Most college campuses have adequate space for people to peacefully assemble outdoors.
Attempting to occupy buildings is not a good idea as it gives security and police personnel an excuse to accuse protesters of trespassing and vandalism.
I advocate for students to continue to peacefully protest, and these universities should accommodate that option by outlining designated locations to do so, and have security only on standby to prevent violence.
It was particularly egregious at UCLA last week where one night the police stood by and let counter-protesters commit violent assaults in plain view, then the next day the police themselves assaulted protesters while dismantling the encampment. Do better.
If they want to "protest", they should go to Sacramento, or to the LA city hall. They shouldn't be a nuisance to students who are trying to get a degree. And if they want divestment from Israel, they need to go protest at the White House. They accomplish nothing on a college campus except for being a nuisance.

Especially a UC campus. I doubt the individual universities in the system make independent investments apart from the system's board or chancellor. I could be wrong on that, but the system is a California group of universities across the state. I assume the whole is united by its governance.

And just how much support can a California University actually be giving Israel anyway? That's why I said also that they really need to be protesting on the White House lawn. Or better yet, go protest outside the companies that build and sells the weapons to Israel if you want to get right to the people who profit from this.
