I think platform fighters are legit fighting games and I like how rivals plays into archetypal character design, it’s something I wish Brawlhalla did a little more
I wanted to play this game during the Demo but Like you said in the video there is like no keyboard support which made me not able to play any games on keyboard during the demo. The menu was difficult to navigate and when I changed my key binds to be closer to my Brawlhalla key binds it would reset everytime I went into a match and both my movement and attack buttons would be mapped to the same keys.
The original Rivals of Aether actually had really good keyboard support to the point where at least one top player used one in tournament, and I _believe_ it's in the works for Rivals 2 as well!
There's a cheese strat you can do with pillar where you knock your opponent onto the pillar then they go into pratfall. You can then fspec cancel to break it and they tumble into pratfall helplessly and die

If you’re wanting to continue playing with something similar to keyboard you should look into box style controller (leverless controllers, hitboxes) that are made for platform fighters. It plays like a keyboard since it’s just buttons but just without the clutter of all the unnecessary keys. They have modifier buttons so you can get the necessary angles and tilts needed to play. They’re gaining popularity in melee. Analogue controllers are definitely not the only way to play
You can play with keyboard ! when you are in the main menu , u gotta use the mouse. When ur in the character selection, use Arrow keys to navigate menus, space = yes , x = back enter = start game if you try use the mouse the game freezes so u gotta press X to cancel it somehow. once u select character u can access computer binds . Hope this works for anyone trying. im diamond brawlhalla keyboard player so i wanted to play rivals with a keyboard, even if it took me half an hour to figure out the knowledge above. adios
Will Brawlhalla make a 3D character version updated and release would be amazing. Brawlhalla is still a top tier platform fighter but rivals 2 has the community in a frenzy and its great.

@@jayspace2905 crouch cancel, when crouching right before you get hit, you take less knockback. You can see when it happens due to the arrows pointing down that appear when someone does it. It is a mechanic in many other games too.
There was no crouch canceling because you don't see the green arrows pointing down that just what happened because ranno has weak hits on his rapid jab
Have egg played smash ultimate? Just asking out of curiosity. If he had I would really love to see the videos and see how his first impressions are as well
If you don't really like the gamecube controller, keyboard is fine. There have been multiple top keyboard players in the past and all the tech works on keyboard.
