Putting the whole box of fun controversy aside. To me the next mind-blowingly stupid move Funko made was releasing a three-pack that a lot of collectors wanted to a small Midwestern department-store chain.
That was a weird call for sure
I forgot. It's ok for the Funko Headquarters to be on the other side of the United States and screw everyone on the East? And now you upset us east coast people get something you don't. Classic American comment.
And most stores havet gotten any of them.
That's because they tweeted and said they will be dropping on August 1st!
And that's why Ebay is flooded with shared sticker ones I don't think most stores that got them waited.
I wonder if the intentional screw up is to keep us from delving into their employee layoffs.
My box of fun just got it’s origin scan in Arizona today lol. I’m on the east coast so I’ll get it next week haha.
My biggest issue with what Funko did for sdcc was claiming it was a sticker issue. A sticker issue would be 6-12 making into the at home box not making 2-4K more than what they claimed by sticker on con box.
And then lastly the fairly odd parents being at a store that’s in like 4 states and the rumored online stock being like 900 total

Preach! I'm still mad at how the SDCC Funko Pop online drop went. I wasn't able to get the Fairly OddParents 3-pack, and to top it all off, they shared it with Meijer... 😫
Patience... Once the fake scarcity and fomo ends the random restocks will start. 6-12 months it's on the shelves at five below. Don't fall for the BS anymore. last year's are selling for less than 15$ online now. Most are 5-10$

Idk man. Funko had a lot of red flags for this event. My major thing. Them charging a lot for funday tickets. Within price they included their own vendor fee so they can rent out the space… consumers need to be smarter. Because. If we consumers hurt their wallet, they will make better changes. But sadly that’s not the case. Now will NY be better. Hopefully. But if not. They losing a lot of trust.
I went to sdcc and the funko booth was the most popular booth in the whole con and had so many people who were happy to see funkoville

Honestly I have not really bought a Pop in while or even really been keeping up with Funko all that much, because of how everything has been going. I had no idea any of this was going on, havent watched your Funko videos in a min (leaning more Pokemon heavy 😅) I really hope they turn this around.
I attended this year's SDCC. Funkoville was so crowded and out of hand that the fire marshal was called to shut it down Thursday. The only way you were able to get into the Funko booth was with a lottery slot if you are very lucky to win one. But if you didn't, the security will shout at you to move along without stopping. Side note: don't get me started on the Metazoo booth OMG SMH. That was crazy too where the fire marshal was called as well.

that's unfortunate.. I go to funko HQ a lot and they're always really good about limiting entry to comply with fire code. Surprising they didn't do the same at SDCC.. though I suppose there's no shortage of surprises with Funko these days 😅

I feel like this situation could make or break Funko. They will either go down with there sinking ship or rise out of the flames like phoenix. Hoping for the later as I have been an avid collector since 2014.
I think they have too much going on and they can’t handle it. I’m not trying to make any excuse for them but also making bad decision.

they have spread them shelves so thinly - with games and all other stuff true fans dont care about
I could care less for protecting sanctity of the live fun days a small percentage of people get to go then we get the box of fun and usually its a huge step down
You should care a ton. If they’re willing to castrate THE MOST POPULAR EVENT OF THE YEAR, they’re willing to dumb everything else down

I agree Will its devastating to witness all of this negative things one after the other coming to Funko. But unfortunately I feel they are doing this intentionally at this point because they forgot who they were and why they were a company and when that happens you loose all sense of direction and create a disconnect with your consumers which only fuels the issues. I really don't think that Funko can recover fully from this and this company needs to be purchased or sold off and run by actual creative people and someone who shares a true passion for the products like the core fans do.
Still waiting on my box of fun says label created last Tuesday and still no updates.
Fun fact! I worked for the corporate office at a management level for a year and left because I couldn’t take it anymore. let me tell you, that company is a shitshow, top to bottom 😌.
It’s ran by a clique of people (I really do mean a clique, since none of them have any experience with senior leadership AT ALL and are just there because they’re close to Becker) that have no idea what they’re doing. It’s going to go bankrupt. It’s honestly just a matter of time. It’s sad because unlike most business that go belly up, it’s not because of a lack of demand. It’s because those at the top barely passed community college but think they should lead a billion dollar company.

