Steph Curry is not a point guard. He’s a shooting guard hence he’s considered the greatest shooter. Also Magic has 5 titles 3 MVPs and 3 finals MVPs. Curry has 4 titles 2 MVPs 1 finals MVPs. If my counting is correct. Magic has more titles more MVPs and more finals MVPs. Stephen A must can’t count. He failed basic math like adding and subtraction. Also, Magic won his first title and finals MVPs as a rookie when he scored 42 points 15 rebounds 7 assists and 3 steals. When Magic arrived with Lakers they contended for championships most of his career with a record of 5 - 4. Stephen A like others are prisoners of the moment.
Magic had arguably the 2nd or 3rd best player of all time in Kareem for his whole career. Curry may not be a “point guard” by getting a bunch of assist by passing it to a great center but he runs the offense through his off ball movement (while getting 6ast). His gravity of a shooter also creates quality shots for his teammates. It was a robbery that he didn’t receive finals MVP for 2015 while averaging 26 6 5. Outside Magics passing there’s wasn’t really anything that was super great. He wasn’t the best defensively, didn’t have much of a handle, not a great shooter, etc.

Magic c play the 1 - 5 like LBJ, Curry can’t not do that! Curry is a scorer & one of the best shooters ever but he’s not a player maker like magic & LBJ. Nor does he play any defense besides a steal here or there. He’s “Curry” stop comparing players who have proven enough to have their own name & lane in the sports. He ain’t MJ either canon balling 3’s all night either. He has made his own lane though.
Stop it with the 1-5 but I agree about steph should not je compared to lebron. To magic steph is better. Now to play Pure PG than yes its Magic. But who's the better player ? It's curry and I think it's not close.
A 5th championship puts Steph over the top. The key differences are that 1. Magic was more gifted than Steph and 2. Steph's passing is better than Magic's scoring
disagree with your last point. magic could score with the best of them when needed (see game 6 1980 finals), just not on jumpers. he could get to the post and the lane back when there were real defenders of the rim.
I think ppl gotta get past the steph not a true pg thing. Just compare them as players it dont have to be who the better pg seeing as steph is a combo guard. Magic the better passer, steph the better scorer an defender, both impact the game equally to Me. Steph never had a teammate as dominant as Kareem though. Steph is not a better passer but can become that type of player when need be. Its really a toss up for whos the better player tbh

I could had some assists with Kareem, James Worthy, Byron Scott, and Michael Copper (Copper was considered a 3pt specialist, won 3pt contest too). Magic so much taller than his opponent pg and with Kareem's skyhook... now when i thought about it, I could won number of assist trophies.

Rob with the double Gs 🔥
Unc came trim🤣🔥
Tonight Steph played like Magic 20pts 12 assists in 30 mins
But he usually does not. Has never averaged double-digit assists.
Once in very rare blue moon moment for steph. Magic is the undisputed point god.

Which point guard was he talking about?
@@Poppa417that went over your head. The point is the same exact argument can be used for Curry
This is a tough question only because Steph didn't have somebody like Kareem on his team except for KD for a couple of years. Dude doesn't even have a top 75 players on a team. I mean imagine facilitating to a mount Rushmore player. Imagine if Steph was on the same team with Giannis, that dynamic would be impeccable.
I still have magic as number one, but Steph is a very close second.
Could Steph Curry step in for Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA Finals as a rookie and score 42 points, grab 15 rebounds, dish out 7 assists and basically play all five positions? GAME!
He’s 6’3
@@jrnew1970 Did I mention Curry's height?
@@choward5430 no but you’re bringing up “playing all positions” like you’re holding that against Curry because he isn’t a power forwards height like Magic….like an idiot that doesn’t know basketball

