I always have such a blast when I accidentally stumble upon a cartoon I used to love but have completely forgotten about over the years. I'm sure there are still more, and I'm sure I'll stumble upon them eventually.
I remember watching Dog City in Channel 4 back in the 90s when I was very young and I enjoyed these episodes, I wished the whole Dog City Series is finally released onto complete DVD at last.
Ace heart was my favorite character. I loved his hard-nosed, persistant detective style and work ethic, yet he tempered that with a sensetive, caring nature for the people he truly loved. ( i.e Roesy O' Gravey ). I loved Ace Heart's and Elliot Shag's 30's 40's gangster look with their trench coats and fedora hats. I thought it was perdictable yet cool that Jim Henson would cast Ace as a German Shephead and he's a pritive eye.
I finally found this show!! I used to think it was like All Dogs Go to Heaven:TAS but the image of Baron Von Rottweiler has been in my mind for YEARS!!
I loved watching Dog city, it was an excellent series and I wish it was still on. Dog City and the ledgend of White Fang animated series were my two favorite cartoons I watched as a kid growing up in the early 90"s. Watching White Fang actually started my life long love afair with wolves. I loved the combination of animation and puppets on Dog City, it was very origional, I enjoyed watching it very much.
I forgot the name but the animation has stuck in my mind for over more then 18 years now, glad to have remembered it and hope it makes a return on dvd or somesuch...
I forgot about this one. Just scrolled past a picture on another website and was reminded. Had to come see the trailer to refresh my memory, and now I remember it very fondly.
I remember this American-Canadian animated TV programme. I used to watch it when I was younger and it was shown on Channel 4 and now-defunct TCC (The Children's Channel) in the 90s. It's probably one of the most underrated Jim Henson programmes of all time.
I literally saw this once during my entire childhood, but I never forgot it and still knew the theme tune. I think I probably remembered it so well because the girl police dog is so very damn fine.
Thanks! Those books were great. I have to go youtube surfing and find those clips!! Kids shows these days just lack the quality they used to have. They should bring shows like this, and silverwing back on air. Redwall was a good one too.
I remember this 90s cartoon. I used to watch it when I was younger. It was shown on Channel 4 and a now-defunct British television station TCC (The Children's Channel) years ago.
I remember it too! But by the time I was able to subscribe to it, the name was changed to Fox Kid's Magazine. I almost forgot about this show, even though I liked watching it back then.
AliCat, yes, Silverwing was based on Kenneth Oppel's stories. It was produced in 2003 by Bardel Animation and ran for 13 episodes on Teletoon, I remembber watching a few of them and it wasnt bad. you can find the opening and a couple of episode clip on youtube.
Hm, judging from some of the comments here, I guess Iceland was just a place where the show was on in the evening, at least around 6 PM, when sort of the older-kid cartoons were on. All the same, this series really deserves to be seen again, properly.
Man, if the premise of this show actually were possible - to make a cartoon completely on your own just by animating it - I'd be the happiest guy in earth. :P But wow, I'm very excited as i watch this intro. Truly made with heart, this cartoon, and very well animated with great characters.
Ace Heart... Private I... Dog... I loved this show. I've been a fan of private I dramas (as well as scifi thrillers, but thats a different story.) and the use of dog gags was cool. Not to mention the whole character-talking-to-the-animator thing. :D
oh my gosh..just...oh my gosh. i can't believe i stumbled upon this, i literally have not seen this show in over a decade. which i'm sure is also true for most of us 90s kids, lol.
Just found about this from a random DeviantArt post. HOW THE HELL DID I NOT KNOW THIS EVEN EXISTED?! I was born in '92 for crying out loud and never saw this on TV!
OMFG I've Had A Part Of This Show Stuck In My Head But Never Found Out What Was The Name Of The Show, Thanks Go I Know It Now, I LOVE THIS SHOW, PART OF MY CHILDHOOD, FOR REALS
It's strange you guys mentioning this should be a Saturday morning cartoon, 'cause here in Norway, it was! And it was actually quite popular for awhile, but I think we only got the first season.
If they were to Reboot this series for the 21st Century, I could see Elliot as a Computer-based Artist who makes Digital Artwork, and instead of simply being a figment of Elliot's imagination, Ace Hart could be an Artificially Intelligent Computer Program that Elliot created to be used for his series, and Ace could not only talk to Elliot, but could use the power of wifi to travel to other internet accessible devices, like computers, tablets, smart phones, smart watches, smart fridges, etc., allowing Ace to remain in communication with Elliot anywhere Elliot goes, Ace could even travel into Other Peoples' Devices to talk to the others in Elliot's life, Elliot could even use Ace like a virus to hack into other systems, It would be a nice way to bring Dog City into the Modern Era.
I always have such a blast when I accidentally stumble upon a cartoon I used to love but have completely forgotten about over the years. I'm sure there are still more, and I'm sure I'll stumble upon them eventually.
I never knew this even EXISTED until today!
Bindair same here haven't seen this cartoon in years watching it on tubitv 😊
I have always been fascinated by the idea of fictional characters interacting with their creator, and I believe this is where it started.
I'm amazed that there are a lot of comments on this video. This cartoon is almost unknown since so many people have never heard of it before :(
Es hermosa
It was one of my favorite shows growing up😊
I watched this religiously when it used to come on.
I mean, I only learned of it today by complete accident.
(Also I think your username is a skullduggery reference : D )
In my book, some of the comedy ia up there with Hanna-Barbera and Chuck Jones.
Quite possibly the best Henson product to not fall under the Muppet name!
My headcannon is that this occurs in the same world as Zootopia.
Considering Dog City is now owned by Disney, it's NOT far from reality now!
Missed this one but eager to watch it like I wished Road Rovers was on after school.

