I use the roar at 2:00 Mark for a Wendigo style beast in my D&D game. And I’m pretty sure every player at my table went white when I played it! It was absolutely terrifying and set the atmosphere beautifully. Wonderful work!!

This is not even the creepiest noise a cannibal spirit can make. They are able to immitate voices by peering into peoples minds and read their thoughts and memorys. They can simply lure you towards them. You wouldn't know if its your friend or the monster until its too late

The thing that made me think it sounded strange was the fact that it had a deeper bass tone to it. It didn't sound exactly like this but very similar. I was in some woods just off the eastern side of old scab mountain. It's located east of mount Rainier in Washington State. Honestly dude we get all kinds of weird stuff up here. Bigfoot sightings are the most common. There are also lots of stories that come out of areas east of st. Helens that seem kinda similar to a lot of the skin walker stuff online; never experienced anything like that though.
It was probably an elk in rut, a good portion of that cry is just elk sound with roaring behind it. Terrifying, but nothing more than a horny horned animal lmao
The reason is actually kind of cool, it’s the same reason why games like subnautica are scary even though the monsters will almost never kill you. It’s because humans naturally fear the unknown. In that example, dying and respawning in a game breaks the immersion and reminds you that it’s a game. With this video, the reason why you got calmer was because you got used to the sounds. The more familiar we are with something, the less scary it is.
2:54 I love that the growling slowly gets quieter and less aggressive. It's as if the Wendigo has temporarily satisfied it's ravenous appetite for flesh and can finally have a moment of peace before it must feed once again.
