Stoyanova, to judge from this live recording, seems to be enjoying an exceptionally robust late-career prime--it's astonishing how she negotiates the difficulties of this aria with impressive control and beauty.
Stoyanova’s Desdemona and Verdi Requiem with Chicago Symphony and Muti conducting … she’s peerless! Such a shame she seldom records. OMG and her Amelia in Un Ballo with Piotr Beczala at Weiner Stattsoper is glorious. The 3 roles I’ve cited are all live recordings. She’s equally at home in Tchaikovsky and Richard Strauss. Yoncheva just doesn’t measure up. Netrebko is marvellous but Krassimira Stoyanova is, as someone wrote, hands down the greatest dramatic soprano of our times.
Stoyanova is a lyric who has moved into heavier roles. She’s not a dramatic soprano. Where is her Gioconda, Isolde, Turandot, Brünnhilde or even Norma?
Because the Leftist activists convinced the world that any who darkens their skin to play Aïda or Otello is doing "Blackface" and is therefore racist - all of which is false, but these arts organizations fell for it at the threat of loss of funding.
Blackface doesn't do much justice to white soprani singing Aida, and besides, black soprani don't paint their face white to play Traviata or any other European character for that matter. It's better to let your imagination fly. Most Butterflies aren't Japanese either 😉
The best soprano of our time!!! ♥️♥️♥️🌺
A true Verdian dramatic soprano. Sublime!
The best technique, the best voice!
Bravissima, una tigre, artista completa ! ❤❤❤

Amazing voice. Love it 😍
She is Verdi reborn.
She is such a great actress too