I got my shipping confirmation for my Gon and I’m worried I won’t get the right pop. It says it’ll be delivered Wednesday so hoping for what I ordered
My Lumberjack box of fun has been in “label printed but UPS has not picked up” limbo for 9 days… got my other mascots that I ordered, SDCC order absolutely TRASHED & missing Galvatron/ Rodimus pop
My SDCC Ariel came with the base broken, I got one from Target and it was in perfect condition 😢
It screams money issues. It screams they didn’t want to spend the extra money to make a bunch of molds that were separate for the event. They’re laying off more people which says money is an issue. It would not surprise me next year if they say they’re going to postpone having Fundays due to company issues. It would probably save them a lot of money not having that event and just making boxes of fun that can be sold online. I could see them even increasing the number of boxes that they sell. It makes me wonder what’s crazy thing will happen with NYCC.

Fun on the Run followed by SDCC followed by Fundays followed by massive employee layoffs. What made them think they could handle all of that in such a short timespan? Any company would get overwhelmed by all that. Now they have pissed fans that may stop buying because they can’t even send the correct items. Hope the stock holders don’t mind losing all of their money. I have almost 500 pops + $1500 in preorders on Entertainment Earth and I’m on the fence about whether to keep sending Funko my hard earned cash that they clearly don’t deserve.
I’ve gotten rid of most of my Pops. I have my personal collection pile and for sale pile. I unloaded most of mine before the fall.
I don’t collect many funko pops but i really feel for those who have been treated poorly by funko especially with the con . Mislabelled stickers and people getting the wrong pops for starters it seems like funko just doesn’t care about people who buy their product . What are funko pops really worth with or without the stickers …basically the same it seems . This has been building for the last 12 months. Has funko even announced a new CEO yet …..he/she will have their hands full trying to steer this ship out of stormy waters

Just got my SDCC order - 6 pops, 1 incorrect, all boxes smashed front, sides, and backs. Absolute worst delivery I have ever received from them.
I agree totally, I’m relatively new at collecting funko, but been a collector my whole life. This was my first BOF and it didn’t leave the best taste and I’m not the one the got messed over. I hope they figure it out cause darn it I just started.

I was happy when I saw the in person box and that the aftermarket was back it seemed like the excitement was back….but that was all a lie such a disappointment. I feel bad for the people who bought some of those pieces from the con for 800-1500 dollars or more.

Last year they made it known shipping might be delayed because of the Con. I think they got a lot of flack for that and decided they’d ship things fast this year and well it didn’t work. It’s a shame too because the exclusives this year were the best in a while.
My wife and I were only after 2 pops (her Wicket me Lilith) with all the problems funko is having I paid the extra money just to pick it up at Toy Temple. I got a wrong order from FunkoI had ordered the venom mystery box and got the vaulted anniversary joker. They fixed it but you're right how many people are going to return $105 box when they ordered a $15

they do the same thing with sodas. they release a soda that is LE 5000, then do an international version that is LE 10000 (Bruno)... well then its not LE 5000 or even LE 10000. they probably didnt think people would care as much

My sdcc pops came with scratches all over the windows. It’s weird because it is on every single pop. And my box of fun has said label created for 6 days now no movement. lol
Yea my SDCC pops came finger prints all over the windows which is pretty tough to clean off its as if someone was eating some greasy food while packing my order

@chib6801 I know I started collecting on 2017 it was so much better back then I stopped in I believe late 2019 dues to reason with Funko unvaulting certain pops that I had payed much money for and just got back into it about two weeks before SDCC cause I missed the hunt the enjoyment of the community & I'm still a fan of the product but idk I'm starting to think wad it the right move for me return

Funko has been shooting them selves in the foot over the last year , being greedy and making dumb mistakes, they are going in a bad direction, my bof is finally on the way hopefully I get the right items

