Sheeeesh! But does it have a digital mixing app? That’s the only thing separating me from selling my everse 8 and going two of these. Sound quality is amazing and would be fantastic for that back room coverage even for reception
I love the wireless transmission of the sonic link. the Wave-Eight is just.....ugly as F. Give me something to cover the front. The everse 8 is just so much smaller/lighter; If I was going 26lbs and that size I'm going Everse 12. Great review Nick!
Two words... Ug & Ly. I won't compromise on aesthetics. I'm sure all the other companies will follow suit fairly quickly and make them look cleaner than this.
you too Spinelli, you too? You went to dark side, these crap speakers are uuuugly! stop promoting these bedroom speakers at the price of party speakers :)))
The wireless connectivity is a radio, just like microphone packs. This is not a new innovation, just good advertising. Plenty of DJs are accomplishing long range, low latency with mic receivers. The Everse 8 is purpose built for public announcements, which is why it has so many vocal effects, ducking, and feedback suppression. This pioneer unit’s back panel looks very dated. Everse 8 looks more sleek and high end, especially in white.
I'm not convinced this is better than the Everse 8 other than the sonic transmitter/receiver. But, that is doing 2.4-2.4835 Ghz which would make me a bit hesitant. I currently use a 5.Ghz Wireless system with my Everse 8s that work great. I haven't seen a maximum SPL for the Wave 8 yet (Everse is 121dB) and amp is 110W vs. 400W. I think I'm on the sideline for this one right now.
Passs. Maybe the next one. But the everse. With skaa Is a killa combo this looks like a Temu speaker design . And I know u can’t say it since u wanna keep them products coming in lol
Functions 👍👍 Design/Look 👎 - for weddings something more aesthetic is needed (and available in white). THEN it would be a nobrainer and bought immediately!
I hear you but wouldn't work even better in doors where it can bounce off of walls? Open space is more difficult for the signal. I'm trying it indoors this weekend
@@NickSpinellino, the opposite. Reflected signals can cause more issues. The biggest problem is guests though. People absorb radio waves killing signal. I’m curious if you have that box inside your booth with people on the floor and those across the room or in another room how they’ll do.
@@cduemig1 SonicLink to me looks similar to the apecs of Skaa audio A-link plus transmitters/receiver, maybe just build into a cheap black china box with unbalanced RCA and SonicLink logo

I like that it is built in. But its not that different from running an everse 8 with a sennheiser glxd. It is cheaper and probably consumer level but would you trust sonic link better than analong digital systems like sennheiser glxd or shure for a client facing gig? Probably not
@@NickSpinelli I was saying the wave eight is cheaper. I think that's where it wins. Small get togethers and events. I'm not sure I'm ready to trust 2.4ghz wireless systems professionally though

I like the wireless 🛜 but it looks like an old speaker from the 90s which whatever that’s okay. The grill looks like it’s some speakers you get at Walmart. Seems to bump tho in the parking lot. Where u at tho bro? Feel like a crackhead would’ve came out the woodwork and gank’d that quick. Thanks for the video. I’m not quite sold on either alpha products as of yet. Still waiting on the reloop /dj pro ai mixer to drop 🤞
A few cool features but it looks terrible. It’s also 11 pounds heavier than the Everse. I really like the wireless option but too many cons. I wouldn’t want to use it as a ceremony speaker because it’s doesn’t look classy at all.
I appreciate the ingenuity, but a speaker that’s obviously meant to be portable with an exposed twitter.😂 also hey alpha whatever if you’re in here we would like your supercool sonic transmitter/receiver combo stand alone product. Thanks.
looks like a 90s speaker. full grills are the actual trend.. I dont care if uncovered horns are comming back I would use again my awesome 80s and 90s speakers again ..sounds better than anything new.
I see that the sonic link is 2.4 ghz. I know mics in that frequency can be problematic. Do you think this would suffer the same potential pitfalls? I'd be nervous to do a ceremony and have them drop out.
Question? I have two of the Everse Eights. When you connect a microphone to one of the Everse, the vocals do not come through to the second paired speaker. Is this something the new wave-eight will do?
I would say that it would. I have soundboks 3s and they have skaa transmitters in them and they work like that. I will definitely check this out because right now when I don't want to be wireless without a bunch of extra stuff the soundboks works well. But I think I am going to try these because I think they look more professional and will wirelessly connect more speakers.
@@NickSpinelli Yeah, the really cheap Bluetooth devices can have really bad latency. But the wave 8 is not particular cheap, and 12ms is still noticeable. But i don't think thats a huge problem and the range is impressive. However its not zero latency.
The real application here would be for hotel AV companies who take hours to set up their audio systems. 8 of these would take less than 30 minutes to set up and test. Pretty cool, and conferance attendees don't give a hoot about what they look like.
transmitting sound to other sources by air is not really first thing though, aiaiai already have their wireless speaker and headphones, and even before singers and instrumentalist uses 2.4GHz signals for wireless sound transmission tech, wonder what's the differences between those and this speakers tech
sounds to good to be true, nick let u know how does this handle at one of your wedding events that holds about 150 people or a little more because i know for sure that you are going to bring your sub woofers just to feel the room up, and we all get that, let us how well this speaker handles on high end side.
Nick, great video! I pre-ordered an Omnis-Duo and I'm thinking about the Wave-Eight. The ONLY thing holding me back is that I like how you can power a wireless mic receiver with the Everse. You said you're going to use this for Ceremonies... what do you do for mics? If I want to run my EW-DW, I'll have to use a jackery or something (which I'm considering)
I typically do 2 mics at each ceremony, so I have them in a separate case with a distro and an external mixer. I’m gonna use the wave eights as truly wireless speakers away from where ever my mics are setup.
Word to the wise batteries are unpredictable in every aspect might be nice for ceremonies or small events outside the price is insane you can get something half the price.
pretty cool, i recently got samung sounbar with similar tech, with wireless sorround satellites and sub woofer, was skeptical at first but zero latency, so i'm not suprised that this works

It looks like that ion speaker from Sam's Club.... 🤣
What’s up with the old school grille with the exposed screws. Shit looks dated AF
I like the features but hate the look also.

It's easy to repair.
Amazing tech, just looks like a speaker that you get out of Best Buy
But you can’t…😅
It does look like an Ion type speaker from Costco, but worth a listen.

Hey Nick, you know that most wireless anything works great when there is nothing but space. Try it at a reception of 100+ guests. I wanna see THAT.
Me to, SonicLink transmits in the 2,4GHz range, same as a lot of wifi. And only RCA connectors on the SonicLink transmitter.

Yes
