I went to Randy's house for dinner a week ago. He's got the most incredible pieces of instrumental history sitting around his house; a black early 60s John Lennon Rickenbacher, old Fender tweed Dual Showman amplifiers... He's just the nicest cat.

I was in high school in the 70's and was lucky enough to see him twice back then. I think Doucette opened. Great memories. Such a great player, even without the Hendrix. Pleasure to see and hear.

Jimi Hendrix started playing guitar at age 15… so he played for 12 years. That is the genius of Hendrix.

Saw him back in 1976 at the Aquarius venue, N. Seattle. Took a few photos...then, maybe 8 years ago, I saw him again, at a now closed venue called Flight Deck, in Everett. I shook his hand...had a brief discussion...he seems like a nice guy, in addition to being the best Hendrix tribute performer of them all!

Randy is one of the GREATS! Love that he keeps in shape in his older years. I saw Randy with machin gun I believe in the 1980's /1990's at Toads place New Haven Ct. he rose up out of the smoke like Hendrix rising out of the grave, brought tears to my eyes.

"Probably the best guitarist in this chair"Jimi said that on the Dick Cavett Show. Apart from a humble answer, I thought this was also a very funny answer! We love Randy Hansen!

Oh hey Dave.. subscribed and this came up… I was driving for a few hours and listen to this..At the end he was talking about Lori and my uncle played in a band with her .. What’s my mothers brothers played in bands back in the day 70s.. they always talked about how great this dude was.. he was mentioning Scott Rosberg and other members of his band ,and a bunch of those people played with my uncles bands for years! There was a local dude named buffington that was another Seattle guitar legend.. OK I had no idea about the Apocalypse now appearance. Surprise that’s never talked about in Seattle legendary musician history ! I just glanced at Wikipedia, and it says the Herbie Hancock stuff, you guys never mention he was the writer Michael Jackson’s hit “State of shock”..! Plus the Sam Kinison stuff ? That’s why I watch the entire interview to hear what he’s had to say about it?
Just because of the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson affiliation? The question is did that songwriting make him rich? He’s never been main stream in the public guy but also been a very respected underground performer. But the question is ,did she get bank royalties for writing on that song.
How did Michael Jackson find out about him? Plus, Randy is known for being a guitar player and it says he wrote the lyrics? Lots of questions and instead it was Dave rambling on about stuff that wasn’t as interesting? Great guy and knows a lot about Seattle and music history but should not be an interviewer. Loved it thanks guys

That’s really F’d up that his son went to prison for a yr for graffiti… I feel like most people would be given community service… Maybe told to clean it up… 1 yr in prison is a long time.

At 10:30 in this clip of the making of the movie, ruclips.net/video/x1sHlO6oglQ/видео.html , we can see what Randy is talking about on the couch at 12:45. Randy played in the movie on the soundtrack. This blows my mind.
