There would be plenty of ways to alleviate the problems, for example, vertical farms could feed a much bigger population. Plus, cities and towns could expand upwards instead of outwards (think a situation where most people live in comfortable apartments and townhouses). There's also the space colonization route, billions of people could live on the Moon and in rotating space stations once launch costs are lowered to the point where the middle classes of developed countries could afford to live in outer space. Seasteading is another great option, these would be communities on artificial floating islands that would provide the comforts most in the developed world are used to with minimal environmental damage.

This sum is low enough that not only a few super rich can afford it, but too high to make it available for everyone. And some people in the middle probably could afford it, but not much else then. How would this affect society?
Many people who were lucky enough to keep their looks, still passed on because we can't cosmetically cover our insides. If we could somehow be eternal inside and out, and avoid the accretion of age-related maladies (i.e. cancer, etc.) then we could consider immortality. Whether that's good or not is another question. Some feel we only find meaning in our day because we know it's precious; we only have a brief time here. Others think it's all good, eternal or not. Happy now, and 10,000 years from now.
Despite the negative effects, I still want to live forever. It's my dream. I think we would find a solution to all the cons mentioned. Over population, for example, wouldn't be an issue for a long time, and we'd probably be colonizing moons and planets by then. As for food, people might just have to grow their own food. Or we don't need food because we become mostly machines powered by the sun. I don't know.
But you know, we will have to make them habitable, right? And maybe also include, which country will own moons and planets, or at least their parts. And think about this: there's a gigantic continent in which no one lives (Antarctica).
in my opinion, immortality is bad, but keeping your youth for the human age limit (probably 150), it would be much nicer, you have 150 years to live while still looking and acting like you're 25, except in the last year of your life. It would be pretty epic if you had 125 years of being a young strong adult and only 1 year of aging

Despite the negative effects, I still want to live forever. It's my dream. I think we would find a solution to all the cons mentioned. Over population, for example, wouldn't be an issue for a long time, and we'd probably be colonizing moons and planets by then. As for food, people might just have to grow their own food. Or we don't need food because we become mostly machines powered by the sun. I don't know.
But you know, we will have to make them habitable, right? And maybe also include, which country will own moons and planets, or at least their parts.
And think about this: there's a gigantic continent in which no one lives (Antarctica).
The supply of birthday candles would dwindle a lot.

in my opinion, immortality is bad, but keeping your youth for the human age limit (probably 150), it would be much nicer, you have 150 years to live while still looking and acting like you're 25, except in the last year of your life. It would be pretty epic if you had 125 years of being a young strong adult and only 1 year of aging
