This company is not alone. Since 2022 carriers require each user to complete a so called "brand/campaign" in order to be able to send SMS. Incoming text works but sending requires "brand/campaign" approval in order to cut down on text spam.
You can only turn notifications on or off for all messages, don't think your can do it for a single or multiple texts. The only thing you can do is mark the text as important so it puts a star next to the ones you marked important.
What could be the reason that I can't receive text replies anymore? I used to get them last week but I didn't receive any this week. I can receive regular emails but not the text replies.

You have to continue with it on Gmail so it will build conversation thread.