I loved this so much growing up, a shame I wasn't smart enough to truly appreciate it then.
I finally found this show!! I used to think it was like All Dogs Go to Heaven:TAS but the image of Baron Von Rottweiler has been in my mind for YEARS!!
My childhood! 😂
Next up.. Dark Wing Duck and Gooftroop!

Still remember several scenes of this show. Nostalgic.
I forgot about this one. Just scrolled past a picture on another website and was reminded. Had to come see the trailer to refresh my memory, and now I remember it very fondly.
Before Road Rovers, there was Dog City.
Paw Patrol was just a happy accident later on.

A Silverwing show was made in Canada a few years ago. You can probably find DVDs online.
I watched it 15 years ago when I was 7 years old. And I remember that I liked it very much.

I had forgotten this show, but now I remember!!!
I used to love it!!! waw, how beautiful to remember this
I literally saw this once during my entire childhood, but I never forgot it and still knew the theme tune. I think I probably remembered it so well because the girl police dog is so very damn fine.
It's been 9 years and i'm still coming back to this video lmao
Thanks! Those books were great. I have to go youtube surfing and find those clips!! Kids shows these days just lack the quality they used to have. They should bring shows like this, and silverwing back on air. Redwall was a good one too.

Holy shit... I hadn't thought about this show in decades!
Love the quality of the animation in this opening. Much more Disney like. Now we can enjoy this show on You Tube.
Arguably and honestly, a better opening then the first season.
I remember this cartoon from FOX KIDS, it was awesome. Ahh, tha good old days.
Do I ever miss Dog City... Thanks so much for putting this up.
this was actually my favourite show ever lol and i can not believe i'v forgotten it
I heard that while the Muppet sequences are done in LA, the cartoon voice work was done in Vancouver, Canada.
I remember it too! But by the time I was able to subscribe to it, the name was changed to Fox Kid's Magazine.
I almost forgot about this show, even though I liked watching it back then.
Wow! I haad completely forgotten about this show! Awesome!
NOW this is how cartoon should still be made with real sound effects and made with mind, body, and ,soul/heart

This show was one of the few that fuel my loves for detectives!
Ace Heart... Private I... Dog...
I loved this show. I've been a fan of private I dramas (as well as scifi thrillers, but thats a different story.) and the use of dog gags was cool. Not to mention the whole character-talking-to-the-animator thing. :D
Best 3 years of my childhood.

Just found about this from a random DeviantArt post. HOW THE HELL DID I NOT KNOW THIS EVEN EXISTED?! I was born in '92 for crying out loud and never saw this on TV!
Not the opening I remember, but I actually guessed a character in this before it aired....Baron Von Rottweiller...It Blew my Mind..
Brings back memories 🤗
Wish they'd release the series on DVD. It was one of my favourites as a kid.
This is how the film All Dogs Go to Heaven
This show was pretty decent. Reminded me a bit of Road Rovers.
This was on channel 4. I loved it!
Man, I regret not watching this when I was younger. I found the 2 VHS tapes and there is even a DVD with 5 eps on it, but that's PAL only.

One of my favorites as a kid. We can put a man on the moon but we can't make a time machine so I can go back and enjoy these REAL cartoons? UGH!
I love a world with stylized anthropomorphic animals namely dogs
Ever heard of sea dogs?
I remember this one! Yay! Thanks for
posting it :).
@SonicArmony I miss it too. My sister and I watched it every Saturday. Those were the days.
Omg I totally forgot about this cartoon.. nostalgia

And if he ever needed help, he could go over to neighboring MegaCat City and ask the Enforcers.

KillerSwiller 80's? It's from the 90's.
best cartoons ever!!!
Actually, this was the opening for Season Two of Dog City.
Canwest Global should be focused on bringing back children's shows they've rescinded in 2003 such as dog city instead of sitcoms, newscasts etc....
i feel strange now....