I didn't have a problem with my BOF but i did order some SDCC pops before BOF and im still waiting. I think ill cry if i don't get Gaia and Rita and Talia pops 😂 i wanted to put those women on my desk! I feel bad for the people who didn't get their BOF. I had an issue with my Box of Fun as well. Not as bad as not getting one but got the wrong mascot. The mascot I should have received had much better pop combinations than what I got stuck with. First box of fun and it was tarnished. Ugh! Sent a request for them to make it right and I am not getting any specific response from Funko other than a form email.
Same thing happened to me I got wrong mascot. They responded wanting me to open the box and show them, but not telling me what they're going to do about it. I'm saying I don't want to open the sealed box when the team # and bundle # tell you what box it is plus my name and address on shipping label.
All I know is my order better not come in messed up if it's shipped without care I will stop collecting because if they don't care why should we
Not to mention funko has the fairly odd parents 3 pack shared with mejier, a store only in 6 states in the midwest, and can only get it in store. Never before has funko did this making a shared convention exclusive to a regional store
Yet they do it ALL the time with there HQ store. To be fair the mid west doesn't get these huge cons like SDCC and NYCC so i think its pretty cool that they get a chance at something like this.
@@Grimlock316fuck that mindset, Im tired of people using that as an excuse for this fuck up, stuff like that hq store exclusive just happens, it’s for the store and people around that store, and usually the pops are just variants or repaints, not entirely new characters from new licenses like fop. If we are going with that mindset, why not make other sdcc exclusives shared with other regional stores that don’t ship? Do it all across the country while ur at it.
@@auxon9312 I myself wouldn't have a problem with that. I think it would be great if more regional stores like that got Exclusives. I just don't understand why people are losing their minds over this.
How can the Funko booth be the top 10 worst.😂 it’s the most packed and successful in sdcc. That part makes no sense.

For those who are upset they didn’t get their hands on FOP, isn’t it better that pops sre exclusive and not easy to get your hands on? It makes it more exciting to collect!

they always try to go above and beyond at cons or during cons and always fail. look at fright night last year, that may have been worse than SDCC IMO
giving out funko gold as a prize, or a 2 pack that they later released. no food, nuts to butts at the event
It was bond to happen at some point but really sucks it did.
This company’s management is worse than whatnot’s … why? Because funko can’t put the blame on 3rd party streamers… it’s all on them

companied do not change for buyers, they make changes for investors. So as much as customers are disappointed it will not change anything unless its hurting the investors. But we keep buying what they're selling. This is the same thing that happened with Apple years ago, consumer continue to buy the product and even at a higher price. I don't see much changing with Funko, the day its starts hurting their bottom line with the investors then there might be a slight change. Just my opinion, I have seen this way to many times, and its a cycle that just keeps going.
Funko only care about making the shareholders happy
@funko probably needs to pull out of NYCC and reset. There is alot going on right now with them and that's not something you can correct overnight. They need to pause, access, address, and reset for events going forward.

Does Funko aka the Fun Company only mean those in Corporate positions 😂 sure seems like it ....going commercial is where it all began....when they no longer need to listen to the community or have a closer relationship with the fans....getting rid of Sulley and that crew was a huge mistake because they were the communication line for the fans and kept us engaged.....glad im done with this headache for sure.....And yeah I love Funko as well back when Mike still had the reigns
Will I hope you got what you wanted. And the whole reason I didn’t go for a fun day box like last year. I just stared collecting around mid 2020. Then I got an email saying I was chosen for the box of fun and got all excited bought it and did say anything to my wife. When it came in I was so let down and she was so upset. Since then and being in retail for about 20 years. I started to see a trend in the last few years since I started and following you and a few others. I am no like the trend and I had a feeling deep in my gut that this years fox of fun was going to be a big fubar. And it was and I personally am glade I chose not to this year. But with all that said I love my BL and GITD. So I’ll still collect but it has limited my buying big time.
Problem is, Funko is trying to do to much at once. Like they are desperately, trying to get as much cash as possible. They need to slow down and do things correctly.

I’ve always been confused about stickers. The figures and box are the same except stickers. It’s like the figure isn’t important and the sticker is. Anyway I think the Funko collecting hobby has become greedy. It’s all about greed. Sure collecting has always been about money but not as bad as funkos. Didn’t beanie babies get greedy also and other past collectibles got too greedy and when they did get too greedy they become irrelevant. It isn’t for fun anymore it’s for money. I will always remember a couple in court dividing up beanie babies on the courtroom floor. 😂 what if funkos become like that.

