So happy to see Janea on here! So proud of her. I was already a Monica fan and seeing the two collab was awesome. Room looked great. TV could have been a little bigger for me but it was a very cute sitting nook
Every time I watch The Weekender, there's always at least one moment I think "this isn't going to work, it's going to look awful" and it always does work and looks great. It feels like magic.
I am shocked. When I saw all the different "rooms" within a room I was instantly lost. You made it seem so simple when it really is not. Great ideas for rooms like these for sure.
You did wonders with a awkward space and I love bring in another designer. It’s so nice to see a show with diversity displayed in multiple ways. Very refreshing!!
I love the space! I also love the development of "The Weekender'. As the seasons progressed, you showed more of the process not just the finished project. Love that and it helps to see how it was done. Well done! Hope this series continues - please?!
I already love the Weekender! But to add my girl Janea on this episode was brillant. It brought the design to a whole another level! I ADORE Janea shes amazing. Lowes you did good 👏 the bedroom turned out gorgeous. Monica is one of a kind. Anything she designs turns out stunning. That cedar shingle wall is a masterpiece. Painting the dresser white totally transformed the dresser. Job well done ladies 👏
Loved this ! This is cozy, modern and not what I think of when I hear the words farm house. Great colors, textures and patterns. The plants bring it alive👏👏👏
The talent of Monica Mangin is amazing. I am so over FARMHOUSE anything, just so tired of it and she still managed to make me like what she did. How about trying new design styles, maybe something breezy and tropical like British Colonial...
Loved this collab and the result is stunning! I was feeling for the husband cause he thought his TV had gone, but his face shone when he realized he got a new, improved one, glad he got a little "extra" since he seemed so accommodating of having his wife choose the style etc, lovely couple :)
That is a really great transformation of the space - so clever and makes 100% sense how you rearranged things. Also love the soft comfortable colors that are cozy but still light/bright.
I'm not going to lie I was a little bit skeptical of how it might turn out but it turned out to be beautiful. You both did a great job filling the space, but still leaving space to enjoy and utilize.👏🏾👏🏾
It’s so awesome to see you at work, Monica. The bedroom came out great and I think the electric fireplace is an idea that I would also be interested in using in my home! Thanks!
I am loving these collabs! I love how this room turned out, that headboard is to die for! I am team no top sheet. I just wash the duvet cover every time I wash the fitted sheet. I think top sheet was more for if you have a comforter or blanket that you don't wash often, you don't want it next to your skin. I have dogs that get in the bed though so everything gets washed every week. Or I guess there are folks that sleep with only a top sheet in the summer, but I would be too cold. I need my duvet year-round.
Love the makeover and so happy to see J’nay (what an unexpected delight). I think you guys solved their immediate design needs and gave them inspiration. I’m not a fan of the closet area but you only had a couple days so it’s a wonderful start (and it was better than I expected). Loved how you guys listened to your clients.
Really enjoyed this episode. What an awkward space! I need a Monica and Janay. I especially like the area where they can watch television. I don’t like watching television in bed either. The fireplace was especially thoughtful. I had a dresser like that 20 years ago when that cherrywood was popular. I’m glad they kept it. I should have painted mine instead of selling it. They really elevated that room.
The closet will soon be a clutter sone, as it just doesn't have enough storage. I would put a pull out system for the small doors, you can hang them sideways, not sure how deep it is, if you could fit two hangers next to each other. But that would keep them out of sight. It did give the room a much better feel tho. I loved the style, as I'm a farmhouse/ bohemian/relaxed style fan.. 😉
Absolutely beautiful. Though rarely feel different with your videos. I adored that couple. Why? Their happiness and excitement was palpable . Nothing worse with some home show reveals that are amazing , yet little reaction
Well the shingles now that I didn’t have the full visual of but it turned up really nice that was pretty cool! Overall Monica the room is so funky shaped that I really was wondering how you were going to pull it all together but in the end absolutely gorgeous as always love watching your girl!!!
That bump-out space may have been intened to be a dressing area…apparently this is common in the UK. I am really glad she took that archetectural queue and went for for it. It made the room make sense.
Nice upgrade that gives her 'farmhouse-ish' look. I wondered if the bed might have fit in the new dressing area with the doors taken off the tiny closets for open shelving? Or could it have rotated in the same nook? The dressing area is great, but I would definitely need a mirror somewhere! I would love to have seen a mantle-like board over the top of the fireplace for a nice finished look and to soften those metal edges. The bedside tables look a little tight in the space, and I might have considered a smaller floating shelf instead to make the space look larger. How do they reach the bedside lights? And, at that height, I imagine they shine in your eyes when you are in bed. If I could add one more thing it would be a big ottoman for the sitting area or maybe switch the chairs for a cozy loveseat.
What a neat concept. I am going to use the shingle idea for a beach type back wall in my bedroom. Thank you for that idea. My bedroom has been storage for so many things I do not know what to do with. I have finally been working through getting stuff out of there. I do need to take every thing out at one time and get started.
Lovely. The sitting area was just what I had in mind. I'd add some low profile foot stools for comfort. I prefer my clothes to be hidden and would have added 2 closed door wardrobes instead. I don't like plaid. But, it all works. Thanks for another great episode.😘
I like you both individually and ur styles. But now together, yall have made my Saturday. Great job ladies. J was a little quiet but she got it done ✔️
@@monicamangin5678 thank you, you're talented and a joy to watch. I wish I was your kind of handy. I've watched you from the beginning and so glad you're enjoying the process of doing projects 😊 . Best of whatever you choose to do. I'll definitely be watching and learning.
Loved how it came out. Really thought you were going to get rid of those tiny closets and make it a closed in closet. But I understand wanting to utilize the light from those large windows. I would be using the tiny closets for shoes, bags and accessories. Love the brightness and coziness that you brought to their bedroom.
I wish Monica had a DAILY show to watch. Monica usually hits her projects out of the park but I have to say that this one is just not my favorite. The closet/curtain area, for me, was just wrong on so many levels. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next Weekender and Monica’s beautiful smile.
Here for JANEA!! she’s the best!! 💕🔥
Same!!
Me too
SAME! Always, forever.
Yep! 👋

I definitely would have done bigger & lower
You picked the right person to help with a cozy farmish style. Congratulations Janea!!!! What a blessing for you! So happy to be a fan of yours 😁💓

Another success!!!! I never saw anyone use shingles indoors and I never saw curtain rods on the ceiling. I loved it. Super job as always

love it, great collab with janea!
I totally get the matching hangers thing with an open closet. The clothes does like more cohesive hanging there! 😍

Nailed it as usual. You really know how to hone in on people's vibes & style and give them a space that they couldn't envision for themselves.

I was a big fan of top sheet plus quilt until I got dogs, now I'm 100% for duvet covers, or a light, washable blanket for the summer!
2 Brilliant DIYers!

We thought about the bed in that space, but unfortunately it wasn't big enough. We thought it also would have really divided the room even more...