What rings magic got without Kareem
@@BetterDeathWhat’s ring do Jordan got without Pippen bet you still say he is better than LBJ. Magic won FMVP his rookie year he has more MvPs than Curry his Career was better all around. Curry is just a great shooter with a great team. He isn’t known for being an assist leader playing multiple positions. Curry should be 2-2-1 instead of 4-2-1.
In terms of Mt Rushmore, Steph definitely has a better case to be there than LeBron though I would have MJ Magic Bird and Russell cemented there
LeBron has all time records, enough accolades, accomplishments like 3-1 comeback, and passes the eye test. He’s on Mt Rushmore buddy.
Better case than Lebron wtf? Lebron has 4 league MVPs to Steph's 2, 4 Finals MVPs to Steph's 1, 5 time all-defensive First Team to Steph's 0, now holds the all-time scoring record (alongside a ton of other accolades and records), the list goes on and on. He absolutely does not have a better case to be there.
WHAT!? A better case than LeBron. Where do you guys get this stuff from?
That is ridiculous.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not at all. He doesn't have the basic and advanced Stats, nor the accolades to have him put in the same group as mj bron and kareem.
Steph fans think we’re gonna forget about KD. Even with dementia we won’t forget that
Chris loves Steph curry
stop with this nonsense. Magic passed to guys who could shoot. He was not a good shooter. Steph can do both. He's got better handles, he shoots better, none were great defenders and Steph has revolutionized the game more than Magic.
20 pts/12 ast/3 to in a blowout. He’s a pg just doesn’t need to dominate the ball like a cp3
He doesn't play anything like a PG.
I will never understand why Steph playing with KD for two healthy seasons is held against him when KD isn't even a top 10 player, but Magic and Kareem are both considered top 10 players, some even consider Kareem top 5 or top 3, yet we never ever say those championships don't count for either of them... And don't tell me its because the rest of the Warriors squad, because as Chris mentioned, Magic and Kareem also had a squad.
I think it’s due to curry and kd all being right in the middle of their prime. Kareem was still solid but not as good as KD when he was with magic
I think it got manufactured specially as a narrative against Steph, KD and LeBron. First year Kareem was league mvp and Magic got fmvp cause Kareem missed the last game. Another year Kareem won the fmvp and another year Worthy. Magic won rings with multiple top 75 players all time in the league while Steph has 2 with no top 75 player all time...
It’s because they choked and got KD after winning the most games in a regular season. They are a more respectable team now though. Winning last year is probably their most respected championship.
Imagine the Celtics getting giannis or jokic on their squad and winning rings. Stop playing dumb. Those two rings with KD are universally known as weak af
@@bigboner23 So, what we gonna do about Magic and Kareem then or Kobe and Shaq?
I get very confused. If you rank KD as say 12 all time while you rank Steph at say 10... Why is their ring less valid than Shaq+Kobe who are both almost unanimously top 10. Or Magic and Kareem who are also both almost unanimously top 5...
How are a top 10+12 somehow penalised but other top 10 guys are lauded and celebrated for being teammates... All I can think is that it's hypocritical, but if you have a valid reason, please let me know.
Stephen Curry is not a great PG. He's a great shooter. There is a difference between the 2.
magic played 12 seasons and played in 9 finals. lol.
@Beery Magic won 3 finals MVPs + 3 league MVPs during that run with Kareem. lol

@@shawnneurohr6198 what are you talking about? Magic could do it all and played every position. He rebounded and played defense well. Lakers were always a top defensive team. Magic wasn’t a great man on man defensive player but he played great team defense. Have you ever watched him play? Obviously you didn’t. Example, Magic won his first NBA championship and finals MVP playing Center as a rookie against one of the greatest players and teams Dr. J and the 76ers. What are you talking about? Magic took Kareem’s place as center and scored 42 points 15 rebounds 7 assists 3 steals as a rookie. What are you talking about dude?

Rob is an old Crimugin SMH
Curry is today’s point guard: scorer, facilitator, shot creator but he is a transcendent player! He is a top 10 player. Rob is too stuck on the past and he has to be open to today’s game
Steph is not even a point guard, so this comparison isn’t appropriate. He’s a combo guard, so guys like jerry west are better comps for steph.
Such an elementary take on the game
There is no such thing as a combo guard in the NBA officially. Stephen Curry is a point guard.
Colin listed his 7 players who revolutionized the NBA - Kareem, Jordan, Magic, Bird, LeBron, Steph, and Shaq. HOW DO YOU LEAVE WILT CHAMBERLAIN OFF? He not only turned the NBA into a video game but rules were also changed because of him. Wilt is also the greatest athlete to ever play in the NBA.

For me as Jordan is the better version of Kobe.
Therefore LeBron is the better version Magic Johnson.
Hence Stephen Curry is only 1of1 version of himself. A small guard who change the game forever.

There’s only been a handful of teams that one a championship that didn’t have two or more stars and they never got back