I understand people are mad about the Freddy Funko situation. But I don't really care because I am not a flipper I buy Funko Pops as a collectible. And if I get one I don't want then I sell it to buy one that I want not to make money off of it. I'm a collector I don't care about the value it's nice to have some rare ones which I do but the way it goes sometimes mistakes happen I also collects sports cards it happens in that sports cards all the time

I said this on the gastlecast video. Funko is a brand I love-hate. They make stupid decisions but I'm still going to buy their products. I think going forward they need to ditch the two different Boxes Of Fun, just have one box for in person/at home. That way Funko can have event exclusives as the team prizes and other give aways. They didn't seem to faff that up, no one has received a Spock or Wolverine at home. Nor for that matter did they mess up the flocked mascots, so someone was paying attention at some point. That kinda makes it seem like it was intentional to include higher piece counts of the "limited" event pops. Either way Funko are never going to please everyone. I'm just sad I can't order from the site anymore 😔
Spock wasn’t a fundays box of fun item. It was one of the 850 LE pops given to the individual teams. Do your research. Thanks.
A complete disaster horrible
we are all collectors and many like myself have been in this game long enough to know this was not a failure. This whole people who went to the con are getting cheated is a load of salty fanboy crap..... here are the facts, You STILL got a chance to get Con only exclusive funkos so don't give me that boo hoo wah wah that other people got a pop you thought only you were getting. This gave people a chance to get these pops that don't have $3000 to $5000 to spend to get to this con. you still get a unique pop with the limited sticker JUST like the shared and con sticker pops. If you are ONLY going to this con for the pops i have no sympathy for you because chances are you ARE a flipper. I have been going to cons almost as big as this one for over 20 years now ( Wizard World aka Fan Expo ) exclusives like these are fun surprise and in now way should and are not a deciding factor of the con. You get to go to thee con and enjoy yourself with the atmosphere and people. If you think you should have some kind of refund or reparation because you did not get the EXACT exclusive you thought you deserve then please don't go to these cons and try ruining it for other people.

You seem to be a pretty bad collector if that’s your mindset. People have been reselling for a lot of money from exclusive conventions for over 20 years. Why are you acting like it just started last year? I mean if anything you sound like a noob than someone that’s been going to these conventions for over 20 years.
I'm a big fan of funko too but this crap needs to stop. Ordered a box of fun and got Gon. Emailed 4 days ago and no response. All we got to do is stop buying for a couple months and show them how we really feel.

Furst off I know you love Funko, anyone who follows you will know that. I'm grateful to you BEING critical of Funko when they deserve it and they absolutely deserve it! I feel the same way you do, but I don't have the platform to say anything. So thank you yet again for the great vids and for holding Funko accountable. I've felt that this year was supposed to be a celebration of Funko as well as it's fan and it feel like Funko just celebrated Funko, by ripping off it's customer base. I've never been able to afford or get a Funko Fun Days box, this year I did. Now I'm scared I won't get what I was thought I was going to get, what I was so happy to have been able to buy. Funko stole from many of us and not broke our trust.
I must agree this is a bad situation I didn't know all that was happening I thought it was just a Freddy Funko thing people should get what they pay for and it should come in mint condition we are collecting these as a hobby the news someone might be collecting these too pissed to their kid as a legacy or a nephew or something like that

Will is also one of the few people that I have noticed not get special treatment from Funko. All these other Funko youtubers that did not even have close to the same number of subscribers as him blow up and even get double his and now I see them going to every con to every Funko event. Feels like they sold their souls. I respect him 100 percent for that and let’s say he does start to go. If he does we know it took him a very long time and that he is a real one. I would name them but I know it’s pointless. Thank you will for everything brother. People don’t realize that sacrifices you make but I know it’s worth your integrity. Why do I say sacrifices because if he would just be kind and cater to Funko he would probably over 100k subscribers, more subscribers means more views, more profit but he doesn’t sell out!

