I laughed so hard when she said "your locs don't grow because you focus so much on other people's locs" that are probably longer already. It's a fact. Even though I see growth on my locs I still get intimidated when I see longer locs and feel like mine are standing in one place. Again here's one thing I do and tell my self: 1. Every 6 months I take a picture of my locs in that way I get to see the difference in most cases 2.I always tell my self that dreadlocks is a personal journey that itself teaches you patience. You need to be disciplined instead of feeling intimidated by your neighbor be inspired. Lastly we all started somewhere with our dreadlocks they don't grow overnight. Enjoy and celebrate every stages of your locs
I needed this! I am a year in, and already wondering why They are not in the middle of my back. But I am embracing them and having fun living life! Loving me and this journey. I need that shirt.
Yessss I’m so glad this was helpful!! I know it’s cliche but it’s so true, you’ve got to love and embrace your journey, you got this Queen!! And thank you so much!! You can get the shirt at www.Locsandbusiness.com and use the code RUclips for $$ off your order!
I needed to hear this. I’ve had my locs for 4-5 years ago and my hair is a little past shoulder length now and a little longer in the back. I’ve been watching one of my close friends who started her locs 2 years ago and my sister a year ago and both of them are about to pass mines up. And I’ve just been like, what am I doing wrong? But this was helpful advice to hear
I’m so glad this was helpful!!! Yes Queen enjoy your journey, love your journey!! I know it can sound cliche because we hear it all the time but it’s sooo true!!! 💯💯🙏🏾💕
Long hair has never been an issue for me. I cut my hair and started my locs because my hair was growing fast. Therefore I decided to loc and suddenly my hair is growing SLOW and I’m discouraged. You’re right. Everyday, I’m looking for growth. Grrrrrr
7:20 Well i'm 16yrs an started my locs december 2023 which is last year an i keep feel like it is too late for me to get locs. when i was more small my father ask if i want locs an i say no because it look like sh*t and it smalls stink i just didn't like it so i told him that. if i did not refuse to have locs when i was little it whould have been long by now.
I admit the first year I was watching my locs every second because I didn’t believe my hair would grow now that I am 3 years & 4 months in I don’t worry anymore just have to have patience my locs are growing
Im 17 months the right side of my locs are ear length the left side is to my chin i was told i had to cut the left side like the right so i will have a mushroom at a year and a half i need help 😭
I'm not sure about this. Yeah we see people engaged in other's locs but that's for the moment. It's the excitement of it all for me. You were able to live your life and I was on the first year of my loc journey but now I'm at home being a mom most of the day and just like to interact with others with locs like yourself. I also have an administrative side business " Mine Our Business". I grew up around the mentality of people saying Mind Your Business but I always thought...if I minded my business only you wouldn't have one 🤷🏾♀️ thus... Mine Our Business. Helping each other 💜. Love your locs though
Hi Queen! It's all about perspective, right? So I'm talking about the people who are literally obsessed with other people's Locs. How can they appreciate their own Loc journey or even recognize their own growth when they are so focused on someone else's?? Also Mind Your Locs and Your Business can mean sooo many things!! It can mean focus on the things that you have planned, the goals that you want to reach, the things that you want to do, focus on yourself, your family, your friends, whatever your business is focus on it and thrive!!
@@Livingmycelestelife I agree. All about perspective cause I haven't reached that level of popularity when I've found anyone obsessed over my locs lolz, haven't really paid attention to what other people obsess over 🤔, and I was/am the obsessor at times but again it's for the moment and mostly for the interaction because I'm a stay at home mom most days. My creativity and energy is so limited with a 1 year old and being almost due with another one lbvs. Thanks for the interaction. I've had my liberation of exploring perspectives for the day lol
