry said that its the best team ever assembled in NBA history...and Larry rarely said things like that to the media and in interviews!

    • @colderbeer
      @colderbeer 4 года назад +1

      They'd beat the Olympic Dream Team too.....

    • @anthonyzarate9807
      @anthonyzarate9807 4 года назад +1

      @@colderbeer I actually agree with that and also believe a few other teams could too. Like the 87 Lakers, 96 Bulls, and maybe the 2018 Warriors, and the 2014 Spurs, 2002 Lakers, 1983 Sixers would all be very competitive against them.
      The reason I think is because those teams were all very deep and had very good chemistry and (for the most part) played together for several years and all these teams were pretty stacked, knew how to win, and played their best basketball when it mattered most.
      I forgot about the 1991-92 Bulls. They may not have had the star power & HOF's as most of the other teams I mentioned but they had great chemistry and their defense was dominant!
      P.S. I did not like the Bulls but can't deny that they were a great team (although they did get lost of the calls).
      ...and a few teams (I wanna give honorable mention to) who would of competed because of top heavy talent are:
      2013 Heat (lucky to beat Spurs)
      2004 Pistons
      1989 Pistons
      then these teams played in the old era but want to give them a little credit because they were stacked with HOF's and all-time greats...
      1970-71 Bucks
      1971-72 Lakers
      I can't put any of Russell's 1960's teams on their because they did not have enough athletes to have a chance...and I was a Celtics fan growing up. I will say that Russell would have played great and been dominant in any era! While they would have been overmatched, they still would have been worthy of playing against most of the best modern era teams.

    Brian hardly has to say a word with Bill Walton as a guest. Bill really brings the game and all things surrounding the game, alive. Or maybe I should say Brian hardly gets to say a word, once Bill gets going it's over.

    As great as Bill describes what it was like in and around Boston at the time, you had to actually be there to understand just how basketball crazy the area was.