@@DrApplesauce of course I do will! I’ve been watching you since I started collecting late 2017, along with a few others but so far you and the Gastlecast have remained close to me. I love you guys and the content you make. Others I would follow started to fall of and gave into the fame when I remembered they weren’t even as popular as you at the time. They became selfish and today I saw a comment that said they should show more honesty and loyalty to fans that help build their social media and I agreed with that comment. They forget where they came from and you haven’t and I love and respect that 100 percent because that’s how I am. Once I got my career I stayed true to myself and stayed humbled knowing that I came from nothing. I feel like others are scared because they don’t want to lose views and want more followers. You and the Gastlecast are the only channels that don’t sell out and I feel like that why it is harder for you guys to get subscribers but it shouldn’t be like that. Some of those hate comments are most likely from new fans that don’t know what you long time collectors have been through. Some don’t understand that it takes time and dedication to make these videos. Some people just want to skip it all and go viral while the ones that put in the work stay behind and that is not right. Just know that you have a fan for life man. As well does the gastlecast!

It wasn’t a failure, it got more people hyped for exclusives. The only people I see truly complaining about sdcc/fundays are people who didn’t even go the the event.

i went to fundays and been compaining since the news came out that my metallic megatron, diamond merlin, and hopper were also found inside the at-home box. wish they handed out protos during the event

Why is this alarming though? Seems like the normal trend the last 2 years increasingly. Funko is on a downward spiral. Grails are cool. Maybe if you collected before 2015. Outside of that the collectors ive met or heard of are all incredibly greedy. Especially the what not community. Anyway glad im out.
Funko needs to keep it simple,1 ticket gets you in to see everything! Funko is greedy? I can see Funko dissolving in 5 years thhe way thier going and will they be sued by all the people who got sick? If your business is doing bad wouldn't you go back to what worked in the first place?
Who is running Funko?? I mean these are basic mistakes. Embarrassing. I don’t order from Funko unless the pop is only available there and I’m in love with it. I find ordering from Amazon, EBay, Entertainment Earth, Target, Hot Topic and Walmart all very reliable. While the one time I ordered a bunch of SDCC exclusives from Funko they came severely damaged and poorly packed, not to mention that they just finally recently switched to a better credit card processing company as they where using that awful processing company for years. They need to get it together.
How ironic BM stepped away right before this. Hmm... This is heartbreaking what Funko is doing to customers, fans, and employees.

Gastelcast blew this WAAAAAAAAAY out of proportion. Its annoying to see how people take them as the word of god when it comes to Funko pops. Remember how they tried to take credit for being SO informed and how they saved people from buying the overpriced Eddie Munson from target? They told people to wait and it will go down. Then get all salty when they traded a Green Ranger Grail for a Metallic Megatron THE DAY THEY CAME OUT, then proceed to blame funko and the situation for their pop now being worth a lot less because of all this. So much for waiting 🤣

I absolutely agree. We as a community are collectors. So we care.
Funko, is a toy company.
Funko is owned by its shareholders. It's also held accountable by those shareholders for the plan in the future to keep making profits.
SDCC has nothing to do with long-term profit planning.
These toys sell all over the world, and are loaded up in all kinds of retail stores and sell to many people that are not collectors. That being said, collectors input, and critics input, have nothing to do with what's important to Funko. I hate to say it, but collectors need to recognize who they are in the bigger picture. I as a collector appreciate that this company goes out of their way as much as what they do for collectors.

If that is true with the Freddy funko's that they said they don't care just do it I don't believe that at all I believe disgruntled employees did it on purpose to try and ruin Funko
I think you are underestimating Funko when you say this will go down as the biggest disgrace in history. They still have Fright Night at NYCC and next years SDCC to outdo themselves. And the way they are trending they will accomplish that without a doubt.
If they last that long, they are now outsourcing funko artists overseas, fired 400 employees at Funko

Dr and other content creators like Gastle all LOVE Funko, honestly i've been watching them for a while and they're only critical because its the truth. I used to love hunting, i've been excited about NFTs, the new fun day and fun on the run boxes but nothing really excites me now, its like i am just collecting for the sake of collecting. The longer this goes on and less trustworthy Funko becomes, the mistakes, sticker mess up, making up LE numbers it all adds up. I honestly hope Funko sorts themselves out so we can enjoy being collectors again
